The aim of this study is to analyse the knowledge and management of emergency and safety precautions implemented by dentists during the pandemic of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia. An online survey was used for this cross-sectional study using google forms and was distributed to dental professionals who works in government hospitals, private clinics, and academic universities in Saudi Arabia. Statistical evaluation was done using the data that was obtained from 355 dentists (academicians, private practitioners, military and government employees), with the power of the sample being 0.85. Relevant awareness regarding the incubation period and symptoms of COVID-19 virus was observed among the dental professionals. Preparedness and perception among dental professionals seem to be satisfactory and statistically significant. Alwoseamer, Albatool Ibrahim AlMajed","doi":"10.51847/j9kotfltnz","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.51847/j9kotfltnz","url":null,"abstract":"This study aimed to assess the indirect restorative treatment plan decision-making of endodontically treated teeth (ETT) made by dental practitioners and their knowledge and perceptions of the available treatment alternatives in Saudi Arabia. A structured, close-ended, and self-administered questionnaire consisting of personal characteristics and various questions on the treatment concept and materials for restoring ETT were assessed among the study participants. The questionnaire was administered online and manually, and 425 responses were obtained. Descriptive statistics of frequency distribution and percentages were calculated for the categorical data. In addition, The Chi-square test or Fisher's exact tests were applied to compare responses across various characteristics of the study participants. A total of 425 responses were obtained from the study participants. The study participants commonly used post, core, and crown to restore the posterior endodontically treated tooth. Nearly half (49.40%) agreed that prefabricated fiber post was the most common type of post used for restoring posterior endodontically treated teeth. Almost 60.2% of study participants agreed to place a post after every endodontic treatment. Nearly 61.9% are not confident in doing endocrowns, and 69% did not attend any workshops on it. 31.8% reported that they got familiar with endocrowns through social media. Statistically significant associations were found between participants' characteristics and several items of ETT knowledge. The majority of study participants regarded fiber posts and crowned as the most common endodontic treatment. But often clinicians consider rubber dam use can cause anxiety and fear evoking stimuli that may hamper their rapport with the child and thereby affect the quality of treatment. This creates a reluctance among practitioners to use rubber dams in the pediatric population.The aim of the study was to assess the anxiety levels in children in the age group of 6 to 10 years undergoing dental treatment with or without a rubber dam using the Animoji scale. This study was conducted on 48 children in the age group of 6 - 10 years, divided into two groups: group 1 (cotton roll isolation) and group 2 (rubber dam isolation). Anxiety levels were assessed using an animoji (animated emoji) scale which has a scale of score 1 to score 5 (very happy to very unhappy). The obtained data were statistically analyzed using SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Version 24.0 (IBM Corporation, Chicago, USA). Descriptive and analytical statistics were done. The independent t-test was performed to know the differences between the two groups.The result proved that by comparing group 1 and group 2 there was no statistically significant difference between the two different groups p>0.05.This study concludes that the use of rubber dams does not create a significant rise in anxiety levels in children. Almost 25% of children experience dental trauma at school, with men being two times as likely as women, the upper central incisors are most often affected, with a high frequency between 8 and 10.A survey was used to perform this cross-sectional investigation of Riyadh's dental. A simple random sampling method was used to include 450 dentists in the research. A questionnaire method comprised of questions on demographics and awareness and understanding of oral traumatic injuries was developed as part of the study. The mean overall knowledge score was 7.11±2.90. The results showed that the presence of ongoing training sessions on dental trauma had a substantial impact on the mean knowledge (P = 0.039).
