If water and soap are not available, hands can be cleaned with ash although the benefits and harms are uncertain for reducing the spread of viral or bacterial infections. This is especially important for people who handle food or work in the medical field, but also an important practice for the general public. Hand hygiene is one of the most important element of infection control activities.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129919998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Air is the breath of life, yet there many kinds of air pollution contributing to problems that range from human health issues to climate change. Air pollution can be defined as the presence of toxic chemicals or compounds in the air, at levels that pose a health risk. In an even broader sense, air pollution means the presence of chemicals or compounds in the air which usually not present and which lower the quality of the air or cause detrimental changes to the quality of life. Air pollution is the leading environmental cause of death worldwide according to the state of global air 2017, a new first annual report and interactive website launched today. The report also finds that 92% of the world’s population lives in areas with unhealthy air. All told, long-term exposure to fine particulate matter the most significant element of air pollution contributed to 4.2 million premature deaths and to a loss of 103 million healthy years of life in 2015, making air pollutionthe5thhighestcauseofdeathamong all health risks, including smoking, diet, and high blood pressure. The analysis found that China and India together were responsible for over half of the total global attributable deaths, the study also finds that increasing exposure and a growing and aging population have meant that India now rivals China for among the highest air pollution health burdens in the world, with both countries facing some 1.1 million early deaths from air pollution in 2015. Air pollution is probably one of the most serious environmental problems confronting our civilization today. Most often, it is caused by human activities such as transportation, mining, construction, industrial work, agriculture, smelting, etc. However, natural processes such as volcanic eruptions and wildfires may also pollute the air, but their occurrence is rare and they usually have a local effect, unlike human activities that are ubiquitous causes of air pollution and contribute to the global pollution of the air every single day.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130677796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a constant rise in the number of women entrepreneurs since 1990’s.The current generation of women –owned enterprises are actively seeking capital for developing their business and is also using modern technology to create a mark in the domestic and international markets. It is important to note the participation of women in economic activities as self employed individuals. The new generation women entrepreneurs are not only generating employment for themselves in the organised and unorganised sector but they are also providing employment opportunities to others .A very important point to be noted is to give due recognition to women for the contribution they have made in the various social ,economic ,political as well as cultural activities. In the past few years women entrepreneurs have contributed significantly in the development and progress of our country due to urbanization along with education and awareness. However women face many constraints in their lives as they do not get full support from their family and are not treated as equals which in turn restricts her freedom to prove her potential . They have to go a long way to achieve equal rights as our Indian society is male dominated and these traditions are deep rooted .To break this tradition ,women have to be assertive and will have to take bold decisions and also should be willing to take risk to succeed in this world of cut throat competition. It is to be noted that the economic status of women is now accepted as an indicator which shows that the society has developed.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121261078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This exploratory study represents a touchstone to the motivations, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors members of the millennial cohort, those born between 1980-2000, exhibited toward three major media classes (print, broadcast, and Internet). Forty-one millennials participated in a series of synchronous online focus groups administered through a learning management system (LMS), or focus group chats (FGCs) for short. This study compares millennials’ views toward traditional media (namely, television and newspapers) against the Internet with an emphasis on perceived advantages and disadvantages of each medium, especially as they relate to millennials’ media class preferences. Support for the participants’ suppositions and expressions of their motives, behaviors, and opinions came by way of their verbatim answers to questions posed by the online focus group moderator. The findings suggest that millennials’ media class choices are influenced by convenience, access availability, time shift issues, and preferences. The participants showed discernable control anxiety about new Internet connected devices (ICDs) and media content sources.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124161431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The total employment in the country was of 46.5 crore comprising around 2.8 crore in the organised and the remaining 43.7 crore workers in the informal sector or unorganized sector. Out of these workers in the informal sector , there are 24.6 crore workers employed in agricultural sector, about 4.4 crore in informal sector workers and remaining in manufacturing and service. Informal Sector refers to economic activities such as production and distribution of goods and services by the operating units of the households which essentially differ from the formal sector in terms of technology, economies of scale, use of labour intensive processes, and virtual absence of the well maintained accounts. It embraces a widely dispersed multitude of operating units with high rates of birth and death and substantial mobility. It is informal in the sense that they are not regulated by government under any statute. Because of its contribution to the economy, which is quite visible and its strength in absorbing a huge portion of unemployed persons to whom the State is unable to provide adequate employment. It becomes the duty of the policy makers to device such policies which can take core of the problems faced by the informal sector workforce. Hence, there is need to monitor the size and structure of this sector and its performance over time for framing appropriate policies. In this paper an attempt to identify status and survival of the informal sector workers in Gudiyathamtaluk of Vellore district in Tamil Nadu.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115895451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is not maintainable on the basis of full-cost pricing. The billing should include health and environmental costs, including charges for the exhaustion of natural resources, egregious disparities in wealth distribution, and increases in mental and physical sickness. Today’s material growth model transmutes many economic endeavors into preying on current and future generations. Unwittingly, the single-minded pursuit of growth without a global perspective has been resulting in loss of life and property, besides undermining prospects of life’s basics for upcoming generations. This is myopic, ignoring catastrophes hitting home. In this dystopian scenario, it is judicious to shift attention to non- economic vistas such as well-being. This is doable, at least after the basics of life, including education and health care, have been reached to the poor. A holistic growth atlas can then be mapped within the peripheries of sustainable growth. Such mapping would be in qualitative terms as well, factoring in local beliefs, besides in quantitative terms. Policymakers could then hold back jockeying for GDP growth and adopt a serviceable tactic policy to Gross National Happiness.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"388 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115913081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While some economists contest that the development of the financial system is a byproduct of economic growth others assert that credit expansion is critical for growth itself. India’s impetus on expanding its banking reach and recent changes in the way transactions are being done begs the question whether such changes directly affect the growth trajectory. This paper aims to examine and understand the relationship between credit and growth in India in the last few decades. Different metrics for credit and output is used to test the relationship at an overall as well as sectoral level. The findings indicate a strong relationship between the two variables.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128945757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

I quote Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary General of UN, “ climate change does not respect borders; it does not respect who you are-rich and, the poor, small and big. Therefore, this is what we call ‘ global challenges’ which require global solidarity”-co-operation and collaboration among all people and all governments of the world. Our globe, is a world of looming climate challenges. Climate change is happening here and happening now. Hence, human beings should not become architects of their own destruction. With the available knowledge and tools, it is essential to reduce global warming in terms of the mitigation and adaptation strategies. Therefore, this paper delineates various climate change coping strategies followed all over the world with a detailed description of measures formulated and adopted in India.","PeriodicalId":415549,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Business and Economics","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130885458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
