Design Thinking, a dynamic problem-solving framework, offers a student-centred approach to education that places learners at the forefront. This article further investigates the ideation phase, where creativity in language use is encouraged through technology integration and interactive activities. These practices align with 21st-century skill development, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication. Prototyping, another crucial Design Thinking stage, finds application in project-based learning activities that tangibly reinforce language skills while offering real-world context. The author explores the theories of testing phase that empowers students to apply language competence beyond the classroom, emphasizes the practical value of language acquisition. By examining the confluence of Design Thinking principles with ELT, this article discusses the potential to prepare students as not only proficient communicators but also as adaptable thinkers ready to navigate our interconnected world. Design Thinking, therefore, emerges as a powerful tool for transforming ELT classrooms into hubs of innovation and student empowerment.","PeriodicalId":426946,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"14 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139277846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study used Spiderman: No Way Home as the object. This study used a qualitative approach. The writer used Levinson's (1983) theory to analyze the data. In the study of deixis in the movie Spiderman: No Way Home, it was found that there are five types of deixis consisting of person, place, time, discourse, and social deixis. In this study, 1,903 tokens were found from various lexemes and deixis types. Of the total, 1,478 tokens can be identified as belonging to the category of person deixis. There are 79 tokens in the category of place deixis, 60 tokens in the category of time deixis, 259 tokens in the category of discourse deixis, and 27 tokens in the category of social deixis. It can be concluded that person deixis is more dominant than other types. Based on the analysis, character P1 most frequently uses each type of deixis in the movie Spiderman: No Way Home. P1 uses 748 person deixis, 30 time deixis, 34 place deixis, 137 discourse deixis, and 20 social deixis, with a total of 969 tokens. The use of a person, place, time, discourse, and social deixis in the film Spiderman: No Way Home is properly used as their function. After analyzing the use of words and phrases related to these aspects in the context of the movie, there is nothing inappropriate. Thus, based on the analysis of the use of a person, place, time, discourse, and social deixis in the film Spiderman: No Way Home, it can be concluded that the characters' uses have been by their functions, none of which are deviant.","PeriodicalId":426946,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"12 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139276910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

African catfish cultivation is carried out intensively with high stocking density, but some disadvantages inhibit growth. To support growth, it is done by giving a combination of fucoidan supplements with turmeric. Fucoidan and turmeric are known to increase fish growth, but there are no reports of using a combination of fucoidan and turmeric given in feed to increase fish growth. Therefore, this study wants to determine the effect of fucoidan supplementation with turmeric on the growth of African catfish. The method used was a completely randomized design with treatment B: (400 mg fucoidan + 1350 mg turmeric extract) kg-1 feed, C: (800 mg fucoidan + 1200 mg turmeric extract) kg-1 feed, D: (1200 mg fucoidan + 1050 mg of turmeric extract) kg-1 of feed and control (A), each with 4 replications. The parameters observed were weight and length gain, survival growth rate (SGR), feed conversion rate (FCR), and feed efficiency (FE). Data were analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 95% confidence level and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the combination of fucoidan supplementation with turmeric significantly increased (p <0.05) weight and length growth, SGR, FCR, and FE. The addition of fucoidan supplements with turmeric can be used to cultivate African catfish with an optimal dose (1200 mg fucoidan + 1050 mg turmeric extract) kg-1 feed.","PeriodicalId":426946,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"308 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114711910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is caused by bacteria from Aeromonas genus, such as Aeromonas hydrophila. A safe alternative treatment for pathogenic bacteria is the use of antibacterial compounds made from natural ingredients. The Excoecaria agallocha mangrove extract is one of potential alternatives that is useful as natural antimicrobials due to its various contents of antibacterial bioactive compounds. The objective of this study was to determine the antimicrobial activity of E. agallocha mangrove extract in inhibiting the growth of A. hydrophila. The research method was experimental with complete randomized design and factorial pattern of 3 factors (type of plant organ, bacterial strain, and concentration of extract), in 48 treatments and 3 replications. The solvents used consisted of methanol (polar) and n-hexane (non-polar). The plant organs used included leaves and stems. The bacterial strains consisted of GPl-04, GB-01, GL-01, GL-02, GJ-01, and GK-01 with concentrations of leaves and stems extracts of 0, 10, 20, and 30%. The parameter measured was the diameter of inhibition zone, which was done by using disc paper (Kirby Bauer method). Non-parametric Kruskall-Wallis Test and qualitative-descriptive data analysis were applied. The methanol extract of E. agallocha leaves in GJ-01 strain at 10 and 20% concentrations had antimicrobial activity with inhibition zone in 2.55 mm and 2.46 mm, respectively. The n-hexane extract of E. agallocha stem at 20 and 30% concentrations had antimicrobial activity with inhibition zones of 1.88 mm in GPl-04 strain and 1.58 mm in GB-01 strain, respectively. Extract of E. agallocha mangrove exhibited potential as a natural antibacterial to prevent aeromoniasis in fish.","PeriodicalId":426946,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123972194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, it is urgent to find ways to instill morals (akhlak) in students, youth, and university students so that they can become trustworthy citizens of their community and country in the future. The national character education is very much in accordance with noble moral education. Akhlak to Allah means refraining from idolatry and worshiping deities other than Him. Akhlak to Prophet of God includes loving and glorifying, following and obeying, and reciting shalawat and salam on him. Akhlak to parents includes serving both parents well, speaking gently, respecting them, expressing gratitude for their kindness, being devout children, and praying for them.","PeriodicalId":426946,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130101704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Educational thinkers (including moral and charac¬ter education) such as: (1) Thomas Lickona; (2) Ki Hadjar Dewantara, and (3) Lawrence Kohlberg, define the concept of education as having different emphases, but they essentially also have the same view, namely that education emphasizes the goal of making students intellectually and morally good, national character, noble character, and carried out through a learning process with directed procedures and adequate infrastructure. By conducting qualitative research-case studies in several schools, the results obtained are that there are seve¬ral alternatives to overcome moral decadence behavior, including: a) Supervision; b) provide character education; c) law enforcement as fair as possible; d) improve religious and character education or moral or character education; e) attention from all parties, the government, the education office (in particular), practitioners, schools, especially parents of students.","PeriodicalId":426946,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114175156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
