We consider four topologies: random graph; small-world graph; nested small-world graph; and lattice graph. These graphs are utilized to generate hundreds of synthetic networks with given topology and adequately generated static and dynamic data. Then, each network is simulated based on a Monte Carlo method and considering random contingencies and different levels of inertia. The case study allows drawing some remarkable conclusions on the correlation between power system stability and topology.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121604113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Indonesia, the use of LED lamps increased sharply since the last four years, replacing CFL lamps. The most commonly found pc-WLEDs in the market are Blue-emitting LED coated with yellow phosphor based on silicon matrix. Many literature studies performed accelerated artificial aging of phosphor/silicon composite using oven and thermal plate. The consensus is to use a temperature of 85 °C. This study investigates medium term degradation failure mechanisms of phosphor/silicon material and found that such effect can be observed at ambient temperature. Different degradation modes were also identified.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115745290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If conventional protective schemes fail to save the power system against wide-area blackout, some cutsets are selected to keep the system operating while feeding essential loads. This paper investigates the effect of the number of partitions on the dynamic performance of controlled islanding and proposes a unified algorithm to identify the coherent generators, optimal cutsets, and timing of islanding in online applications. The algorithm provides an islanding solution with minimum power flow disruption while each island contains coherent groups of generators. The concept of Centre of Inertia (COI) referred angles of generators has been used to determine the critical timing of islanding. Different scenarios in NE 39-bus and IEEE 118-bus test systems were simulated in PowerFactory that led to instability in the power system, and then controlled islanding schemes with a different number of partitions were applied to create stable islands. To better demonstrate the shortcomings of the existing clustering techniques, the effect of the number of required islands on transient stability of controlled islanding and the necessity of devising an automatic method to recognise the number of islands is discussed.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132082022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different topologies of VAR compensators with voltage regulators are analyzed. An example of sinusoidal voltage regulator realization based on a transformer with a controlled transformer ratio is considered. The realizing of transformer with controlled transformer ratio is proposed based on a multiple-winding transformer with sectioned winding and a controlled commutator. Examples of VAR compensator circuits based on transformer with sectioned winding and thyristor’s commutator are analyzed. Mathematical models of VAR compensators in Matlab Simulink program are developed and modeling results are presented.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134561978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The producibility data was measured, recorded, analysed, filtered and monthly aggregated. Moreover, the incidence of the ambient temperature and of the mirrors cleaning on producibility data is highlighted and a procedure to normalize the measured data in temperature and cleaning level was developed. To provide a validation of the developed procedure the producibility curves at 25 °C have been obtained and compared with the one issued by the manufacturer. The two curves are in good agreement, presenting a maximum deviation of the 7 %.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"250 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129394055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The operational principles and the equivalent circuits considering the effect of ZVS capacitor and the deadband on the soft switching operation range of DAB converter are discussed. Based on the solution of the differential equation of the circuit during the deadband, the sufficient constraints of the input and output bridge for software switching are calculated. The results show that, the minimum value of the phase shift needed to achieve ZVS decreases with increase in the output voltage. Increasing the value of phase shift will also increase the ZVS range and reduces switching losses. The simulation results have been provided under various operating conditions, which confirms the theoretical analysis of the proposed system. The result also showed the circuit behavior during the deadband, and the waveforms are obtained. Finally, theoretical considerations and simulation results for different operating stages are verified by MATLAB/ SIMULINK.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133549139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focus on identifying the parameters for CLOD composite models that are widely used in power industry to represent major loads in dynamic simulations. This model accounts for the diversity of load components by representing a variety of elements, including large and small motors and static loads. We use evolutionary-based optimization methods to minimize the error between PMU measurements and dynamic PSS/E simulations for fault-induced voltage events. We compare the simulations results obtained using optimized load models with those of generic models that are often used in the industry. We provide simulation results based on real-life data from Alberta’s electrical power system.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132099763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the work proposes an investigation study in a DC microgrid based on the identification of the differential mode impedance as a reference model, more than on the diagnosis of the degradation of the passive components and in particular the filter capacitors. The model presents the whole system which allows it to monitor the state of the whole cell. It facilitates the maintenance of the installation in the preventive as corrective and increases the system reliability. The surface temperature of the power cable is estimated to calculate the internal conductor temperature and the current rating capacity. Firstly, the principle of testing is introduced, which is the principle of temperature testing of the optical cable bundled on the power cable surface using the Brillouin optical time domain reflectometer tester. Secondly, the power cable current rating experiment was designed. The power cable is bundled on the surface of the 10 meter optical cable. The BOTDA distributed temperature tester is attached to both ends of the power cable to monitor the power cable surface, record the surface temperature of the power cable, and route the power cable through cable heater. Use the power cable heat cycling test system to heat the power cable, the temperature of cable conductor is monitored by a thermocouple, and clamp current meter monitors the current rating capacity of the conductor, changes the regulation value of the through transformer, recording the temperature and load of the power cable conductor. Finally, this method of bundling the optical cable on the power cable surface was verified, which provided an experimental basis for submarine cable temperature monitoring.","PeriodicalId":422977,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115106913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
