Dendrimers are often used for drug and biological molecules delivery (e.g., DNA, peptides, and polysaccharides) to different target cells. It was also shown that lysine dendrimer could penetrate blood brain barrier. Since lysine dendrimers also are less toxic than other synthetic dendrimers (e.g., polyamidoamine dendrimer), two systems containing this dendrimer and 8 or 16 oppositely charged Semax peptides were studied. It was obtained that stable complexes consisting of dendrimer and peptides formed and structures of these complexes were investigated. These complexes can be used in future for delivery of Semax peptides to brain since these peptides has significant antioxidant, antihypoxic and neuroprotective effects.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126575123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"A Distributed Approach for Traffic Signal Synchronization Problem","authors":"L. Adacher, Marco Tiriolo","doi":"10.1109/MCSI.2016.043","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/MCSI.2016.043","url":null,"abstract":"In this work a distributed algorithm for the optimization of signal setting on urban network is proposed. The Traffic Signal Synchronization is a traffic engineering technique of matching the green light times for a series of intersections to enable the maximum number of vehicles to pass through, thereby reducing stops and delays experienced by motorists. Synchronizing Traffic Signals ensures a better flow of traffic and minimizes gas consumption and pollutant emissions. In this paper we provide a solution to the traffic signals problem via simulation. The objective function used in this work is a weighted sum of the delays caused by the signalized intersections, and it is calculated by CTM UT model via simulation. We proposed a decomposition of the network, considering the cooperation between different subnetworks. Given the subnetworks the surrogate method is applied to solve the Traffic Signal Synchronization problem. Numerical experiments on test network are reported.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116623227","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The finger is one of the ones of a mechanical hand based on a self-adaptive mechanism that permits the use of un-extendible tendons. The simulations were carried on by means of a model made by WM 2D\" multibody code and permitted to save time and number of prototypes in the prototyping of the mechanical hand. The results are also in good agreement with both theoretical and experimental investigations the authors had carried on.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128210651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, and as a matter of fact, this work will focus on the development of an intelligent decision support system to predict individual's age based on pelvis' dimensions criteria. On the one hand, some basic image processing technics were applied in order to extract the relevant features from pelvic X-rays. On the other hand, the computational framework presented here was built on top of a Logic Programming approach to knowledge representation and reasoning, that caters for the handling of incomplete, unknown, or even self-contradictory information, complemented with a Case Base approach to computing.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133436915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The assignment of each student into a specific team or group is a time consuming task when executed manually and the number of criteria is large. In this work we propose a model for the assignment based on the application of NexClass methodology and decision support system. The approach is based on the utilization of multicriteria analysis in order to assign students into a number of categories according to predefined criteria. The overall approach is introduced along with an illustrative example.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122257224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Efficiency is achieved by separating the error detection from the correction process and using different codes for each case. The proposed technique is based on simple mathematical operations and is suitable for implementation in FPGA devices. It is shown to be more efficient than existing ones, according to criteria that are relevant to current applications.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130872389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inkpen","doi":"10.1109/MCSI.2016.042","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/MCSI.2016.042","url":null,"abstract":"We present the design of a dialog manager that performs speech intent recognition, based on a finite state machine which enables simultaneous processing of multiple sub-modules and maintains ordered transitions of system states. The dialog manager is integrated into a spoken dialog system. The application area of this system is targeted on robots, and the core problem that we address is to recognize user's speech intents, which could be either asking questions or giving commands to a robot. Our dialog manager is a sequence classifier based on hidden Markov models, and it uses part-of-speech tags as output symbols. The classifier take sentences of variable lengths as input. It is trained on a small data set and achieves and accuracy of 83%.","PeriodicalId":421998,"journal":{"name":"2016 Third International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in Sciences and in Industry (MCSI)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117000301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
