The research design is quantitative, measuring high school competencies e-portfolio influence on STEM career choice. It analyses the e-portfolios from 64 students in their last high school year. The competency portfolio is the compilation of evidence that demonstrate the mastery of competencies, we analyzed the most common competencies in them and relate them to the career choice. The results indicates that the perceived self-efficacy is higher in students who choose engineering areas and that projects, philanthropy actions and international experiences favors the self-efficacy perception.","PeriodicalId":424459,"journal":{"name":"2021 6th International STEM Education Conference (iSTEM-Ed)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127840966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ltd. HRS Pump production line. The objectives were to 1) develop a search and inspection kit for small equipment and tools used in the HRS Pump production line; 2) assess the efficiency of the search and inspection kit; and 3) determine the user satisfaction level utilizing the developed search and inspection kit for small equipment and tools. The research tools include 1) iBeacon technology-based search and inspection kits for small devices; 2) an assessment form for experts; and 3) a satisfactory assessment form for users. The findings revealed that 1) the test result of a search and inspection kit for small equipment and tools in the HRS Pump production line, including an iBeacon transmitter, scanner receiver, data store, and web display, is within the acceptable range; 2) the qualitative testing result from experts revealed that the developed search and inspection kit is efficient; and 3) the users were most satisfied with the developed search and inspection kit. It can be concluded that this developed search and inspection kit for small equipment and tools used in the HRS Pump production line can be operated in actual industrial applications and the technology installed in the developed kit has no effect on other equipment and tools, and promotes faster and more efficient work.","PeriodicalId":424459,"journal":{"name":"2021 6th International STEM Education Conference (iSTEM-Ed)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115645606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A student-centered education is used with the efforts for understanding the analytical thinking on basic electronics in order to develop the soft-skills of students within knowledge management. Based on the digital real-world, the electronic devices are applied widely on many applications while basic electronics is ignored. The objective of this paper is to introduce mainly the basic electronics on computer engineering course. Based on OBL approach, the teaching effectiveness and student outcomes are evaluated by the results of assessment. Results show that students can achieve the basic knowledge on electronics, even it is hard to improve the analytical thinking within a course of basic electronics. Moreover, this development is a fundamental knowledge for the computer engineering students to create an innovation in the electrical engineering field for the future.","PeriodicalId":424459,"journal":{"name":"2021 6th International STEM Education Conference (iSTEM-Ed)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114414773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiment “What is the best way to boil water?” asked students to explore the energy efficiency of various heating devices they had at home such as electric kettles, electric stoves, rice cookers, and microwave ovens. Students also designed experiment to investigate variables that could influence the value of energy efficiency. This home-based activity led to a diverse experimental design with each group using different equipment and procedure. The online discussion provided an opportunity for collaborative learning. Students could gain further insight to the technical problem of saving energy in boiling water by comparing results from other groups. In addition, the discussion session also served as a forum for other relating issues such as energy waste from human behavior.","PeriodicalId":424459,"journal":{"name":"2021 6th International STEM Education Conference (iSTEM-Ed)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124147566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the COVID-19 situation, having the professional experience training onsite as usual couldn't be done. So, the redesigned of training process has been made into the online version for students by using virtual practicum system, by assigning online electrical work which is as practical as the actual onsite one to students under their residential conditions, which will analyze the 8 electrical operations in total. The research has 37 participants, which are students at professional certificate level in Electrical Power, Chitralada Vocational School, Chitralada Technology Institute. The participants have been divided into 2 groups; first group, 22 students with professional experience training by using virtual practicum comparing with the second group, 15 students with professional experience training onsite. The process consists of 5 steps; Preparation, Accepting the assignments, Reporting the performances, Following up, and Evaluation. The professional experience training using virtual practicum in the academic year B.E. 2563 has the achievement averagely at 80.82%, which studied and compared the achievement with students who had professional experience training onsite in academic year B.E. 2562; averagely at 78.93%. From the result, it is found that at the statistical significance of 0.05, the average achievement of the virtual practicum isn't different comparing to the actual training, showing that the virtual practicum is as practical as the onsite training and can be used for students to gain experience and skills instead of the onsite training in the future.","PeriodicalId":424459,"journal":{"name":"2021 6th International STEM Education Conference (iSTEM-Ed)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129223908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
