In this paper, a diagnostic-based and traceable calibration method that is more pertained to the health index of the cable-under-test and faster to conduct on-site is proposed. Preliminary measurements show an accuracy of better than 1% can be obtained, which is acceptable for such an application.","PeriodicalId":415488,"journal":{"name":"2016 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM 2016)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132034454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method does not require the value of bulk density or mass of the grains. Instead, it uses the attenuation and phase shift of the microwave signal through a microstrip transmission line. The static and dynamic measurements were performed for rice samples having different moisture contents from 11 % to 19 %. The results of the dynamic measurement showed close agreement with those of the static measurement. In addition, the ratio of amplitude change and phase shift is linearly dependent on the moisture content of the rice for both static and dynamic measurements.","PeriodicalId":415488,"journal":{"name":"2016 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM 2016)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127871388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To test the hypothesis that parasitic capacitances between contact pads cause this effect, we studied capacitance and dissipation factor in the quantum Hall regime for various in-plane electrode configurations. The largest dissipation factor is found for configurations where a strong electric field penetrates the bulk of the graphene. The measured effect of different electrode configurations on the frequency dependence of the quantized Hall resistance confirms our hypothesis. The findings are important for modeling and optimization of a future graphene-based quantum impedance standard.","PeriodicalId":415488,"journal":{"name":"2016 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM 2016)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126739582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main unit of the system includes a temperature-controlled Zener diode module driven with a built-in battery. It is detachable from an expansion unit with larger battery packs for longer-time battery operation. This system realizes a compact DC voltage standard with maintaining state-of-the-art temporal stability and temperature stability performances of the output voltage.
