In this paper, we focus on the problem of automatic identification of positive and negative sentiment polarity of citations in scientific papers. In this work, we conducted empirical research to investigate the classification of positive and negative citations. It is based on word vectors as a feature space, to which the examined citation context was mapped to. In order to handle with the huge amount of data, we have implemented our proposed approach in a distributed manner according to MapReduce paradigm through the Hadoop framework.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"169 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115323766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reviews of products by customers have been proliferating on the online platform for a while. Since a large number of reviews are available, invariably customers read reviews before buying the product. Majority of the reviews are lengthy and repetitive, some of them even have nothing to do with the product itself. Going through the reviews before making a decision has become a tedious task. Further, the product selection is a complex decision making problem where several criteria are involved in the decision making process. Researchers have used methods like machine learning and sentiment classification to analyze the review of customers to summarize them. However, review summarization does not suggest the best/worst product. This study aims to recommend the best product based on the opinions expressed in the customers' reviews. We analyze the reviews of customers from various online platforms and use effective multi criteria decision making approach to evaluate and recommend the best suitable product. Real-time dataset from Flipkart and Amazon are used to evaluate our system's performance. Different case studies have shown that our proposed method produces a promising result which can help the user in the decision making process.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121061649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data is often compared to highly valued commodities and is considered the currency of digital economy. However, there is no widely used method to estimate the value, therefore similar type of data could be valued differently within the same processes, lacking consistency. Additionally, data volume has an exponential growth and data are shared among multiple vendors especially when Industrial-Internet-of-Things platforms and digital ecosystems are engaged. Therefore, knowing the worth of data and its derivatives or phases such as information, knowledge and wisdom are important for stakeholders. The goal of this research is to derive a practical approach for valuation, by considering past, present and future benefits of the collected data, considering already known Key Performance Indicators and Key Prediction Indicators that will be developed based on predictive analytics capabilities. Categorization of data, and its subsequent phases within a system will be modelled and profound value in each phase, and overall value in a network of systems will be developed.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122673327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With this goal, we propose to adapt user interfaces to users' emotions. This requires being able to detect at runtime negative emotions to trigger adaptations. However, emotions depend on users' gender and age. This makes it difficult to identify negative emotions and their cause. This paper studies the categorization of emotions depending on users' age and gender and two user experience dimensions (aesthetics and usability). Thanks to an experiment, it proposes some emotions thresholds that can be used for detecting usability and aesthetics problems from users' age and gender. These results are used in a user interface adaptation system to infer negative emotions and user interface problems.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128311482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lip reading is a process where visual information is extracted by watching lip movements of the speaker with or without sound. So, reliable lip movements are required to extract visual information. To our knowledge, this is the first work for lip movement recognition for Myanmar consonants. So, the major challenge is to recognize lip movements because of many possible lip motions and lip shapes. The accuracy and reliability of speech recognition systems can be improved by using visual information from the movements of the lips, and the need for lip-reading systems continues to grow for every language. Therefore, this paper presents Myanmar consonant recognition based on lip movements toward lip reading by using CIELa∗b∗ color transformation, Moore Neighborhood Tracing Algorithm and linear SVM classifier. The purpose of this study was to develop a visual training technique to accurately identify the characteristics of the movement of the lips for hearing impairment.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114179180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This technology contributes to the success stories of several companies. Nowadays, companies are looking for real-time analytics for data issued from fresh data sources and external resources as knowledge bases and linked open data. The traditional life-cycle of designing DW applications has to be revisited to meet this requirement. Note that this life-cycle is composed of several well-connected phases. Integrating this requirement will seriously impact all phases in charge of data which are: ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and the physical design phase, in which physical optimization structures are selected to speed up OLAP queries. In this paper, we propose a Near Real Time Data Warehouse design (NRTDW) dealing with semantic data sources, with a particular focus on ETL and physical design phases. Firstly, we propose a dynamic materialized view selection method based on a workload of Sparql queries. Secondly, optimized algorithms are proposed to orchestrate the ETL flows considering the selected materialized views. Thirdly, an incremental view maintenance strategy recomputing only the graphs that involve the updated data sources is proposed. Finally, our findings are validated through an intensive experimentation using a detailed cost model on a real DBMS.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133902488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today, many indicators and sensor systems are designed to produce alert and reduce disaster risks. These systems have proved to be effective but they remain complex, include different expertise components, and are difficult to manage. We study in this paper the case of the National Early-Warning System in France (called SAIP), which can be seen as a System of Systems (SoS). A lot of SoSs exist. They can be directed, collaborative, virtual or even acknowledged systems. We study here what type of system corresponds to the French Early-Warning System, which openings may reasonably be considered for this system and we introduce a new category of SoSs: “delimited systems”.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134278422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Usually, in the literature, the conflict identification uses catalogs to indicate conflicting NFRs. The authors focus on NFRs that are generic to any system. However, applications from Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp) and Internet of Things (IoT) introduce new kind of NFRs (e.g., Context-Awareness and Mobility). They are not included in these catalogs and can impact the traditional ones (e.g., Security and Usability). Therefore, there is a need to create a catalog that considers conflicts among quality characteristics for UbiComp and IoT applications. However, the literature lacks a process or guideline about how to create a catalog. This paper aims then to present a process and initial findings towards a catalog of conflicts between specific HCI quality characteristics in UbiComp and IoT applications and Usability.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"197 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132552463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, there is an immense need for the development of effective approaches to understand cyber terrorist organizations structures, working strategies, and operation tactics. A terrorist community is a set of subgroups, which share many properties but differ on others, such as degree of activity and roles. The identification of these sub-communities is a key task not only to understand the topology of these organizations but also to discover their operation methods. In this paper, we propose a cyber community detection approach based on Constrained Evidential C-Means (CECM) algorithm which is an adequate evidential clustering method that can be applied to detect cyber terrorist subgroups. Based on Must-link and Cannot-link constraints, objects (network members) can be classified into various sub-classes Cn, such as military, finance and local leaders committees. The membership of nodes to clusters (sub-communities) is described by Belief functions. Clustering results show the efficiency of our evidential constrained approach not only in classifying cyber terrorist actors into the aforementioned communities, but also in allocating a degree of membership for each member to each class.","PeriodicalId":408651,"journal":{"name":"2018 12th International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114543065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
