The rapid growth in utility connected PV farms has opened new possibilities, and due to its flexibility and dispatchability PV farms can handle the grid support functions more effectively, whereas its ability to mitigate the SSR is rarely investigated. In this study potential of PV farm to mitigate SSR is explored by augmenting the GSC control loop with damping controller using a control signal which is closely related to the network resonant mode, utility scale PV power stations are promising solutions to combat the increasing demand and grid functions. The simulation studies are performed in MATLAB/Simulink software using IEEE Second Benchmark Model (SBM) for SSR studies. However, owing to complex, large and widely distributed nature of power system, there are various uncertainties in the power system problems. Moreover recently introduced restructuring and deregulation of power utilities have created new issues for the existing power system problems. The solutions searched by mathematical optimization are usually optimum locally and it is desirable that solution of power system problem should be optimum globally. It is therefore obvious that power system problems cannot be dealt through strict mathematical formulation alone. Therefore in recent years various techniques such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) are being used in power system as an additional tool to mathematical optimization technique approaches. Various optimization techniques have been applied to solve various power system problems and large numbers of papers have been published in this area. Performance analysis of the UPFC is done in this work considering practical security constraints and implemented using MiPower. In order to reduce the search space and computation time, performance assessment of the device is executed only at the weaker buses and weaker lines of the system, which are identified using Fast Voltage Stability Index (FVSI). The UPFC losses such as switching losses of converters, losses due to coupling transformers and power transmission losses in UPFC are taken into account for power flow calculation. Considering practical upper and lower limits of voltage magnitude, an innovative voltage profile enhancement index (VPEI) is formulated. Speeding vehicles are more likely to fall prey to unwanted hazards than the slow moving vehicles like bicycles. Notifying the fast rear approaching vehicles is always a problem for a cyclist because looking back frequently is not a good idea. This raises the concern for finding a technical way to help cyclists perceiving the rear approaching vehicles. The increasing safety of cyclists on the suburban roads is important to overcome the hazardous situations. Thus an alerting system needs to be mounted on the bicycle for warning the cyclist. The sensor used to generate the alarm signal should capture the data from the nearby surroundings and compare and analyse the captured data and gives a timely and accurate results in real time. Acoustic detection of vehicles can also works on the principle of Doppler Effect by detecting the Doppler shift. Microphone is chosen as the sensor to record the sound from the rear vehicles and MATLAB is the analysing tool. When a rear vehicle is nearby the cyclist, the microphone records the acoustic signal and this shows peak in the energy. The values are then stored in double precision array. The design of the system includes the generation of audio features that correlates well when a vehicle comes from behind. To protect this data communicated over network from attackers is major challenge for data and telecommunication organization. Cryptography is used in organization to preserve confidentiality or security. AES is symmetric cryptographic algorithm recommended by NIST in 2001 for its easy implementation and strong security. In recent years, attackers are expert about all cryptographic algorithms including AES. Some effective variation to existing algorithm can make attacker’s task difficult. In this paper, valid variation is implemented to AES so to make attacker’s job tough. Key which is heart of cryptographic process is made dynamic using function of time mixed with salt which will make cryptography unbreakable and Substitute box (S-box) is converted to dynamic S-box to avoid study and analysis of static set of s-box. However, reactive power transfer capability of such DGs must be utilized to satisfy load reactive power requirement or to provide reactive power support to the grid. Reactive power management for several such PV based DGs operating in parallel is a challenging task as the available reactive power capacity of each depends on the environmental conditions and may vary continuously. The proposed control strategy considers the effect of environmental conditions on the active power generated by the DGs and accordingly assigns reactive power references for the inverters after computing the available capacity of the inverters. Hence, irrespective of variation in active powers of the DGs, the proposed algorithm not only helps to avoid the overloading of the inverters but also operates all inverters at same apparent power rating to ensure that all inverters are utilized equally. The algorithm is evaluated in terms of its capability to obtain the best solution that gives the least standard deviation of utilization factors of the inverters. The aim of this paper is to propose a few modifications in the original design of CSP transformer as to add some new features for protection of transformer, such as, from overheating, reaching over current limit and under voltage. Commonly, fault occurred in transformers are owed to the specified reasons. Defending transformer from any damages, its monitoring and control of the entire electrical system can be done with the support and benefit of embedded system. This necessitates the use of appropriate and cost effective technologies in housing construction. The use of conventional construction materials in the housing sector poses primarily two major problems, firstly they are comparatively costly and secondly they cause pollution and disturb the environmental balance. To overcome this, there is a need for developing cost effective, durable and environmental friendly building materials, particularly keeping in mind the low income group and economically weaker sections of the population. In this paper deliberations has been made to identify and discuss about various types of eco-friendly and cost effective material technologies, with overall focus on the need of common man. The present state of Housing and special needs of Urban India is also discussed. Further, how planning of low cost Housing can be made is also deliberated. The existing various Govt.
