A través de este procedimiento, es posible definir la forma geométrica y la distribución de fuerzas de pretensado necesarias para conseguir unas condiciones óptimas de dimensionado de la sección transversal del anillo exterior, atendiendo a su no-circularidad. Estas condiciones óptimas se consiguen cuando, en situación de carga permanente, la rueda se deforma homotéticamente en planta. En cada paso del procedimiento formulamos los sistemas de ecuaciones que describen la relación entre la forma geométrica y el comportamiento mecánico, y definimos los métodos numéricos para resolverlos.A partir de la forma en planta de diversos anfiteatros romanos, desarrollamos ejemplos de aplicación y mostramos los límites geométricos razonables del procedimiento de diseño. An accurate assessment of the magnitude of horizontal actions from initial project stages provides a valuable information for typology choice and preliminary sizing of members. This study develops and analytical evaluation of horizontal forces considering the dynamic effects in this type of buildings to be applied in the initial structural design stages. The research uses analytical methods based on current codes and standards together with numerical Finite Element models and graphic tools that provide a set of original data based on a benchmark case-study. It includes a sensitivity analysis that shows the influence that some parameters have, such as the damping of the structure, in the magnitude of horizontal forces. The study provides new data and a visual analysis method for the two most complex actions in the design of tall buildings. They can be used as the crushable core for blast mitigation sacrificial cladding. In this paper insights into the blast response of a brittle mineral foam-based sacrificial cladding are presented. The experimental set-up used consists of a rigid steel frame (1000 mm × 1000 mm × 15 mm) with a square cavity of 300 mm x 300 mm in the center. An aluminum plate, representing the structure, with a total surface of 400 mm × 400 mm and a thickness of 2 mm is clamped into the steel frame. Two synchronized high-speed cameras in a stereoscopic configuration are used to capture the dynamic response of the aluminum plate at a frame rate of 20000 frames per second. The transient deformation fields are computed using a three-dimensional digital image correlation technique. The blast load is obtained by detonating 20 g of C4 placed at a distance of 250 mm from the center of the tested aluminum plate. The absorption capacity of the brittle mineral foam is assessed by comparing the out-of-plane displacement, the velocity, the acceleration and the major principal strain of the thin aluminum plate with and without the protective mineral foam. Two foam configurations with different thicknesses are considered: 60 mm and 120 mm. It is shown that adding the brittle mineral foam reduces the out-of-plane displacement together with the displacement velocity and acceleration of the aluminum plate at least by a factor of two. Si bien es cierto que el poco conocimiento y base experimental sobre la materia se centra sobre todo en el comportamiento del hormigón en soluciones de forjado con un comportamiento estructural bidireccional (losas macizas y forjados reticulares), son muy pocas las referencias, normativas o códigos de diseño que describen el fenómeno en sistemas estructurales tipo pórtico que soportan normalmente forjados unidireccionales. Today’s dominating shear models, the critical crack theory (Muttoni et al. [1]) and the compression field theory (Collins et al. [2]) maintain that the main shear-resisting mechanism is aggregate interlock, while more recent studies (Marí et al. [3]), maintain that the main resistance mechanism is the shear resistance on the uncracked compression chord. \u0000In this paper FEM modelling is used to study a test carried out at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) to try to assign the shear force to the different shear mechanisms for different loading steps and elucidate what finally causes the failure of the structure. Arana, en Bilbao. Este enlace se componía de varias estructuras yuxtapuestas, de hormigón pretensado, que conectaban la autopista A-8 con el centro de la ciudad. Para llevar a cabo la demolición se emplearon dos procedimientos diferenciados. Por una parte, los tableros de menor altura se demolieron vano a vano de forma directa empleando retroexcavadoras equipadas con martillos hidráulicos, demoledores primarios y cizallas. El resto de vanos, bien por su mayor altura o por la cercanía a viviendas u otras infraestructuras sensibles, se desmantelaron siguiendo un procedimiento de corte con hilo de diamante, izado con una grúa de celosía de gran tonelaje y apoyo en el suelo, en donde se finalizaba su demolición empleando equipos mecánicos tradicionales. Estudios recientes han demostrado una ligera ventaja del acero galvanizado frente al acero al carbono en cuanto a lo que a resistencia al fuego se refiere. Este comportamiento más favorable del acero galvanizado se debe a su menor emisividad a temperaturas por debajo de los 500 ºC, lo que permite dotar a la estructura de una mejora inherente en términos de resistencia al fuego en el rango entre 15 y 30 minutos. En España, este rango de tiempos requeridos puede encontrarse fácilmente dentro del ámbito de la edificación industrial. Although there is a large database of experimental and numerical shear tests of steel fiber-reinforced concrete beams, there are not profuse test data and numerical models available for steel fiber-reinforced concrete beams with traditional transverse shear reinforcement (stirrups). In this work, the shear behavior of ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete beams is analyzed using the plastic damaged model developed in Abaqus. For this purpose, a comparative study is previously carried out by means of an experimental test available in the literature to validate the finite element model with conventional rebars.
