The new self-expanding transcatheter heart valve Allegra, from New Valve Technology with its special implantation mechanism, has proven its safety and feasibility for patients with degenerated SAVs, but it has never been used in the latest-generation sutureless SAV. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first description of the successful VIV of the Allegra prosthesis into a degenerated sutureless SAV, and the procedure yielded an excellent postinterventional hemodynamic results.
","PeriodicalId":41729,"journal":{"name":"Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon Reports","volume":" ","pages":"e1-e5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1055/s-0040-1721483","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"38856415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cardiac surgery in the context of AML poses challenges that are seldom encountered. Case Description The subject is a 31-year-old woman at 38 weeks' gestational age diagnosed with AML and partial atrioventricular septal defect. After multidisciplinary consulting, an urgent cesarean section was performed, then chemotherapy was initiated, followed by minimally invasive cardiac surgery with an uneventful recovery. Conclusion Efficient multidisciplinary approach is essential in the management of PA-AML and cardiac disease.
