The novel features of the tool are: support for both task and data parallelism and a mixture of the two; extensive use of analytical cost models for performance prediction; systematic program design by applying optimizing transformations; and visualization of the design process. We demonstrate the use of VisPar on a relevant case study - the practically important Jpeg compression algorithm $and report on the current status of the tool implementation.","PeriodicalId":419022,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications. Meta data help to structure data or documents and to classify the contents. It is important to recognize the power of existing meta data (thesauri, classifications, etc.) and to use such meta data and to expand such meta data for advanced data acquisition and information retrieval. To expand meta data modern learning systems should be used and an open communication model that integrates different aspects of data and meta data. Results of an information retrieval project are described and a new multi-level model of meta data is introduced.","PeriodicalId":419022,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications. Time series derived from such systems seem stochastic when analysed with linear techniques. However, uncovering the deterministic structure is important because it allows to construct more realistic and better models and thus improved predictive capabilities. The paper provides a new approach for features of chaotic systems definition. The proposed method includes a calculation of Lyapunov exponents using multilayer neural networks trained by a modified backpropagation error (BPE) algorithm. We compare the proposed technique and a widely used method for largest Lyapunov exponent definition for Henon and Lorenz chaotic processes.","PeriodicalId":419022,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications. To know the precise wall motion, such as its rotation or deformity, identifiable landmarks must be located on the heart. MRI tagging makes it possible to estimate the regional wall motion non-invasively. Tagging is achieved by the selective saturation pulse method. We tried to estimate the precise LV wall motion by MRI tagging. The difference in the signal intensity between the tagged and non-tagged regions persisted for 400-700 ms. We displayed the tag-point movement of the LV wall as an animation.","PeriodicalId":419022,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications. The alignment of its texture pattern is an important factor in yukata design. A 3D display of the yukata is needed for creating a yukata that fits to the wearer. In this paper, we describe a CAD system for yukatas. First, we developed a measurement system for the wearer's body shape. Second, we developed an algorithm for performing garment simulation. The designer can understand the condition of the texture alignment exactly, because the yukata is displayed three-dimensionally on the wearer's body shape. As a result, the designer can easily tailor the yukata.","PeriodicalId":419022,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications. The aim of the examination schedule was to maximally disperse the examination terms as perceived by the students. A mixed-integer model turned out to be too complex, and therefore a genetic algorithm was applied. The achieved results were satisfactory enough to be accepted in the current academic year.","PeriodicalId":419022,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications.
