However, to fulfil this basic function, preservatives should be appropriately selected for a given cosmetic formulation. The article aimed to present the key concepts regarding the preservation of cosmetics and legal regulations in this area. Moreover, cosmetics of low microbiological risk were characterised and the studies verifying the effectiveness of preserving cosmetic products were presented. The key to reduce the likelihood of microbial infections is to identify their origin. Therefore, in order to limit potential primary and secondary contamination in cosmetic products, it is necessary to determine and find a solution to reduce the sources of these infections.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129141607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dominant hypotheses that aim to explain the pathophysiology of cellulite indicate an excessive accumulation of water in the intercellular matrix, negative changes in tissue microcirculation, differentiated anatomical structure of tissues depending on sex, race, biological type, hormonal changes in the body, lifestyle together with diet and physical activity. Predispositions to the development of lipodystrophy are genetically and hormonally conditioned, however, environmental factors are also important. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of combined therapy with the use of radio waves and vacuum-mechanical massage in a 27-year-old woman.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114768509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The accumulation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) effects negatively the aging process of the skin, modifying the biochemical, structural, and morphological properties of the skin. The study aimed to describe the mechanisms and effects of AGEs on the cells of the epidermis, dermis, vascular endothelium, as well as extracellular matrix proteins and intercellular lipids. Scientific research is being conducted to find substances that effectively inhibit the glycation process and the accompanying glycooxidation.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122523999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mechanisms that are responsible for the visible skin lesions are still being recognized, and it is impossible to put a single factor that is culpable for the development of this dermatosis. The aim of the article is to describe the possible pathogenesis of adult acne with a description of the disorders occurring at the level of skin cells. The main focus is directed to the particular role of the endocrine system in the development of adult acne in women over 25 years of age and related diseases such as polycystic ovarian syndrome. They are available as ampoules, capsules, or tablets which improve skin elasticity and tone, as well as increase its hydration. Supplements, that prevent excessive hair loss and support the proper growth of nails, are also classified as nutricosmetics. Many supplements contain compounds of plant origin that are rich in active ingredients and exhibit a beneficial effect on the physiology of the skin and its appendages. The aim of this study was to assess the health-promoting effects of selected species of medicinal plants used in nutricosmetics based on the latest literature reports. During the analysis of specific species, the herbal raw material, main biologically active substances, their action, and application were taken into account. Active ingredients are obtained from many parts of plants, including fruits, leaves, and herbs. They are a source of flavonoids, mineral salts, vitamins, and antioxidants of antiaging, and anti-inflammatory properties. The wide use of plant raw materials of popular species and the richness of active ingredients of multidimensional action obtained from them, creates great opportunities for the dietary supplement industry.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116055403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
