GMTool supports a geographic object-generating process based on the analysis of cartographic documents. The GIS has become strategic in many sectors. In spite of the graphic interfaces offered by the GIS development tools, they remain inaccessible to newcomers. So, it is important to have GIS development tools. We propose a geographic object-modelling technique based on the process of generating geographic objects. The latter allows one to construct a spatial object scheme from the analysis of cartographic documents. Our objective is to replace the intuitive process of identification of the GIS objects by a process based on rules and heuristic of derivation on the basis of the analysis of cartographic documents. The prototype is implemented using Visual Basic 6 language.","PeriodicalId":416272,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127431239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose tile logic (a rewriting logic extension) as a suitable semantic framework for this language. Indeed, it contributes to the formalization of LfP by providing a natural description for concurrency, synchronization and hierarchical composition aspects. A straight consequence of this work is the possibility to describe reconfigurable LfP architectures, and to handle with executable specification in Maude allowing hierarchical formal verification.","PeriodicalId":416272,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114292896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
