Paradoxically, dry-stone structures are numerous in Catalonia, especially in the countryside, while also forming part of road infrastructures, some of them built on dry-stone banks and bridges. The loss of the technique, along with the abandonment of these structures, has led to an inability to maintain and restore them. At the same time, it’s also a technique that has proven to be useful in overcoming the challenges facing contemporary architecture, in keeping with the SDGs defined by the United Nations and contained in the 2030 Agenda, and it was included on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2018. Through multiple lines of work, the COL·LABORAxPAISATGE project contributes to the enhancement of this heritage, trade and technique as a means for the development of rural areas. This has resulted in countless programs, courses, etc., that pretend to help the designer, be it architectural, advertising, product, packaging or others (Ulrich, R. S. 1999) to appropriately impact the experience of the end user; tendencies such as biophilia, neuromarketing, user centered design, the influence of color in a space (Aseel AL-Ayash, Robert T. Kane, Dianne Smith, Paul Green-Armytage, 2016), or the impact on behavior and the brain when observing works of art (Kendall J. Eskine, Natalie A. Kacinik, Jesse J. Prinz, 2012), are intended to give us answers based on the neurology and physiology of perception/emotion. Nevertheless, it is hard to separate science from pseudoscience, and even to organize into a useful model the copious scientific information available. The objective is to present a theoretical model that incorporates and synthesizes the state of knowledge in this field, to facilitate its application in the diverse art and design disciplines; this will help both the creator-artist to have a better understanding of their process and comprehension of their work, as well as the designer, to be able to predict the impact their projects will have upon the audience they are directed towards. We are talking from photographers and painters, to architects and illustrators, etc. The methodology consists mainly in the exegesis — and organization of the material resulting thereof — of basic text on this field. In this talk, we present the Theory of Emotive Reactions model, that has been developing in Tijuana since the beginning of this century, we give a shallow explanation of its scientific foundations, we point out its correlation with the state of knowledge and we present the basic principles for its application in the diverse artistic and design disciplines. Several aspects relative to the production and management of the different types of waste produced in dental offices have a negative impact on humans and on the environment. In light of this, the present paper sought to evaluate the volume of waste generated by three facilities of a network of dental clinics. Through a qualitative approach, a questionnaire was drawn up with open questions to be answered by three dental clinics. The questionnaires were collected in the month of October 2020, and the respondents were collaborators of three companies based in the cities of Marau, Dom Pedritoand São Gabriel, located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. In the sequence, after getting all necessary information, the following steps were taken: the transcription of the answers, a descriptive analysis of collected data and the interpretation of the results. It was ascertained that in all dental clinics investigated, the collection and disposal procedures are similar. It was concluded that among the waste generated by the facilities, the one that requires the most care is general waste, like paper, cardboard boxes, plastic wrap, due to the amount discarded and the lack of a management plan for recycling this type of waste, seeing that there is no selective collection in most municipalities. Road networks are important features on topographic base maps. They are sensitive to scale change, therefore multiple representations are required to maintain visual and geographic logic at smaller scales. This paper focuses on the characteristics, hierachies, constraint parameters and automated generalization of the road features on the topographic base map at different scales. The generalization steps were implemented in ArcGIS Model Builder using mentioned out-of-the-box functionality, which removes features by feature hierarchy and network connectivity, yet preserves characteristic urban local density patterns that can be lost through simple category removals. The tool and constraint parameters are used to automatically generalize road networks from maps scale of 1: 2,000 to scales of 1:10,000 area of Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Research result shows that using reasonable parameters and tools could provide a good way to generalize and create base map layers meeting different demands and building multi-purpose map database in the future. The evaluation was carried out in Tarma, Junín Region. A breeding ground was built with 3.2 m3 cement bricks (6.10 m long  1.05 m wide and 0.50 m high); with a 5 cm thick screed with a 2” PVC drain pipe with a west-east slope, raised by the west side at 15°. A population of 10,000 individuals (10 kilograms) was sown, a sample of 370 individuals was extracted by applying a Simple Random Sampling (MAS) whose average weight and length was 0.3 g and 30 mm. they were fed for 3 months (90 days), the calf was divided into 21 sampling points from which 383 worms were weighed and measured whose average weight and length were 0.38 g and 33.24 mm (3.32 cm). Data were taken every day at 2:00 pm, hydrogen potential (pH) and humidity (soil peach meter), substrate temperature (digital thermometer), ambient temperature (thermohygrometer) were recorded. The average weight of the worms varied from 0.30-0.38 g, the average length varied from 30-33.24 mm. The presence of tiny heels and worms demonstrated their adaptability. The production of humus was 3 tons, the efficiency of the breeding stock was 93.75%. The final substrate had an average of 6.72 pH, 13.61°C temperature, 69.86% humidity and 19.5°C ambient temperature. Consequently, vermicompost is an alternative in the treatment of organic solid waste to be developed in high Andean areas.","PeriodicalId":424774,"journal":{"name":"Modern Environmental Science and Engineering","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131686273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The city of Stuttgart in Germany is known for its unique topography and air quality problems making it a very interesting place to investigate the impact of topography and thermal induced wind systems on the air quality. Stuttgart city center is surrounded by hills, elevated plains where cold air masses are produced during nights with autochthonous weather situations. Due to the varying topography, these cold air masses stream through valleys and gullies into the city centre. In this study, a stationary monitoring station was installed at Marienplatz, Stuttgart where the cold airflows from the valleys and gullies are collected together and enter the city, hence making it the optimum location for this investigation. The air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOX, NO, NO2), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), Particulate Matter (PM) and Black Carbon (BC) were monitored continuously along with the meteorological parameters such as air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation intensity and global radiation from March 2017 till now. In this paper, the results from March 2017 until December 2019 are presented. The influence of wind speed and wind direction on the concentration of pollutants is interpreted using wind and pollution roses. Temperature roses are plotted to understand the effect of cold airflows that bring fresh and cold air into the city. The traffic data for the federal highway passing by the monitoring station are obtained and the pollutant concentrations are related to the traffic, as it is the dominant source of emission in the city. Its purpose is to present an overview of the possibilities and initial challenges to be overcome for its implementation in Mozambique. For the development of this article, a bibliographical survey of the world panorama of technology was made. As a result of this literary survey, it was understood that the concept of smart grids became more clear from 2005 and is developing. Some countries, mainly developed, have already joined the technology and they are with the pilot projects and realized. The motivations for its implementation vary from country to country. Increasing profits in the electricity sector, reducing energy technical losses, improving the environment and enhancing renewable energy are the main motivations. This technology brings benefits associated with technological innovation, new product development and new market opportunities. At the moment, it’s understood that, Mozambique is not in time to implement this technology effectively. Not only because many countries are still with pilot projects, but also, the financial costs for their implementationarehigh. However, although there are presumed difficulties for its implementation, it’s considered convenient to start with the discussions about smart grids in higher education and research institutions, fund mobilization and implementation of testing laboratories. Additionally, it is important to study the possibility of phased implementation of this technology in new condominiums or residential neighborhoods and to gain experience in countries that have already started to implement it.","PeriodicalId":424774,"journal":{"name":"Modern Environmental Science and Engineering","volume":"68 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120846472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
