As private employment agencies represent a relatively new phenomenon in the modern labor market, this research aims to examine these concepts quantitatively. This research investigates the relationship between demographic characteristics and perceptions of boundaryless, protean and subjective career success among employees of private employment agencies.
 The sample for this study consisted of 895 employees affiliated with private employment agencies in Istanbul. Research hypotheses were examined using exploratory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, t-tests, and ANOVA. The results of this study revealed statistically significant differences in perceptions of boundaryless career attitude and subjective career success as a function of gender, age, education, marital status, and income level. However, no statistically significant differences were observed in perceptions of protean career attitudes across any demographic variable. Furthermore, the findings of this study have the potential to inform human resources, recruitment, and career planning practices.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135804441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aims to analyze the adequacy and effectiveness of education expenditures and educational aid provided within the scope of social assistance compared to EU countries. As a method in the study, within the framework of the general screening research model, education aid data within the scope of education expenditures and social protection expenditures in Turkey were analyzed, and these data were assessed comparatively with social protection expenditures in the European Union countries. Considering that the majority of social protection aid in Turkey is generally allocated to general health insurance premiums, pensions for the elderly and disabled, and home care services, the payments made to families with disadvantaged children remain low in terms of both the number of beneficiaries and the total allowance. Compared to EU countries, it seems that the share allocated to families and children remains low in social protection expenditures, and there needs to be increased social aid expenditures in favor of families and children, as in the EU, and to increase the general amount of social aid.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135767137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Increasing concern about the environment has forced people to be more conscious about the environment. The fact that the carbon footprint of all activities can be tracked has made consumers more environmentally conscious. Since most consumer products are packaged, their carbon footprint is not only dependent on the product itself, but also on its packaging. In order to reduce the environmental footprint of a product, it is necessary to change both the internal and external characteristics of the product (such as packaging) (Magnier et al., 2016). When the environmental activities of the companies are combined with the environmental attitudes of the consumers, more environmental products and initiatives have emerged. It is known that the marketing activities carried out by the companies affect the perception and behavior of the consumers. When the literature is examined, it is seen that the clues used about sustainability affect the perception of quality (Lee et al., 2013) and the items used in the packaging design affect the product perception (Becker et al., 2011; Gordon et al., 1994; Mugge et al., 2014). For these reasons, when environmentally friendly packaging is considered as a packaging feature, it is important to examine its effect on product quality perception. In this context, the effect of sustainable packaging on product quality perception and purchase intention will be examined within the scope of the research. In addition, environmental awareness and health awareness, which are consumer characteristics, will be tested as regulatory variables in the model. In this study, which is a quantitative research, experimental method will be used. The fact that similar studies have been carried out mostly in developed countries and that this study will be conducted in Turkey, which is a developing country, will provide the opportunity to make comparisons in terms of countries.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135767138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One fifth of the world's energy needs are provided by natural gas, due to it being the cleanest burning fossil fuel. However, as a fossil fuel, natural gas is a limited resource and requires efficient use. Therefore, planning for natural gas consumption is of great importance. The most critical input for this planning is natural gas demand forecasts. Due to the increasing importance of the subject, numerous studies on natural gas demand forecasting have been conducted in the literature. However, the scientific studies carried out in Turkey are quite limited. In this article, the current demand forecast situation in Turkey is revealed, and a data analytics approach based on big data is developed and proposed.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135767140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The three common features of these companies are listed as follows; high debt level, low profit rate and productive companies reduce their productivity. Zombie firms are defined as companies with persistently low profitability, high leverage, or negative equity capital. However, instead of defining a business as a zombie with single company data, it would be more accurate to look at bank and company level data that also show the lending relationships between credit institutions and corporate debtors. (Álvarez et al., 2023).
 In our study, companies having negative equity capital for at least three consecutive years were considered zombies, whereas these companies were selected from the ISO 1000 industrial enterprises. Particular attention was paid to ensure these companies continued to be traded on BIST. Additionally, BIST 30 companies were analyzed and stock returns and statistical evaluations were also analyzed.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135918414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There exist diverse opinions and arguments regarding how fiscal policy affects the unemployment rate from both empirical and theoretical perspective. The objective of this research is to explore the response of unemployment rate to fiscal policy shocks, namely government expenditure and tax revenue shocks. To achieve this goal, we gather annual data spanning from 1990 to 2021 for Türkiye employing recursive Structural VAR model. The results show that a tax revenue shock, corresponding to a one standard deviation change, initially results in a temporary decline in the unemployment but it positively affects the unemployment rate in the long run. Furthermore, the reaction of the unemployment to a government spending shock follows a hump-shape pattern. Hence, we can conclude that the government expenditure shock increases unemployment rate temporarily but decreases it slightly over the long term.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135646538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis is performed with the Non-linear Autoregressive Exogenous Artificial Neural Network, which is a dynamic and robust statistical method for the post-monetary union period consisting of quarterly data between 2005Q1 and 2021Q4. The results of the analysis reveal that the public debt in the Southern EU countries is robustly explained by the public debt law of motion equation with a confidence ratio of over 95%. This result implies that the public debt problem in Southern EU countries is associated with the competitiveness of these countries. In addition, the analysis goes beyond parametric analyzes that relate it to economic growth or a few variables in the estimation of public debt and uncovers the significance of inclusive variables and non-parametric analyzes included in the public debt law of motion equation in solving the problem.","PeriodicalId":422662,"journal":{"name":"Yönetim ve Ekonomi Araştırmaları Dergisi","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135900569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
