Necessary equipment, instrumentation, data-acquisition module and nanofluid preparation method is described. The experimental setup is benchmarked using water in both hot and cold fluid channels by validating its results with results reported in the literature. Afterwards, nanofluid is used in the hot fluid chamber and tap water is used for cold fluid for each of the heat exchangers. The analysis is carried out for three different concentrations of the nanofluid including 0.2%, 0.4%, and 0.6% of CuO. The influence of nanofluid on the heat transfer from the hot fluid chamber and effectiveness is reported experimentally for three volume fractions. A ∼21% enhancement of heat transfer in concentric, shell-and-tube, and spiral heat exchanger; whereas, a 26% enhancement is observed in plate heat exchanger. This research identifies an important avenue towards a more compact design of new heat exchangers, and heat transfer enhancement of existing heat exchangers.","PeriodicalId":427270,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134376561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

FEMM (ver. 4.2) open dedicated simulation software for implementing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used for this study. Analysis has been done on the electric field intensity along the gap axis of the sphere-sphere electrodes. The electric field distribution in the gap is strongly affected by the distance between the electrodes. Simulation results of R410A were compared with the results of SF6and at the same conditions the electric field intensity for R410A is 0.92 times of SF6. Beside other properties, R410A has comparable dielectric strength 0.92 that of SF6 and is good alternative to SF6.","PeriodicalId":427270,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129400443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To determine the true reliability of the system, we have applied the continuous probability model to the system which determine the reliability of the system with time. In the present paper we consider a system in which components are connected in a mixture of series and parallel. The probabilistic behavior of each components is based on Exponential and Lindley probability models as these models are decaying functions and are suitable for electronic and electrical systems. Also, each component has different values of parameter. The joint probability of the system is used to evaluate the properties and reliability of the system. The graph of reliability curves show the decrease in reliability with time [6]. When reliability has decreased to a very low level, at this time it is suggested that the operation must be stopped, and components be either replaced or serviced so the system may start again with high value of reliability.","PeriodicalId":427270,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132152946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IoT devices come in varying shapes and sizes with a range of features and resources. When devices are placed ubiquitously the importance of fundamental security goals like authentication increases considerably. Research has mostly studied various aspects of the IoT environment but often miss out on the essential authentication security goal. This paper first studies the latest methods through which authentication is achieved in the IoT. Analysis has shown that the devices lack resources to implement complex authentication algorithms. Another issue with many authentication algorithms is that they are not universally applicable to IoT devices. Based on these findings a novel authentication algorithm is proposed that is based on using device serialization chip. The designed algorithm resists a range of attacks like man-in-the middle, masquerading, device cloning and replay. The scheme is composed of lightweight security primitives that are universally applicable to different types of devices in the IoT for the provision of both authentication and session key generation. The paper presents a security analysis of the proposed scheme to show that the security primitives are a suitable fit and strongly support the system design goals.","PeriodicalId":427270,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123370536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quest for higher conversion efficiency and reduction in environmental impact has been a driving force for realizing stable and efficient operation of entrained flow coal gasification. However, inherent uncertainty in process variables has been a challenge in efficient process design and operation. In this study, the effect of process uncertainty on conversion effieciency and environmental impact of the process model is studied. In this regard, data is generated through interfacing of MATLAB®-Excel® -Aspen® from an Aspen PLUS® based model of the entrained flow coal gasification. The data is used to develop a data-driven model of the process. Then sensitivity analysis methods, i.e., Sobol and Fourier Amplitude sensitivity test, are used to analyse the effect of each individual process variables on the target variables, conversion efficiency and environmental impact.","PeriodicalId":427270,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134230907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These proposed block ciphers are Camellia, AES, Square and Hierocrypt in which S-box over binary Galois field with n-input is used. Now with the passage of time it is necessary to increase the security of these blocks ciphers by increasing the key space which can be increased by generalizing this concept over non-binary Galois field with n-input. In this paper, we have designed an innovative techniques through which we can easily find element of nonlinear component of block cipher namely S-box through a single expression instead of matrix algebraic computations. Our main idea here is to reduce the computational complexity while performing calculations for S-box which is one of the most important nonlinear components for any modern block ciphers. Also, we have transformed our existing problem of being using matrix algebra to a symbolic single expression algebra which reduces the tedious calculations of S-boxes.","PeriodicalId":427270,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121849643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
