Feedback applications are areas of receiving comments from users, listening to complaints or presenting suggestions on process design regarding available services. Here, “Write to us”, “Online Chat”, “Like or Dislike Buttons” and “Comment sites” are applications designed to get feedback. It is important how these applications work and how obtained data is stored and interpreted in terms of determining the level of interaction between the municipality and the citizen.
 In the study, first of all, citizen participation and e-participation, one of the participation methods, will be explained conceptually. In the study, feedback applications on the websites of 11 District Municipalities, including Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality, and communication lines used for feedback will be examined; interviews will be held with the administrative staff who collect and report the feedback, it will be evaluated in which aspects the feedbacks are reflected in the applications. In the study, feedback applications were tested and the work of the information processing units was observed on site, especially as a participant observer. Accessibility of feedback applications, ease of use, response times of municipalities were determined and advantageous aspects for participation were listed.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135135105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is accepted that the source of climate problems is human activities. So, the solution to the problem should start from the settlements where the population is concentrated. For this reason, the cities where most of the world's population live to stand out as the places where the problem and the solution begin. This study approaches the global climate change problem in terms of cities. The study primarily put emphasis on the role of cities in solving climate problems. The aim of the study is to define the concept of a climate-smart city and its components and to emphasize that climate-smart urban development and planning should rise on four components. The study focuses on an example of a climate-smart urban space project developed by the Municipality of Malmö in an area called Hyllie. In the study, the stages of a climate-smart urban development are analyzed by evaluating Malmö Municipality's policies, reports, plans, and programs regarding Hyllie.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135134568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consumers exhibit purchasing behaviour to improve self-preception and raise their social status even in the basence of basic need. The tendency to conspicuous consumption, brand sense, and brand awareness process eventually affect brand preference. The primary purpose of this research was to investigate this mechanism and how conspicuous consumption affects brand sense and brand awareness. The study sample consisted of 922 consumers shopping in the apparel sector in the Marmara region. Significant results were obtained by analyzing a survey conducted over the Internet. There were positive effects of the conspicuous consumption trend in the apparel sector on brand preference coupled with mediatory effects of brand sense and brand awareness.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133495645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This organismic perspective of food constitutes the general acceptance of its treatment as a gastronomic phenomenon. However, the process in which food turns into something desired by the individual reveals the importance of evaluating it on social and historical grounds. Although food is perceived in certain regularities of the things to be consumed in terms of its objective dimension, the set of memories and experiences associated with it requires looking at food in terms of its social ground. The food in the memories turns into the food in the minds in an indirect way. In this case, it also enables the formation of some narratives on food in the collective memory. Therefore, the evaluation of food in the context of collective memory helps to benefit from the explanations of the phenomenological theory, especially in the context of its static and dynamic structures on social and historical shaping. In this article, it has been tried to develop a sociological perspective on food, with a special focus on ashura. the items here have helped in analyzing how the food is formed in the collective memory, how the social and historical situation is formed in terms of its static and dynamic structure through the food in the context of this collective memory and ultimately what kind of differentiation between social groups all this opens the door to. The conclusion reached in this article is that, in this sense, ashura, as a dish, takes place in the collective memories of social groups in different ways. Country image has been studied from a cognitive dominant perspective and most of the scales measuring this construct has failed to capture affective aspects of it. This study intents to provide a more accurate conceptual framework for the country image construct and provide some insights into the measurement of this concept for future studies. In this study, it is identified that country image consists of cognitive and affective elements in which fifteen sub-dimensions of this concept have been reached. It is determined that cognitive oriented development of the literature causes a major threat to the validity of the studies because studies have mostly applied cognitive dominant perspectives/scales and attributed the results to general country image. As a result of this study, new definition of country image is proposed, and it is thought that this concept has been placed on a more concrete and valid theoretical ground. As a result of the content analysis of the qualitative data and literature review, an item pool composed of 85 items were proposed. Future studies with an intention to measure country image with its cognitive and affective aspects can benefit the findings of this study.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134085947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While skilled people leave their countries, they always prefer to emigrate to developed places. Developed countries have “selected temporary skilled migration programs” to attract skilled people. The USA is very successful in attracting human capital and qualified people The first brain drain from Turkey to the USA started with doctors and engineers in the 1960s and still continues. In this study, H-1B Visa Turkish holders representing the highly skilled labor and human development index elements data between 1996 and 2019 were used. For this reason, most of them should search for these advantages in foreign markets. On the other hand, emerging market firms have specific governance structures which can facilitate some ownership advantages to internationalize. This study proposes that emerging market firms could also have ownership advantages at a threshold level that enhance their internationalization level. Moreover, business group affiliation and ownership concentration would have moderating roles in this positive relation. Accordingly, World Bank Enterprise Surveys database is used for sample formation. Hypotheses of the study are tested with a sample of Turkish firms that cover 4159 firm-year observations between 2008-2019. According to statistical findings, a negative relationship between ownership advantages and internationalization level is found for emerging market firms. However, there is no significant moderating effects of business group affiliation and ownership concentration.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131780785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
