The PSS ontology includes concepts such as products, services, PSS, PSS lifecycle, process and stakeholders, including direct customers, consumers and their feedback. The context sensitivity approach is proposed to fully support the use of different tools for PSS development by various stakeholders. The context model includes both PSS ontology and a so-called user-centric ontology. The process to develop the ontologies is described. The approach to build the PSS ontology is based on the so-called Basic Formal Ontology (BFO). The foreseen applications of both ontologies in industrial practice of machine vendors and the expected benefits are being elaborated.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117236373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although studied extensively in the literature, yet it is still one of the major topics in scheduling research. ELSP with its various configurations can be found in many industrial fields. In this paper, a producer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods is considering this decision. The company has a production line producing a range of products having dependent changeover cost. It is required to determine the production schedule and lot size that minimize the total cost. We provide a heuristic model that uses different priority rules, and simulate the model to compare the performance against the different priority rules at different lot sizes. The total cost is calculated finding that the Safety Time rule resulted in the least cost among tested rules. The effect of different cost parameters on the priority rule performance is also discussed leading to defining cost ratio determining the superiority of the used rule.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121054015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the more disruptive the exogenous events are, the more a company requires resources in order to overcome them. Efforts may not only be required from the product development team, solutions from an operational perspective only would present a limited vision on the problem itself. While these disruptive events require multidisciplinary studies in order to be fully comprehended, most of the literature contributions consider only one or few perspectives. This research aims to identify which aspects are needed in a case study in which an event disrupted an ongoing development process.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130682355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

S4G proposes an innovative holistic methodology for modelling, planning, integrating, operating and evaluating distributed Energy Storage Systems (ESS) including storage at user premises and storage at substation level, Electrical Vehicles (EV), innovative energy metering and energy routing technologies. This paper presents a systematic strategy used by S4G to generate the use cases for two scenarios related to two test sites: in Bolzano focused on cooperative EV charging and in Fur addressing the impact of user and grid side storage coordination to the medium and low voltage distribution network. The paper summarizes the S4G vision, solutions, and approaches for evolving the cooperative and coordinated ESS scenarios into use-cases and related requirements.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132029927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several security issues can produce drawback to the companies because of Internet technologies did not designed to support IoT as well as information disclosure, privacy issues, and cyber threats. However, these situations of the interest could provide knowledge about the reality of the IoT environment. The monitoring of the elements status of a system involves the Situation Awareness (SA) paradigm. However, a limitation of this model is that SA is awareness held exclusively by the human. In this paper, we propose the adoption of a reference ontology to enhance cybersecurity in the IoT considering SA. An ontology extension is used to deal with distinct situational sources and enrich the meaning around security issues. To validate this proposal we describe a case study considering the data collection from smart objects in a metalworking company.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115601369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this analysis is reducing their respective bias and improving their acuity. However, smart city projects should never be seen in isolation, but as one element in a city's (or a region's) continuous effort to find the next best way of operations. This paper evaluates the problems associated with the systems development of Agile technical practices for developing IoT solutions for sustainable urban environments. As part of this analysis; this paper investigates the traditional methods of generic lifecycle stages; iteration and recursion, sequential methods, and incremental and iterative methods for developing urban informatics. The functional design of a distributed automated system architecture is presented based on the theory that team members such as software engineers, data specialists, security engineers, testers, and other specialists need to be self-organized and embrace the certainty of failure. The authors' identify that by using Agile techniques to decrease fear of failure and embrace the notion that the goal should be to experiment constantly, fail early and often, and learn as much as possible in the process can produce a more integrated service. The end result is a hybrid model presented as part of a process analysis practice for IV&V in order to develop value added solutions for Smart Cities.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121337456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Baths are considered an important area in the care for bed-confined individuals, and their quality, safety, security and versatility are important factors. The evaluation of these parameters is something that concerns professional care providers and relatives. To minimize negative outcomes associated with baths, we have developed a Smart-bath proof-concept, which is a new assistive technology to promote greater autonomy, safety, comfort and hygiene in the care of the elderly or bedridden. The system integrates, tree functional parts, such as: bathboard, controller and water supplier. In this paper, it is presented the controller of smartbath, the parts consist in the automatic control of bath temperature, water flow-rate and light intensity, capable of being operated directly into the system. More attention is going to be given to the control of the bath temperature.","PeriodicalId":421648,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation (ICE/ITMC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123306245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
