Its concept is to provide a platform to everybody to build and develop technical competences in different aspects of industrial digitalization and robotics. This is realized through four programs that act as pillars of the facility: Workshops, Theses, Events, and Projects. The first pillar includes offering several interactive Workshops to drive technology transfer with a focus on digitalization in the society. Mostly, pupils and students participate here. The Workshops comprise giving a theoretical overview of the topic followed by hands-on projects, thereby focusing equally on theory and practice. The Workshop topics are related to industrial digitalization and range from Collaborative Robotics, over Drones and Automation to 3D-Printing and Augmented and Virtual Reality. Further, scientific Theses are a focus topic of the Learning Factory. Here, the facility provides research opportunities to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students to write their Bachelors, Masters or PhD Theses, respectively. For example, research regarding possible applications of collaborative Robots and their role as assistant to people with disability, techniques to make them smarter through marker-based localization system are some recent projects. As the next pillar, public Events and symposiums are organized to extend the transfer of knowledge. Hereby, the target group are all the people who are interested. Furthermore, the Learning Factory demonstrates several research projects at different fairs. Finally, research Projects at the Learning Factory are carried out by professional researchers through working on various funded projects to innovate digitalization processes. A wide range of industrial oriented projects, like the industrialization of a Time-of-Flight 3D-Camera or the visualization of a 3D-print simulation in Augmented Reality are addressed. Additionally, the experts support the Theses, conduct the Workshops and are speakers at the Events.","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115772923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Highlighting the past and present events in technology development that helped usher in the age of decentralization, the article examines the role of technology-based networking in the evolution of decentralization. The evolution of increased networking capabilities had real economic consequences. Platform business proliferation, the API economy, the sharing economy, and the network information economy are key examples. Similar economic consequences can be expected in the aftermath of the decentralized technology infrastructure evolution. The article concludes with a discussion of decentralized technology infrastructure upgrades that enable the evolving age of technology, business, and societal decentralization.","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127601777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High-profile cases include VW’s Dieselgate scandal with fines worth of $34.69B, Knight Capital’s bankruptcy (~$450M) by a glitch in its algorithmic trading system, and Amazon’s AI recruiting tool being scrapped after showing bias against women. In response, governments are legislating and imposing bans, regulators fining companies, and the Judiciary discussing potentially making algorithms artificial “persons” in Law. \u0000 \u0000Soon there will be ‘billions’ of algorithms making decisions with minimal human intervention; from autonomous vehicles and finance, to medical treatment, employment, and legal decisions. Indeed, scaling to problems beyond the human is a major point of using such algorithms in the first place. As with Financial Audit, governments, business and society will require Algorithm Audit; formal assurance that algorithms are legal, ethical and safe. A new industry is envisaged: Auditing and Assurance of Algorithms (cf. Data privacy), with the remit to professionalize and industrialize AI, ML and associated algorithms. \u0000 \u0000The stakeholders range from those working on policy and regulation, to industry practitioners and developers. We also anticipate the nature and scope of the auditing levels and framework presented will inform those interested in systems of governance and compliance to regulation/standards. Our goal in this paper is to survey the key areas necessary to perform auditing and assurance, and instigate the debate in this novel area of research and practice.","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"118 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126419493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

LRMoE offers several new distinctive features which are motivated by various actuarial applications and mostly cannot be achieved using existing packages for mixture models. Key features include a wider coverage on frequency and severity distributions and their zero inflation, the flexibility to vary classes of distributions across components, parameter estimation under data censoring and truncation, and a collection of insurance rate making and reserving functions. The package also provides several model evaluation and visualization functions to help users easily analyze the performance of the fitted model and interpret the model in insurance contexts.","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121520177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every article clearly gives us the view on how teamwork and creative work would be in a Company. Always any design of a product or equipment starts with a brainstorming session. It involves how well the design is planned and on how well the sketch is drawn. For every product to be developed there would be a series of brainstorming sessions where the outline of the product design is sketched out before giving a final call. Once the brainstorming session is done then it would go for the design process, first a preliminary design is done and then later modified to a perfect shape. This gives me a clear view on how systematic ways are followed in developing a new product. The concept step sets basic direction and boundaries for the entire development process by clarifying the type of product, the problem the product solves and the financial and technical goals to be achieved by the product. By designing the product it would be the best way to create and construct the product. The methods of saving the design are also interesting, like saving the images, taking snapshots of the design, keep track of the modifications of both part and BOM revisions so we won’t need a second guess on the changes that occurred. It would be saved accurately and won’t have any disturbances in it at all.<br>","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"214 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123629527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to the fact that VCs were designed to operate without the need for a centralized authority and consequently, regulating VCs has posed a challenge for most jurisdictions across the world. Further, due to the volatile nature of VCs and their ability to destabilize the market in the long run, most regulators have tried to nip the problem in the bud by not allowing VCs to operate in a manner similar to fiat currency. However, while VCs do not have legal tender status which is guaranteed by a centralized authority, they operate in a manner that is very similar to generic currency. They may be used as a medium of exchange, a unit of account, a store of value, and may be used to as a method for the discharge of debts.<br><br>That being said, VCs have been restrictively defined by regulators to ensure that they may not function as money to ensure that they cannot turn into a valid medium of exchange that replaces the traditional fiat currency. In India, a similar trend is reported with the RBI prohibiting the entities regulated by it to enter into or facilitate transactions that involve VCs. Furthermore, the legislature is also considering a law to prohibit the use, issuance, transfer, mining, generation, disposal or sale of crypto-currencies within the territory of India.<br><br>The present paper seeks to determine and analyze the true nature of VCs from a legal viewpoint. To that end, Part I introduces the main issues that are to be dealt with in the present paper; Part II of the paper is a cross-jurisdictions analysis of how VCs have been treated and defined by regulators, legislators and courts across the world; Part III deals with the treatment of VCs in India by the Government and the RBI, with a special focus on the Supreme Court’s judgement in Internet and Mobile Association of India v. Reserve Bank of India to determine the legal definition and status of VCs in India; and Part IV concludes.<br>","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133347277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transition into such a “stall economy” paradigm is being spurred by the rapidly advancing self-driving technologies. In “Stall Economy: The Value of Mobility in Retail on Wheels,” Cao and Qi provide models, theory, and insights of spatial queueing systems, in which one server moves around to meet mobile customers and in which the “last 100 meters” are expensive. They derive the dependence of customer waiting and stall repositioning on two key decisions: the service zone size and the walking distance imposed on customers to meet a stall. They also propose a stylized joint truck-stall routing model to capture the inventory replenishment operations. They find that the stall economy potentially profits more than stationary retail, not only because of the mobility of stalls for providing proximity to customers but also, because of its operational flexibilities that allow for avoiding the “last 100 meters” and pooling demands.","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124172969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Comprehensive tests have been carried out to justify and confront the attenuation impacts of rain, cloud and water vapor oxygen for various wave length channels. The result of the atmospheric impairments is obtained by the parameters which are resembled to the real world measurements. Moreover, the performance is analyzed by the use of different propagation modules and transmission parameters that are frequently used in satellite and radar communications. Experimental results indicate that the attenuation effect due to rain has initiated at frequencies above 10 GHz while, other atmospheric effects preceded by attenuation of the cloud and gasses have less effect. It is also observed that during frequency transmission, the rate of rainfall and relative humidity become directly proportional to signal quality degradation.","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115387184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, such a situation is undesirable for some practical applications of ellipses. It can be prevented by modeling the specified curves in oblique coordinates, which, in turn, are related to a certain original Cartesian coordinate system. The Lame superellipses are understood to be the curves whose equations include the exponents that differ from those inherent in regular ellipses. Variating these exponents can produce a wide range of different curves. This paper has proposed a method for the geometric modeling of superellipses in the oblique coordinate systems. The source data for modeling are the coordinates of the two points with the known angles of the tangent slope. The accepted axes of the oblique coordinate system are the straight lines drawn as follows. Through the first point, a line parallel to the tangent at the second point is built, and at the second point, a line parallel to the tangent at the first point is constructed. It has been shown that these operations could yield the desired values of tangent angles at intersection points of the superellipse with axial lines. It has been proven that the superellipse arc could be drawn through a third given point with the required angle of the tangent; that, however, would require determining the exponents in the superellipse equation by a numerical method. Such a situation occurs, for example, when designing the projected profiles of axial turbine blades. Based on the proposed method of modeling the superellipse curves, a computer code has been developed that could be used in describing the contours of components applied in the technologically complex industries","PeriodicalId":411716,"journal":{"name":"Software Engineering eJournal","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121683348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
