A sequence of input images consists of consecutive frames taken from the video-stream. The video stream is obtained from the camera placed over a road. Images from the sequence of input images are converted into point representation separately. Conversion of images into point representation is performed using analysis of small image gradients. Point representation of images consists of edge points whose layout is in accordance with edge of objects contained in images before conversion. For all input images the same detection field is defined. The state of the detection field is determined on the basis of sums of the edge points calculated within the detection field. A vehicle driving through the detection field changes its state. Detection of vehicles is carried out by analysis of the state of the detection field. The experimental results are provided.","PeriodicalId":413894,"journal":{"name":"2016 Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117243030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The tool allows for simple integration of external metrics without prior understanding of the tool's implmentation. It allows for automated calculations of combinations of software metrics to aid other researchers by decrease the time spent on measuring software metrics. The proposed navigation system employs a factor graph to represent the localization constraints stemming from measurements obtained using the sensors available in a mobile device. The novelty of this work lies in integration of the constraints imposed by opportunistic observations of simple landmarks based on QR codes in the graph-based formulation of the localization problem. The experiments concern feasibility of detecting and reading QR codes under real-life conditions, and the accuracy of user position estimation. The experimental results confirm that QR codes can provide valuable localization information in real-time, especially when the site lacks a rich landscape of WiFi signals.","PeriodicalId":413894,"journal":{"name":"2016 Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA)","volume":"325 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134071631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The design starts from a 1D Gaussian prototype with adjustable selectivity, to which specific frequency transformations are applied in order to obtain oriented 2D filters. This design technique leads to the 2D filter frequency response expressed in matrix form, depending on the imposed specifications. Therefore, the resulted 2D filter with multiple orientation is adjustable, and its selectivity and orientation angles are specified independently. Several design examples of orientation-selective filters are provided. An example of image filtering with a two-directional filter with specified parameters shows the possibility of detecting and separating straight lines with various orientations from a given test image.","PeriodicalId":413894,"journal":{"name":"2016 Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130635452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose an effective method for recognition of fencing footwork using a single body-worn accelerometer. We present a challenging dataset consisting of six actions, which were performed by ten persons and repeated ten times by each of them. We propose a segment-based SVM for time-series classification together with a set of informative features. We demonstrate that the method is competitive with 1-NN DTW in terms of classification accuracy. The proposed method achieves classification accuracy slightly better than 70% on the fencing footwork dataset.","PeriodicalId":413894,"journal":{"name":"2016 Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114223131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Frangi multiscale image filtering is the starting point, followed by thresholding and skeletonization. The skeleton of tubular branches is approximated by a smooth function in 3D, allowing accurate estimation of tangent vector to the vessel centerline and planes normal to it. Vessel radius is then computed by least-squares fitting of the image intensity model to vessel cross-sections by normal planes. In effect, each tubular branch of the vessel tree is represented by centerline-radius description. The usage of Frangi filtering results in tubular branch discontinuities in places where the vessels do not feature the assumed elongated shape, e.g. at bifurcations and intensity artefacts. This paper proposes algorithms for modeling the vessel tree surface discontinuities. The resulting integrated surface of the macroscale (of diameter comparable or larger than the voxel side) vessels model is waterproof. This is important for future usage of the model for blood flow simulation. A network of mesoscale vessels (of diameter smaller than the voxel side) is synthesized at the branch terminations of the macroscale surface model, using constrained numerical optimization. This is a step toward modeling the whole brain vasculature.","PeriodicalId":413894,"journal":{"name":"2016 Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA)","volume":"11 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121004609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
