This paper proposed a multi-band spectral detection scheme based on Modified Discrete Fourier Transform (MDFT) modulated filter bank. The detection probability expression of the cognitive radio system under MDFT modulated filter bank structure was derived. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the CR system based on MDFT filter bank has higher stop-band attenuation than the system based on OFDM with using rectangular window function as prototype filter. This method eliminates the need for pilot symbols for channel estimation, equalization and there is no need for accurate phase tracking at the receiver which is particularly important in Relay aided cooperative system. This DAPSK based non-coherent differential detection method is spectrally efficient and more robust to non linear distortion. Recognition by machine is still a challenging problem. To automate the recognition for human machine interaction, a system is proposed in this paper. The proposed system uses shape descriptors to identify twelve land marks which mainly contribute to the facial expression recognition. From the location and the size or boundary of the land marks by matching with Facial Landmark Model (FLM), basic expressions are identified. The experimental results show that the shape descriptors and post processing correctly identifies landmarks automatically. LTE runs on an advancement of the obtainable UMTS infrastructure already used by over 80 percent of mobile subscribers worldwide. We have very inadequate resources in cellular technologies and it is important to utilize them with high efficiency. Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) & Orthogonal Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) are most important division of LTE. OFDMA was well utilized for achieving high spectral efficiency in communication method. SC-FDMA is introduced in recent times and it became handy candidate for uplink multiple access scheme in LTE system that is a project of Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). An optimized content based image retrieval system based on local visual attention features to bridge the semantic gap problem is proposed. The approach involves the salient point detection using Scale Up Robust Features (SURF) detector. Feature vector characterizing the interest points immune to rotation include the extraction of correlogram as color feature, a new texture pattern named Optimized Rotational invariant Local Binary Pattern (OR-LBP) with high dimensionality reduction as texture feature and the area of convex hull as shape feature. Similarity matching technique is implemented with minimum Manhattan distance between query image and database image. For a specific domain, a form of knowledge discovery called data mining is necessary for solving the problems. The classes of unknown data are detected by the technique called classification. Neural networks, rule based, decision trees, Bayesian are the some of the existing methods used for classification. It is necessary to filter the irrelevant attributes before applying any mining techniques. Embedded, Wrapper and Filter techniques are various feature selection techniques used for filtering. In this paper, we have proposed an improved method using the existing cosine similarity measure for selecting the attributes from a large number of attributes. The decision tree classification technique J48 algorithm and Naive Bayes classifier are used. The above techniques are analyzed by two different datasets taken from the UCI repository and the results are generated. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is one of the prominent protocol that contributes a considerable amount of internet traffic as the vast majority of internet applications such as file transfer, messaging service, mail services, etc. was based on TCP. However, TCP performs poorly under vehicular wireless environment due to its high mobility and wireless errors such as fading and interferences that lead to unpredicted packet drop. In this paper the behavioral aspects of existing standard TCP variants such as Vegas, Compound, Westwood, New Reno, BIC and CUBIC were rigorously tested and analyzed under vehicular environment for variable speed and traffic.
