The evaluation depends greatly on a personal opinion and there can be large variations in assessments. The project has investigated the use of machine vision in several ways, to provide measures of fodder quality that will be objective and independent of the assessor. Growers will be able to quote a quality measure that buyers can trust. The research includes the possibility of discerning colour differences that are beyond the capability of the human eye, while still using equipment that is of relatively modest cost.","PeriodicalId":421396,"journal":{"name":"2007 14th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127561349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is built in low cost using off-the-shelf components. The vision system is mounted on a mobile home robot, which is controlled by a PC through wireless communication. Two applications of the vision system are developed; intruder and fire detection. An adaptive background subtraction technique is used to extract intruders in image sequence. A novel vision processing algorithm for fire alarm is also proposed. This algorithm processes images in three steps; pixel-level, block-level, and global level.","PeriodicalId":421396,"journal":{"name":"2007 14th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121169352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is usually quite difficult to detect this kind of signal in noncooperative and real-time occasions. Based on the autocorrelation detection algorithm, a combination method of frequency band-divided pre-filteting and power spectrum reprocessing, which can be used to implement the real-time detection of underwater acoustic DSSS-BPSK signal, is put forward in this paper. This method can also be used to the estimation of the pseudo-random code period and chip width, and no prior knowledge of the intercepted signals is necessarily required. With frequency pre-filtering, it can not only suppress the strong ocean noise effectively, but also make the real-time detection possible via the FFT algorithm. The results of computer simulation and practical experiment have both validated the feasibility and validity of this method.","PeriodicalId":421396,"journal":{"name":"2007 14th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice","volume":"151 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114173701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the characteristic of PMLSM, an original method based on end side magnetic field of the PMLSM is proposed. The method detects the real-time value of the magnetic field utilizing at least two linear Hall sensors which are fixed on the mover along the direction of the linear motor. The digital filtering techniques are used to deal with the magnetic field data smoothly. A farther mathematical method is developed to interpolate the normalized sinusoidal curve for improving the resolution and the precision.","PeriodicalId":421396,"journal":{"name":"2007 14th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130164595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a rotational electrostatic motor with air bearing (350 mum gap) is designed and fabricated. The components of this motor include a disc as rotor and one or two series of electrodes with rotational arrangement which are fabricated by PCB technology, as stator. hi this study, rotor is Plexiglas disc with 38 mm in diameter and 1 mm thickness. To reduce friction between rotor and stator an air bearing is used. Also, kinetics, design and fabrication process of a prototype is described and then some parameters influencing on motor operation is investigated experimentally. A software programme combined both functions was developed in this article. Functions and procedures for calculating colorimetric parameters were written in terms of Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) definitions and recommendations. The calculation of the dominant wavelength is optimized to accelerate the search speed and increase the resolution as precise as 0.1 nm. Arbitrary combinations of Gaussian formulas were adopted to design LED spectrum. With continuously designed spectra, the relationship between CRI and K can be intuitionisticly viewed and judged, so an optimal range for both high CRI and K can be easily determined.","PeriodicalId":421396,"journal":{"name":"2007 14th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice","volume":"59 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120874335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
