It presents the main theoretical and conceptual frameworks used in the different articles in this volume. Especially relevant among them is the discussion of the place of discourse in the theoretical framework of Post-orientalism developed by Hamid Dabashi (2009, 2012) and in Post-colonial studies. In this regard, the relationship between ideology and discourse (Van Dijk, 2011) is introduced and discussed in connection with the concept of social change. Social change is understood as a broad narrative comprised of a diverse textuality that belongs to areas such as intellectual discourse, literature and jurisprudence, and includes the gender perspective. The incipient electoral process and the first signs of an autonomous sphere of social and political expression were brutally aborted by the military coup of 1991. Since then civil society has evolved in both its discourses and the strategies used against the autocratic political system, which has remained unchanged despite the waves of resistance led by social movements in North Africa and the Middle East since 2011. This article analyses the evolution of the main discourses and strategies used by Algerian civil society and social movements which, despite the inhibitory factors of the country's recent history and the uniqueness of its political system, are carriers of social transformations and political change. Su labor en el Centro de Estudios Historicos dependiente de la Junta significo uno de los momentos mas fecundos de la actividad productiva investigadora del grupo. Pero en 1916 la actuacion de Asin Palacios en un tribunal de oposiciones a la catedra de Sociologia en la Universidad de Madrid, especialidad ajena al quehacer del arabista, a la que se presentaba el secretario de la Junta, Jose Castillejo, provoco la salida en bloque del gremio del arabismo del Centro y de la Junta, lo que supuso un aislamiento del arabismo de la marcha de las humanidades en Espana. La matriz de evaluacion de las habilidades acuaticas de Winnick (2010) fue utilizada como instrumento para recolectar datos. El analisis de los datos sucedio de forma descriptiva. El alumno presento desempeno positivo en tres categorias: Entradas, salidas y orientacion en el agua. Se destaca la comprension de la entrada y de la salida por la rampa adaptada; el dominio en la realizacion del giro lateral y del zambullida frontal; y, la mejoria en las 14 habilidades de la categoria orientacion en el agua. Las prescripciones vestimentarias superan incluso las de los talibanes en los anos noventa; a las ninas se les puede casar a los nueve anos y, por si fuera poco, el grupo extremista emitio reglas sobre el trato de esclavas domesticas y sexuales. Asi, parece increible que existan mujeres que apoyan al EI y su devastadora politica de genero. Sin embargo, las estadisticas demuestran que de las personas que abandonaron su hogar en Europa para integrarse a las filas del EI hasta un 20 por ciento son mujeres o chicas menores de edad. Este articulo explora su motivacion e indaga la capacidad que la propaganda del EI tiene para seducir a las mujeres. Asimismo, esclarece como es que las seguidoras juegan un papel importante para el desarrollo de este grupo extremista comparando el rol que se les atribuye a las mujeres en el seno de otros movimientos islamistas. Palabras claves: mujeres del Estado Islamico, islamismo femenino, extremismo islamico, propaganda islamista Abstract At a first glance, the situation of women in the so-called “Islamic State” (IS), which proclaimed itself as a new caliphate by the end of June 2014, seems completely unbearable. Dress code regulations are even more restrictive than the ones introduced by the Taliban in the 1980s. Additionally, the extremist group issued rules about how to treat domestic and sexual slaves. Consequently, it seems difficult to believe that there are women who may support IS and the devastating gender policy it stands for. However, statistics show that among the people who left their European homes in order to join the ranks of IS there are up to 20% women and girls. This article researches into their motivation and into the appeal the IS has to attract women. At the same time, it clarifies how these female followers play an important role on the evolution of this extremist group, when compared to women of other Islamist movements. Through this analysis, we show that the Oslo Accords are constituent elements that reflect the two forms of colonialism that take form and operate on the land of Palestine. One is based on the logic of appropriation/violence and is exerted by Israel, whereas the other is based on the logic of modernisation/development and is practised by international donors, as they define the peace process according to the liberal peace paradigm. We also discuss the narrative of the Oslo peace process, understood as a structural and ideological framework that serves as a control matrix and is complemented by the aforementioned forms of colonialisms, and which eventually manages to legitimize them.Keywords: Palestine, liberal peace, colonialism, Oslo Accords","PeriodicalId":41839,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Estudios Internacionales Mediterraneos","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.15366/REIM2018.24.009","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44719466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
