{"title":"DESIGN ATTRIBUTE PREFERENCES FOR SANTINIKETAN LEATHER BAGS","authors":"Sanjib Kumar Das, Dushyant Dave","doi":"10.29121/shodhkosh.v4.i2se.2023.490","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.29121/shodhkosh.v4.i2se.2023.490","url":null,"abstract":"As a consequence of the retail-globalization through e-commerce platforms and social media, both domestic & international market opportunities have widened many folds for the Santiniketan Leather Bags, but at the same time the market have become intensely competitive with customers having a wide range of options. It is evident that in a highly competitive market, consumer focused product design is considered as a key competitive edge. This research aims to establish the relationship between product design and consumer preferences of Santiniketan leather bags based on various design attributes like silhouette, size, colour, function, and features. The study was conducted in two steps with the first step was to classify the design attributes based on existing product trends and demand collected from diverse sources like retailers, designers, artists, and manufacturers. Designs of the bags were thereafter sectioned into several benchmarking factors based on various attributes of design and variants of the same. In the second step, a descriptive cross-sectional consumer survey was performed to understand the consumer’s criteria of preferences. The outcome of the survey indicates clear inadequacy in the present design compositions of Santiniketan leather bags in the context of design trend and consumer preferences. The study concluded with proposing a preferential matrix for the stakeholders to design new bags meeting customers’ perception. Dhavalesvara temple is a significant Shaiva Shrine of the Cuttack district of the state of Odisha. This temple is very famous shrine in that locality, for which, a good number of devotees come to visit this shrine. Old sculptures of different deities of both Saivism and Vaishnavism are also found to be preserved in the temple site, for which the site of the temple is considered as ‘Hari-Hara pitha’. This temple initially consisted of vimana and jagamohana. In later period, natamandapa as well as bhogamandapa were also added to the main temple. The artistic as well as religious aspects of the Dhavalesvara temple represent a noteworthy Shaiva shrine of the medieval Odisha. The original Parvati image in the northern side parsvadevata niche is not noticed, in that place a Mahisamardini Durga image is inserted as side deity. The six armed and three headed image of Kartikeya is unique in the study of Odishan art tradition. The extant preserved old loose sculptures of the temple suggest us that these were probably collected from the local areas for the purpose of worship. Most of the loose sculptures are not in intact, so their identifications are not possible properly due to mutilation of images. All the images of different periods were finely executed by the Kalingan School of artists. The excessive and prolonged use of online games can result in physical, social, and psychological problems, such as poor sleep habits, decreased physical activity, and increased levels of stress and anxiety. In severe cases, it can lead to social isolation, poor academic performance. The issue of online gaming addiction has become a public health concern and requires attention from parents, educators, and health professionals. In this study researcher adapt quantitative methodology and collected data through survey method. Researcher selected the first year under graduate students from Sathyabama institute of science and technology, Chennai as sample for this study. His art works hold a very wonderful charm that everyone who sees them, tends to get mesmerized. He was born in the year 1958 in a village close to Dehradun. He did his primary and secondary education from Dehradun itself. After that he shifted to Rishikesh for his BA (Bachelor’s In arts) and then did his B.F.A (Bachelor’s in fine arts) from Lucknow University. He completed his BFA in 1985 as the top performer in the entire college. After that he went to Jaipur for further studies and from there itself his actual journey of becoming one of the finest artist of India started. He came up with new Creativity, New experiments, and a whole new series of his art works. Many of them were exhibited at Lalit Kala academy Jaipur in 1988 and it received a lot of appreciation. His paintings also used to depict an essence of Sufi assembly. He was also quite influenced by the great poet \"Kabir\" and did made many art works that used to portray Kabir's sayings. And that's how he got to know about the power of experimantalism. His art works also used to depict an essence of mother nature. And gradually he understood his areas of strength. With the power of his imagination and experiments he started his own journey of failures and success.With time he started making his art works in different mediums like Metal, Board ceramic, Tera Cota, Wood steel, Glass, brass and what not. He tried everything that was possible whatever seemed not. made it possible too. Not only in India but his art works started receiving appreciation from other countries too. Became an international name. He was also bestowed with National awards. Now he started with a different form that was modern art works but with a traditional touch. His series were also named as \" Taana-Baana\". With years of hard work, risk taking abilities, with power of his imagination and experiments he became a sensation. And was always appreciated for his great ideas and designs. He was also called to visit various countries. He was also a professor in School of Art and served their from 1988 till 2004. He tool VRS and then decided to be a free artist. His years of hard work got him many awards, scholarships, and Fellowships. In 2013, impressed with his hard work and dedication, The Uttarakhand government proposed an idea to make a museum for him with all his art works installed. It was inaugurated in 2016. And in 2018 this great man departed from this world, leaving behind a whole big Era. Moreover, the study highlights the lack of equipped auditoriums and the need to import amplification equipment, leading to increased costs for organizers. This study employs a qualitative approach to explore the problems faced by live music concerts in North East India. The research had qualitative interviews with concert organizers, performers, and attendees. The research further underscores the impact of weather conditions on outdoor concerts, as the region experiences frequent rain. It emphasizes the importance of having contingency plans and backup venues to ensure uninterrupted performances. Additionally, the study reveals the limited culture of purchasing concert tickets among the local population, requiring tailored ticket distribution strategies. These findings shed light on the complexities of organizing successful live music concerts in North East India and provide insights for concert organizers, policymakers, and local artists.
