With both HIV and ART being linked to CVDs in similar mechanisms, there is not yet an established relationship between ART and CVDs using adherence in people living with HIV (PLWH). The use of adherence may help shed light on understanding whether the CVDs are a result of ART or HIV due to poor adherence. Henceforth, the aim of this paper was to explore the possible relationship between ART adherence and CVDs. Based on evidence from the literature, there is convincing evidence to suggest that CVDs in people on ART are from HIV itself as a result of uncontrolled viremia due to poor adherence to ART.","PeriodicalId":42453,"journal":{"name":"African Journal of Nursing and Midwifery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135642254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: The objective of this research is to determine what strategies are most useful for empowering nurses to take on leadership roles in a hospital setting. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted, utilising Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA). The databases that were featured are PubMed, CINAHL, and Google Scholar from 2011 to 2023. A quality appraisal was used to assess the quality of the studies. Result: There were 97 articles found in a literature search. A total of eight articles met the inclusion criteria. Conclusion: The evidence shows that interventions to improve nurses’ leadership are complex and need to address cognitive, interpersonal as well as psychological empowerment, emotional intelligence, and critical reflexivity skills. Multicomponent, theory-based, and mixed-format programmes may be better suited to facilitate nurses’ leadership in the hospital setting. Nursing implications: Efforts to improve nurses’ clinical leadership in healthcare settings should take into account both their theoretical understanding of the issue and their actual experience in finding workable solutions through teamwork. As a result, it would encourage high-quality care, nurse satisfaction, and nurse retention.","PeriodicalId":42453,"journal":{"name":"African Journal of Nursing and Midwifery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135478827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also promotes the workability of instructional processes and enables connections between academic staff and upcoming professional nurses. Academic staff has to be at the forefront of the latest transforming technology. Despite many types of technologies being accessible, lecturers at the KwaZulu-Natal College of Nursing campuses are not embracing technology-based education. The aim of this study was to describe nurse educators’ attitudes and forecasts towards technology-based education in KwaZulu-Natal. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional survey research design was used. Data were collected via self-administered questionnaires from nurse educators and clinical facilitators on 10 KwaZulu-Natal College of Nursing campuses using non-probability, purposive sampling. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25 was used to analyse the data. Descriptive statistics utilising percentages, frequencies and means were also used to analyse data. Statistical tests included t-test and/or ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis as well as regression analysis. Study results indicated that mean scores for attitudes to using technology ranged from 2.76 to 6.34, while the forecast to use technology in future mean scores ranged from 6.20 to 6.45. The study results highlighted that nurse educators in KwaZulu-Natal intend to employ technology to support teaching and learning, and they have positive attitudes towards technology-based education. It is recommended that nurse educators be provided with technical support and mentorship to enable them to adopt technology-based education.","PeriodicalId":42453,"journal":{"name":"African Journal of Nursing and Midwifery","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135642032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Response Time is the speed in handling patients, calculated from the time the patient arrives until the treatment is carried out. In carrying out special health services in the emergency department, one of the indicators that must be achieved is handling the right response time to achieve the expected results. The standard response for emergency patients must be served no later than 5 (five) minutes after arriving at the emergency department. This research method is a cross sectional study to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge and response time in the Emergency Installation of the Porsea Regional Hospital, Toba Regency, which was carried out in February 2022 on 17 emergency room nurses at Porsea Regional General Hospital using a total sampling technique. The results of the study found that there was a relationship between Nurse Knowledge Levels and Response Time in the Emergency Room using the Chi-Square test, p value = 0.007, p value < (0.05). So it can be concluded Ha, which means that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of nurses and response time in the ER at the Porsea Regional Hospital in 2022.
