Anthropogenic activities in changing the land have caused earth surface change. This change has a role to increase the change of global greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which also causes the increase greenhouse gases emission. Land cover change and forestry are sectors which cause high carbon emission. Therefore, a study in land cover change and estimation of carbon emission becomes important. This study took place in Jambi Province where deforestation has been in a high pace. In 2009 and 2011, the dominant area is dryland agriculture mixed with bush followed by secondary forest, i.e. 25% and 18.6%, respectively (in 2009); and 37.1% and 18.9%, respectively (in 2011). For the secondary forest, the gain was caused by the conversion of dryland agriculture mixed with bush and shrub into secondary forest. The loss of secondary forest is the highest among other forest cover at around 87,765 Ha due to the conversion into bare land and dryland agriculture mixed with bush. Kabupaten ini juga terletak di kawasan Teluk Tolo yang memiliki potensi sumber daya alam untuk pengembangan di Indonesia Timur. Oleh karena itu, konflik sosial mungkin terjadi sebagai akibat dari perencanaan pembangunan daerah yang tidak tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bahaya konflik sosial di Kabupaten Banggai Laut berdasarkan perencanaan pembangunan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kabupaten Banggai Laut memiliki potensi konflik sosial yang tinggi yaitu pada daerah dimana akan terjadi pembebasan lahan dan pada daerah tanah sengketa sebagai akibat dari pelaksanaan perencanaan pembangunan daerah. Pada tahun  1883 pernah terjadi tsunami besar akibat letusan Gunung Krakatau yang telah memakan korban sekitar 36.000 jiwa. Risiko bencana tsunami akan sangat besar bagi Kota Cilegon karena terletak di wilayah pesisir dengan tingkat kepadatan penduduk dan aktivitas perekonomian yang cukup tinggi. Risiko bencana yang tinggi dapat diminimalisir jika suatu wilayah memiliki tingkat kemampuan penanganan  atau kapasitas yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu kajian tentang kemampuan penanganan terhadap bencana tsunami di kota ini menjadi sangat penting. Penilaian kemampuan penanganan terhadap ancaman bencana tsunami ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode MCE (Multi Criteria Evaluation) dan teknik GIS (Geographical Information System). Kesehatan, kesiapsiagaan dan jumlah penduduk bekerja adalah tiga indikator penting yang digunakan dalam penilaian kemampuan penanganan di wilayah pesisir Kota Cilegon. Kekeringan itu juga melanda  propinsi Riau  dan kondisi daerahnya dari tahun ke tahun  semakin parah karena  kemarau panjang. Musim kemarau di bulan Juli 2015, sebanyak 17 kecamatan yang tersebar di enam kabupaten dan kota di tengah Pulau Sumatera itu tidak mengalami hujan selama lebih dari 30 hari. Keadaan ini menyebabkan bencana kekeringan danberdampak terhadap krisis air  di lokasi tersebut serta daerah sekitarnya  seperti di kabupaten Pelalawan. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap bencana kekeringan yang terjadi dan mitigasi yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi bencana tersebut yang dapat diterapkan di kabupaten Pelalawan, Riau. Bencana kekeringan yang termasuk klasifikasi kekeringan sosio-ekonomi telah terjadi di kabupaten Pelalawan berupa kekurangan sumber air, kekeringan sumber air sungai dan kekeringan di lahan gambut. Mitigasi untuk mengatasi bencana kekeringan dapat dilakukan dalam jangka panjang maupun jangka pendek. Mitigasi jangka pendek di kawasan Teknopolitan Pelalawan yaitu dengan pembuatan sumur air tanah dalam dengan kedalaman sampai 110 meter. Sedangkan mitigasi jangka panjang di kabupaten  tersebut dengan pembangunan sekat kanal. Meanwhile, Center of Jakarta as the capital city, many governmental, economic, and business activities are conducted in this area. And also Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques are commonly used for monitoring and damage assessment for many natural and geological hazards. The present study, GIS techniques have been used to generate various thematic layers to assess earthquake hazard with a suitable numerical ranking scheme, mesh processing, and spatial data integration. The results also show that the proposed model provides reasonable earthquake potential index (EPI) from elevation, slope, magnitude, active fault, and epicentre parameters compared to the peak ground acceleration (PGA) in Center of Jakarta. The result of the EPI map explained just a little area in Center of Jakarta has very high EPI. Very high EPI area mostly in southeastern part in the study area, exactly in Menteng sub-district. And also illustrated, spatially in the more northward area indicate the smaller of the EPI in the study area. The purpose of this study is to obtain information related to the hazard management of multi-story buildings’ non-structural elements from the authorities, namely FEMA and SPRINT-Lab. This study is a qualitative study focused on reviewing the information that is relevant for future adaptation in Indonesia. The collected literature was then analyzed descriptively. The results of this review underlined the three most important stages that became the focus of hazard management from multi-story buildings’ non-structural elements, namely: the process of identification, the process of prioritization and the process of determining mitigation actions that need to be taken. The watershed is divided into two main parts namely upstream and downstream watersheds which are limited by Bekasi Dam. High rainfall in the upstream often causes flooding in Pondok Gede Permai Estate, Bekasi City. To improve community preparedness, a flood early warning system (FEWS) has been installed which consists of 5 monitoring stations along the Cileungsi and Cikeas Rivers in 2017. The main question that needs to be answered in this paper is how long the upstream flood peak will reach community settlements ? Based on the recorded data on the LEWS instrument, the flood peak travel time from the upstream station to the affected area can be calculated empirically. The results ofthe time calculation can be used by stakeholders to carry out evacuation after an early warning is given. The parameter used in this analysis are the river water level at several monitoring stations on the Cileungsi River, namely: Cibongas Irrigation Dam,WIKA Bridge and Pondok Gede Permai.Bencana banjir yang terjadi di DAS Bekasi sering menimbulkan kerugian harta benda maupun korban jiwa. DAS ini terbagi atas dua bagian utama yaitu DASbagian hulu dan bagian hilir yang dibatasi oleh Bendung Bekasi. Curah hujan yang tinggi di DAS bagian hulu sering menimbulkan banjir di Perumahan Pondok Gede Permai, Kota Bekasi. Untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat di perumahan tersebut, maka telah dipasang sistem peringatan dini banjir (Flood Early Warning System/LEWS) yang terdiri dari 5 stasiun pemantauan di sepanjang Sungai Cileungsi dan Cikeas pada tahun 2017. Pertanyaan utama yang perlu dijawab dalam makalah ini adalah berapa lama puncak banjir di bagianhulu akan mencapai permukiman masyarakat ? Berdasarkan basis data yang telah terekam pada instrument LEWS tersebut, waktu perjalanan puncak banjir dari stasiun hulu menunju area terdampak dapat dihitung secara empirik. Hasil perhitungan waktu tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan oleh para pemangku kepentingan untuk melakukan evakuasi setelah peringatan dini diberikan. Kebutuhan lahan, merupakan permasalahan yang pokok pada saat meningkatnya kegiatan ekonomi dan sosial bagi masyarakat serta tuntutan perkembangan fisik kota yang naik secara signifikan dan tidak diimbangi dengan ketersediaan lahan itu sendiri. Ini merupakan tantangan bagi BPBD Kabupaten Banggai Laut  untuk mengidentifikasi lebih detil daerah banjir dengan skala kabupaten berdasarkan keterbatasan data pendukung yang biasanya terjadi di daerah kepulauan ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi daerah-daerah potensi banjir di Kabupaten Banggai Laut dengan metode indeks kebasahan dan melakukan validasi keakuratan metode dengan observasi lapangan. Hasilnya, Kabupaten Banggai Laut tidak memiliki potensi bahaya banjir kelas tinggi.
