More specially, it treats the venturer’s financial contribution as based on a number of human resources management related practices. Overall, the reached results, relevant to a sample involving 150 companies proved to indicate that the financial participation of this mode of financial intermediation turns out to be partially associated with a social contribution. In effect, it has been discovered that a number of the advanced practices, suggested as social contribution relating measures, do not prove to stand as part of the changes targeted by the venture capitalist to take place in a bid to enhance the firm’s social performance, nor were they intended to further improve the added values already achieved. Actually, such a strategy could well reflect some special features characterize the Tunisian venture capital mode of financing.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127771617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is primarily based on 178 listed firms from different industrial sectors in Malaysia, wherein IFRS had finally been implemented in 2008. For more adequate estimations and requisite results, we have included data of eight years i.e., 4 years before the implementation of IFRS and 4 years after its implementation, in our sample. Our results showed positive association between IFRS and REM, accordingly, precisely suggesting that after the implementation of IFRS, these firms were found to be engaged more in less detectable REM, and also exhibiting quite a poor financial reporting quality apparently below international standards.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114610100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study considers agility at three stages: supply, manufacturing, and distribution. It applies structural equation modelling to examine the impact of major determinants as strategic partnership, information sharing, resilience, sourcing flexibility, and order fulfillment flexibility on stage-wise agility in the supply chain. The analysis has uncovered that manufacturing agility is affected by all the determinants while supply agility is not affected by any constructs of flexibility of sourcing and order fulfillment in the Indian garment industry. Distribution agility is significantly affected by all the determinants but information sharing and resilience, which can be caused by infrastructure constraints in the Indian conditions. The research provides important implications for practitioners and researchers.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121101878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Online media are becoming popular because they are convenient and easy to access although users may not trust them as much as the offline media. A total of 109 respondents participated in a survey on their interest and trust in various online and offline media. There are diverse attitudes to different online media. Facebook (as an example of social media) and official webpages (as examples of owned media) are the most interesting and trusted online media while blogs (as examples of informal diary style textual posts) and eBay (as an example of e-commerce platform) are the least interesting and trusted online media. In addition, trust and interest in media are found to be moderately correlated. Thus, consumers feel interested in advertising on trusted media. Besides, the result of the perceived truthiness test with 92 subjects reveals that repeated exposure to product information cannot increase the degree of trust in advertising messages. To choose a suitable medium for advertising is more important than increasing the frequency of advertising.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130288665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Five major merger cases in India during 2000 to 2005 were examined to measure the pre- and post-merger efficiency to achieve the purpose of this study. Secondary data were obtained from bulletins and reports of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was employed to calculate efficiency. The study found efficiency gains in four merger cases except the merger of the Oriental Bank of Commerce with the Global Trust Bank. The findings of the study suggest that market driven mergers boost and forced mergers lead to a decline in the efficiency of banks.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126756795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the demonetization announcement in India (8 November 2016) money became a significant source of stress. It is documented that this announcement had various effects on individual, social, and economic levels. The data of shareholders’ returns from before and after demonetization for 60 months from October 2012 to November 2017 were collected using a capital line database. The results depict that demonetization ruined shareholders’ wealth for 12 months. However, in the long run it gives investors very attractive returns.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133803117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Structural equation modelling was applied to analyse the data of 230 households. The measurement model confirmed the appropriateness of the considered constructs and variables to estimate statistical relationships among the recognized variables. The structural model emphasized that factors such as environmental awareness, attitude to recycling, social pressure, and rules and regulations positively affect the behavioural intentions to recycle e-waste while the inconvenience and cost of recycling affect it negatively in Sri Lanka. Apart from that the moderating effect stresses that previous experience in ER reduces the inconvenience of recycling and therefore past experience of ER indirectly increases the perception of ER. This study also highlights that socio-economic factors such as education, age, household size, gender, and income significantly affect the behavioural intentions to recycle e-waste and the impact of these demographic factors varies across the urban, rural, and state sectors.","PeriodicalId":426560,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Empirical Research","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126791825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
