For the\u0000realization of policy goals, the pandemic calls for citizen co-production. Since\u0000most policies are voluntary, levers for encouraging compliance with them oblige\u0000public servants to find ways to activate residents’ civic sense of duty. Such\u0000efforts are likely to be more effective if they harness the popular legitimacy\u0000of intermediaries – from civic organizations to for-profit companies – that can\u0000exert normative pressure for compliance. With the aim of the management and\u0000reduction of health, economic risks, and damages, several initiatives have been\u0000organized in Hungary. Initiators included political parties, registered NGOs,\u0000companies and informal groups and communities.

The emphasis on the analysis of social activity is motivated by the consideration of this attribute as a criterion for the allocation of the middle class in the post-industrial period. The research method – an in-depth focused interview through which two tasks are solved: identifying the degree of significance for informants of social activity and examples of its manifestation; determination of the degree of readiness to participate in the implementation of the innovation development strategy of the Tomsk Region and thereby act as a “driver” of social changes. Representatives of the middle class are included in the sample based on self-identification. It was revealed that the middle class of the Russian region is active in realising personal, but not social goals. Such a characteristic of the post-industrial middle class as the willingness to act as a driver of social development is not observed. Options are proposed for solving this problem related to the mechanisms of involving the middle class in regional planning and decision-making regarding generally significant issues.

In prior research, conventional approach such as nutrition information could not overcome the impact of tasty but unhealthy food. Thus, this study is designed a field experiment at a casual restaurant to assess the effects of taste and behavioral approach, particularly the combination of convenience and visibility enhancements on healthier meal choices. The results of this study show that adding difficulty in ordering high-calorie food along with visibility can reduce calorie intake and compensate for the calorie increase caused by ordering according to taste. However, there are differences in effectiveness of interventions across each type of participant.

The qualitative method was adopted, using the in-depth interview technique with indigenes: the youth forum, and community leaders and elders. Findings show that offences in Okposi community are classified into two: abominations and torts, while the indigenous structure for crime prevention and control were Ndi Uke (community male elders council); Unyom Okposi (female elders council); Ndi Okenye (village elders council); and Ndi Okorobia (the youths). The fear of the inevitability of spiritual consequences from the gods appears to be a good source of deterrence from crime commission. The traditional methods of policing were deemed more effective in crime control. It is recommended that the Nigeria Police should continue to take advantage of the cordial relationship with the community to enhance peace, security and justice. Economic downturn and poverty are the effects of poor resource management in Africa. Yet, neopatrimonialism also stands as an alternative explanation. This survey separate these two theoretical alternatives of corruption in Africa. It examines 54 African countries using the corruption perception index of 2017. It found that fuel-exporting countries in Africa are more corrupt than non-fuel exporting countries with a large associated effect size (Cohen’s d =. 94). Fuel exporting countries were linked with resource-curse theory (poor resource management) and the extractive theory of corruption (neopatrimonialism) while non fuel exporting countries was linked up with only the extractive theory of corruption (neopatrimonialism). By implication, African nations involved in the exportation of fuel resource are 94% likely to be more corrupt than countries that do not export fuel.

The main characteristic of international migration in Hungary is that the largest part of the immigrant population is of Hungarian nationality. Population movements in the late 1980s and early 1990s made it clear that the demographic processes taking place in the Hungarian linguistic community – despite the fragmentation occurring in 1918, and the nearly 100 year old ‘distributed development’ – can only fully understood if we examine them together, as a single process. It is important to recognise that demographic processes within and outside of the current border are similar in nature. All that is happening in Hungary is only part of the demographic processes of the Hungarian language community. The migration processes described in the paper would have a significant impact on the ethnic spatial structure of the Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin if the number of other ethnicities did not decrease similarly. Strengthening the numbers of people staying in their home country, increasing the number of return migrations and the fertility rates of local Hungarians could all be part a solution to the problem.

Qualitative analysis revealed several themes, including Challenges in Spain and Opportunities in Spain. Challenges were of three main types: personal and relationship challenges, economic challenges, and perceived racism and stereotyping. Opportunities were also of three primary types: future opportunities for the Latinas’ children, increased safety, and greater personal independence. None of the women mentioned the possibility of returning to their country of origin, suggesting that perceived opportunities in Spain outweighed the challenges they faced. The findings are considered from the perspective of the empowerment of immigrant Latina mothers in Spain. While interview responses gave little evidence of economic, educational, social, or political empowerment, they did suggest that the women demonstrated considerable psychological empowerment, including resilience, perseverance, and determination to move forward despite challenges.
