This paper presents the setup and results of testing a Brain-Computer Interface which controls a mobile robotic platform as a preamble to control a robotic wheelchair. The system was tested on two healthy users who gained a mean response time of the system of about 1.15 seconds. The applications are foreseen in assistive intelligent wheelchairs for high-level spinal cord injury paraplegics.","PeriodicalId":419137,"journal":{"name":"2019 E-Health and Bioengineering Conference (EHB)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134477980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many studies indicate listening to familiar music can arouse the elders’ memories and emotions, improving their social and cognitive abilities and care quality. It is important to design a feasible and effective music care system to collect objective data and music features to execute the quantitative analysis and evidence-based research. The trial process of this research integrated music listening intervention, biosignal measurement and analysis, and music information retrieval. We designed a Music Care System (MCS) to incorporate music listening system and physiological data recording for the elderly in a long-term care facility. To verify the system, we implemented three months of music listening experiment and interviewed the specific group who nursed the elders to evaluate the process. The results showed that the continuous biosignal recording data could function as the reference information to design a care plan. They also indicated the familiar and cheerful songs enabled the listeners to keep attention to activities. For future research, we will develop an APP to integrate the system with the medical care information of the facility and to provide records of the music care for long-term caregiving.","PeriodicalId":419137,"journal":{"name":"2019 E-Health and Bioengineering Conference (EHB)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134361541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Going further, facial attractiveness is also dependent on currently expressed facial emotions, therefore an area of facial plastic surgery needs a reliable way how to classify each patient’s facial image into one of the facial emotions.To address both of the challenges, we performed regression trees- based analysis in order to realize which changes of geometric features of a human face increase its attractiveness level after undergoing rhinoplasty. Multivariate linear regression was applied to quantify effect sizes of the features’ changes.Naïve Bayes classifies, classification trees, random forests, support vector machines and neural networks, respectively, were learned to classify facial images into facial emotions.Enlargement of both nasofrontal and nasolabial angles increase statistically facial attractiveness after undergoing the rhinoplasty, as both tree-based and regression methods showed. Classification accuracy of the neural networks exceeded accuracies of other machine-learning methods.The applied machine-learning methods uncovered some significant facial geometric features increasing facial attractiveness after the rhinoplasty undergoing as well as possibility to classify facial images into facial emotions.","PeriodicalId":419137,"journal":{"name":"2019 E-Health and Bioengineering Conference (EHB)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132134094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The test sets obtained after programming as graphical interfaces compatible with the tablet-type gadgets were applied in the case of 20 preschool children, one of them having problems in solving the tests. We studied how we can adapt them to the needs of modern medicine and healthcare, transforming them into telepresence robots capable of both transporting and assisting the patient autonomously. The prosed solutions allow the medical team to communicate directly with it and have real-time access to vital functions data.Two new application models are proposed: a walking chair and a controllable robotic plate via a mobile application, via direct WI-FI. A prototype of the robotized stretcher, made in miniature, had the role of helping us analyze the actual functioning of the proposed model, using for the remote control, a WI-FI connection is also proposed. The mathematical model of wheel speeds is developed, which helps to design the digital curvature control elements, as well as the software diagrams designed for robot control. The realization and effective testing of the prototype observed a good response to orders observed on a distance of about 50 meters. The range of the proposed model is relatively small for a hospital stretcher that will have to transmit and receive data and controls in real time. Therefore, as a future research direction we consider to test a WI-FI connection through the Internet.","PeriodicalId":419137,"journal":{"name":"2019 E-Health and Bioengineering Conference (EHB)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116097092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
