Materials and Methods: 113 cadets took part in the research, which was conducted in 2017-2021. The cadets of interest attended the sports clubs in various sports: competitive sports (n=27), all-around military sports (n=16), strength sports (n=23), martial arts (n=26), strength endurance (n=21). The level of cadets’ physical health was assessed by morphological (body length, body mass, vital lung capacity, hand dynamometry) and functional (heart rate, blood pressure) indicators. Results: It was found that physical exercises and sports aimed at developing endurance and strength qualities have the greatest health-improving effect. The cadets, who during their training were engaged in all-around military sports, military pentathlon, sports orienteering, kettlebell lifting, crossfit, have the highest level of physical health characterised by 12.11-12.34 points. Conclusions: The conclusions of many scientists were confirmed that motor activities are the main factor of good human health. It was established that rationally organized training sessions in the sports clubs of the military educational institution on various types of sports have a positive health-improving effect on the cadets’ body. This, in turn, will contribute to increasing the resistance of their body to adverse environmental factors, compliance with the standards of a healthy lifestyle and improving their working capacity during the performance of assigned tasks.","PeriodicalId":42213,"journal":{"name":"Acta Balneologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69730955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: The clinical examination included 90 people who were randomized into the group of observation (n=75) with patients of AH various degrees. 15 practically healthy persons were involved into the control group. PWPV was measured using a specially designed device according to the generally accepted carotid-femoral technique. Results: Our results showed that the PWPV of healthy persons measured using original device failed to differ statistically from the literature reference values and indicated the correspondence of the measurements we obtained with the data received using traditional apparatus. Out data of original PWPV measurement obtained from examined and treated patients do not differ from the results obtained in wide range of patients aged from 40 to 70 years with the 1st -2nd stages of AH. Conclusions: We described an efficacy of PWPV determination using an original device. The use of the proposed device does not contradict with the generally accepted method of vascular stiffness measuring and studying. The results obtained on it are comparable with the data of the most used stationary device SphygmoCor for these purposes. The prospects of the device using are without the limitations in patients with vascular diseases at the stage of rehabilitation.","PeriodicalId":42213,"journal":{"name":"Acta Balneologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69733112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: A retrospective study of the 102 people’s records whose permanent disability is extended after next certification was conducted. Results: Only 31.4% persons reduced the severity of disability. The rest remained unchanged (67.6%) or deteriorated (1.0%). Permanent disability after musculoskeletal injuries is typical for men (86.3%), villagers (74.5%), working age (99.0%), of which 37.5% – men under 40 years. Near half persons (45.1%) have passed the next re-examination more than 3 times; in 52.0% ones four or more years have passed after injury; in 9.8% cases the continuation of rehabilitation is considered as hopeless. Defects in the implementation of rehabilitation measures were revealed, namely: excessive use of drugs with insufficient evidence of effectiveness (85.3-88.2%), inadequate coverage of physical therapy and occupational therapy (56.4%), a formal approach to the individual rehabilitation programs (IRP) formation, in particular in the assessment of rehabilitation potential (100.0%), the degree of movement restrictions (20.6%), social and labor rehabilitation (36.3%). Despite the fact that the majority of the observed people (86.3%) were recognized as capable for work, only 63.7% were provided with advice on rational employment, and 78.4% of them do not work. Conclusions: Improving of the rehabilitation effectiveness requires comprehensive integrated solutions at the state level in order to change approaches to assessing the degree of disability, the formation and implementation of IRP based on modern world standards.","PeriodicalId":42213,"journal":{"name":"Acta Balneologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69728028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: We studied 120 specimens of great saphenous veins from 30 patients with chronic venous disease with large-diameter (>1 cm). Patients were randomly divided into two groups. The 1st group received EVLA using wavelengths of 1470 nm, the 2nd group received EVLA using wavelengths of 1940 nm. Four specimens were taken at the level of the lower third of the thigh after laser coagulation in each patient. Vein specimens were processed for histological studies. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed to assess the degree of wall changes. Results: The share of satisfactory results when using 1470 nm laser wavelengths is 83.3%, while when using 1940 nm laser wavelengths this result is 93.3%. When using both wavelengths of laser irradiation with a GSV diameter of more than 1 cm, no unsatisfactory results are observed. Conclusions: Obtained in our study data confirmed efficacy of the 1470 and 1940 nm endovenous laser ablation in the treatment of the large size GSV (more than 10 mm). Histological exams show preferability in the 1940 nm EVLA versa 1470 nm, considering the excellent result in the uniformity of distribution and safety in the deepness of the thermal injury.","PeriodicalId":42213,"journal":{"name":"Acta Balneologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69728669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: The examined patients included 56 Helicobacter pylori (HP)-positive patients with GERD and OH of the cervical and thoracic spine. The examined patients were divided into 2 groups depending on the scheme of complex treatment. All HP-positive patients with GERD and OH underwent standard triple anti-helicobacter therapy and itopride hydrochloride. Group I patients (n=26) received only the above-mentioned regimen. Patients of the II group (n=30) were additionally prescribed 100-150 ml of “Polyana Kvasova” carbonated bicarbonate-sodium mineral water (MW) as a natural antacid, warm, still 4 times a day (1.5 hours before meals and after 45 minutes after – both in the morning and evening) within 1 month. Results: The complex therapy carried out had a positive effect on the endoscopic picture of GERD in patients with cervical and thoracic OH. The decrease in the severity of RE was accompanied by an increase in the number of GERD patients in whom the erosive form of reflux esophagitis was not detected during repeated fibroesophagogastroduodenoscopy (FEGDS) (mainly in the II group of examined patients – 10.0% of patients, p<0.05). The additional prescription of “Polyana Kvasova” MW to the complex treatment increased the frequency of eradication of HP infection by 9.2% – p<0.05 at the background of more pronounced normalization of clinical and endoscopic signs of GERD. Conclusions: 1. GERD is often manifested by atypical extraesophageal symptoms (up to 25.0-27.3% of cases) in patients with OH of the cervical and thoracic spine. 2. The use of standard triple AHT in combination with itopride hydrochloride is an effective method of correcting esophageal and extraesophageal clinical manifestations of GERD in patients with cervical and thoracic spine OH. 3. The additional prescription of “Polyana Kvasova” MW as part of the complex therapy of patients with GERD and OH of the cervical and thoracic regions is a safe, effective method for reducing clinical symptoms, the severity of esophageal lesions with repeated FEGD, and also contributes to increasing the frequency of HP infection eradication in the data patients.","PeriodicalId":42213,"journal":{"name":"Acta Balneologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69728863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of the results of examination and treatment of 40 patients with gastroduodenal pathology was carried out. For treatment, the author’s protocol of acupressure (AP) was used based on the recommendations of F.M. Houston. Statistical processing of the results was carried out according to the qualitative data analysis algorithm using the MedCalc 2022 software package. The frequency of occurrence of qualitative binary variables was analyzed with the calculation of 95% CI. To determine the effect of AP on the change in the frequency of clinical syndromes, the McNemar test for related groups was used. The assessment of the risk of side effects of AP was carried out on the basis of determining the significance level of 95% CI for the share, taking into account the binomial distribution of the characteristic. Formulated null and alternative statistical hypotheses. Results: After two weeks of treatment with the using of AP against the background of the disappearance of endoscopic signs of gastroduodenal pathology, statistically significant changes in the frequency of manifestations of all clinical syndromes were detected. AP not only relieves pain, but also shortens the duration of the illness, eliminates functional disorders of the motility of the upper parts of the digestive tract, allows to achieve clinical and endoscopic recovery and provides stable and long-term remission. Tolerability of AP was good. No side effects were registered. It has been proven with a probability of 95% that the risk of a side effect does not exceed 9%. Conclusions: Using of AP is effective, safe, which corresponds to the alternative statistical hypothesis.","PeriodicalId":42213,"journal":{"name":"Acta Balneologica","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69729636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
