Study and replication of this modality may benefit from manualization. This article presents an outline of a manualized\u0000 approach called The Co-Active Therapeutic theatre (CoATT) model, which has been used as a successful intervention for individuals post-intensive treatment who are working towards independent recovery from eating disorders, aphasia and substance use disorders. This preliminary instruction of\u0000 CoATT emphasizes a solution-focused, manualized process to support recovery and operationalize therapeutic theatre in the service of empirical research.

This exploratory study examined four workshops based on drama therapy techniques focusing on archetypal journeys. The majority of\u0000 participants (N = 24) were Asian American adopted adults between the ages of 24 and 62 years (M age = 34.5 years). In response to an open assessment and Likert scale survey, participants reported that the workshop was both reflective and interesting, although at the same time, it was challenging\u0000 and sometimes uncomfortable. Participants noted the benefits of using their body and voice, the power of incorporating Korean language and the meaningfulness of having an ‘all-adoptee space’.

This article describes a case study of an established model, Parental-Insightfulness-Drama-Therapy (PIDT), that was adapted and used with parents\u0000 of children with ADHD. The PIDT model is a short-term group intervention that uses the power of drama to enhance parents’ ability to see things from the child’s point of view and gain a better relationship with their child. The opportunity to explore the parents’ relationship\u0000 with the child from a playful stance allowed the group participants to have a significant and diverse experience that does not ignore the objective complexity of what they deal with, and at the same time invites them to experience parenting itself as a creative and vivid act.
