VNF placement problem is one of the challenges in NFV. Current studies are limited in the practical applicability. To tackle this problem, we study the optimal VNF placement in NFV with symmetrical, two-way traffic and reusable VNF instances. The problem is formulated as a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model. Then, a simulation is conducted using a real-world network service to show the performance of the proposed model.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123887334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, we have proposed an uplink vehicle-to-vehicle cooperative relay transmission scheme, in which the uplink quality for a vehicle located at a far distance from the base station (far vehicle) can be improved by the assistance of a nearer relay vehicle (relay vehicle), thus avoiding the time-consuming upper layer retransmission. However, in our previous study, it was assumed that the pairing of the far and near (relay) vehicles had been made, which was actually not practical. The realistic probability of pairing, considering the movement of vehicles and an efficient selecting scheme of the pair, was not considered. Therefore, in this paper, we have analyzed the pairing probability of the cooperative transmission using Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) simulator software with the conditions of a straight road and an intersection with traffic lights. From these results, the transmission performances are calculated.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117287051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 5G is expected to utilize very wide bandwidth and would have the greater capacity compared to 4G. Therefore, the energy efficiency is one of the prominent roles in the design criterion. To achieve the maximum energy efficiency, the typical approaches are to increase the throughput or to decrease the power consumption. Recently, the approach to combine the small cell access points to Massive MIMO has been proved as one efficient way to achieve the maximum energy efficiency. In this work, the approach to combine two type of network, namely Small Cell Access Point (SCA) and Base Station (BS) with Massive MIMO, is considered for designing an energy efficient system. We investigate further this approach by extending the simulation to cover both 3GPP LTE as well as IMT 2020 environment with two different carrier frequencies under three scenarios. The performance is measured and compared with the existing work in terms of total power consumption per subcarrier of both the Base Station (BS) and Small Cell Access Points (SCAs). It is apparent that our proposed method provides the higher information rate at the same total power per sub carrier than the existing work. Additionally, general speaking, the 3GPP path loss model provides the lower total power consumption per sub carrier at BS than IMT-2020, while both path loss models almost has no impact on total power consumption at SCAs, regardless of carrier frequency and the number of antennas adopted in Massive MIMO at BS.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122677932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A common mechanism to achieve rendezvous is applying channel hopping. Most existing channel hopping protocols operate in a single-radio environment and evenly use all the available channels. Utilizing only a single radio limits the rendezvous probability between nodes while without considering the time-varied channel conditions of different channels results in inefficient channel allocations. To solve the rendezvous problem efficiently, in this paper, we propose an Adjustable Multi-radio Channel Hopping (AMCH) protocol that operates in a multi-radio CRN. Instead of evenly using available channels, AMCH enables a node to adjust the ratio of using different channels. Simulation results verify that such a ratio adjustable channel hopping scheme provides an efficient way to solve the rendezvous problem.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134005701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though many automobile manufacturers and software companies have launched the IVI Platform business, there is a lack of research on how to control IVI devices. In addition, there is a problem that many communication methods of IVI device cannot be handled by the IVI master device alone. To solve these problems, in this paper, we propose an IVI management system based on the lightweight machine-to-machine (LWM2M) technology so that it can be used in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) networks. We implemented the proposed system over a simple testbed and verified the proposed efficient management method.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133917349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Relay transmission is also important technique for 5G particularly to improve cell-edge performance. This paper proposes relay backhaul enhancement using 3D beamforming and provides its throughput performance using system-level computer simulations. Average and 5-percentile user throughput of the proposed relay system are investigated for almost blank subframe (ABS) ratio defined in time-division relay scheme, distance between evolved node B (eNB) and relay node (RN), and the transmission power of the RN, as parameters of the number of RNs. It is confirmed that the proposed relay system can improve both average and 5-percentile user throughput compared to conventional relay system. Further, we clarify the appropriate ABS ratio, the distance between eNB and RN, and the transmission power of the RN to provide the best performance.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114556394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The combination operation of a device or a NodeMCU is used to reduce cost, gather information, and command and control devices. The most beneficial use of the IoT is to help smart farms, home automation, smart factories, smart cities and big data. The aim and contribution of this research are to reduce costs and increase the effectiveness of the use of the IoT. This study uses NodeMCU to make a composition model-driven automation using a choreography architecture. The Contained Application Protocol (CoAP) is used to the reduce costs of the interface between the compositions. The advantage of using the CoAP composition is that it can be made in the limited condition of the devices. For the precision and accuracy of the composition, we carry out experiments with 5 to 20 compositions.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114779356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11,2011 caused enormous damage in Japan. An intense tremor was felt even in Tokyo, which is ∼375 km away from the epicenter. Therefore, public transportation was interrupted in the central Tokyo area, which caused difficulties for the commuters while returning to their homes. It is known that the victims needed information damage situation on the earthquake and the time to restart the operation of the railway and subway. Furthermore, information providing means were required for a large number of stranded passengers. In addition, further earthquakes may occur at any instance such in the case of the Tokyo Inland Earthquake, which is indicated in future earthquakes. As a solution to this issue, we proposed a mitigation system for information providing that delivers appropriate information according to the users' attributes during large-scale urban disasters. In this paper, we showed the effectiveness of the proposed system in disaster drills within the years of 2016 and 2017 assumed for the Great East Japan Earthquake. Also we show the generalization of information presentation for the purpose of expanding this system in other areas.","PeriodicalId":422041,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121316370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
