Early prevention by using screening through anthropometric measurements such as body mass index, neck circumference, and skinfold thickness is needed in assessing nutritional status. The research method is descriptive-analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The research subjects consisted of 77 students of the Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of North Sumatra who were taken using the consecutive sampling method. Research results based on male and female gender and nutritional status category, the average BMI for men was 25.0 kg/m2 (Obesity I), and for women was 24.6 kg/m2 (Overweight). The mean neck circumference for men is 38.5 cm (Large), for women is 37.1 cm (Large), and based on the neck circumference cut-off point, classified as Obesity Level I. The average of skinfold thickness is 23.6 mm for men and 18.4 mm for women. The average body fat percentage for men is 23.5% (Fat), and for women is 27.5% (Slightly Overfat). Spearman correlation test showed a significant relationship between neck circumference and skinfold thickness on body mass index (p<0,05) with a strong correlation on neck circumference (r=0.526) and a very strong correlation on skinfold thickness (r=0.837), and the direction of correlation is in the same direction (positive). There is a significant relationship between neck circumference and skinfold thickness on body mass index.","PeriodicalId":408483,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL KESMAS DAN GIZI (JKG)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139308363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows the prevalence that males experience more heart disease than females. Systemic and pulmonary disorders often occur because blood flow fails to enter the tissues due to failure of the heart pump, which affects the patient's hemodynamics. Changes in position have an impact on changes in central venous pressure values. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an effect of giving a combination of semi-Fowler's position with right lateral to changes in hemodynamic status of heart failure patients. Quasi experiment with one group pre test and post test method was used in this study. There were 10 respondents who were sampled using the quota sampling technique. This research was conducted at GrandMed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The measuring instrument used in this study is an observation sheet. Data analysis was performed using paired simple T test. The results of this study obtained a p value = 0.001, this indicates that there is an effect of giving a combination of semi-Fowler's position with right lateral to changes in hemodynamic status in heart failure patients. Semi-Fowler's and lateral position actions help reduce oxygen consumption and increase maximum lung expansion and overcome damage to gas exchange so that it can reduce tightness and affect hemodynamic status. It is expected that nurses will provide education to patients so they want to change the semi-fowler's position with a right lateral combination in order to improve the patient's hemodynamic quality. \u0000 \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":408483,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL KESMAS DAN GIZI (JKG)","volume":"352 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125635685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Self-medication is known as self medication or self-medication is defined as a treatment effort using drugs purchased at pharmacies or drug stores freely without a prescription from a doctor. Self-medication is done because it is sufficient to treat health problems experienced, for example, illnesses with mild symptoms and can heal themselves in a short time such as pain, fever, cough, cold, and minor injuries. Drugs without a doctor's prescription such as free and limited free drugs are relatively safe to use for self-medication.This type of research is quantitative analytical research with descriptive. This study is to determine the level of knowledge of self-medication in adolescents in Simpang Selayang Village by approaching, observing or collecting data at once and providing education. Based on questionnaire data, it is known that the gender of female adolescents has a higher level of knowledge of self-medication than male adolescents. It can be concluded that the age level of late adolescents has a higher level of knowledge of self-medication than early adolescents. In this study, the level of knowledge of the last education of higher education towards self-medication is higher than those who have the last education either elementary, junior high or high school. Indonesia has the number of people with diabetes mellitus in 2017 as many as 10.3 million people and it is predicted that in 2045 this number will increase to 16.7 million people. If this cannot be handled properly, it will cause health problems for sufferers, including increasing the risk of complications. Compliance with a sufferer's diet is an important point to pay attention to in an effort to overcome the problem of diabetes. This compliance plays an important role in influencing the patient's blood glucose levels. Therefore researchers was interested in knowing the correlation between adherence to a low-carbohydrate diet and decreased blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus type II at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The design of this study was carried out in an observational analytic manner with a cross-sectional method at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total sample of 35 people. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between adherence to a low-carbohydrate diet and decreased blood sugar levels in type II diabetes mellitus patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. In addition, durian peel also contains terpenoid compounds which have been proven using the Lieberman Burchard reagent so that a blackish brown ring is produced in the extract. The best hand sanitizer product formulation is 75 mL of 96% ethanol, 2 mL of glycerin, 3 mL of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 10 mL of distilled water and 10 mL of a 6% concentration of durian peel extract solution. The hand sanitizer product has a liquid form, has a clear brownish color, has a distinctive durian rind aroma with a pH around 6 indicating that the hand sanitizer is suitable for use. This drink can be found easily in North Sumatra. The content of purple passion fruit and Dutch eggplant is rich in nutritional compounds, especially micronutrients and bioactive compounds. This makes the martabe drink a functional drink that not only quenches thirst and is delicious but also good for health. The high content of micro compounds in the form of vitamins and minerals, as well as bioactive compounds (antioxidants), makes it susceptible to damage. Making a martabe drink in powder form is an effort to maintain the nutritional value and essential bioactive compounds. Instant powder drinks can also increase the shelf life, simplify the distribution process and increase the ease of increasing the economic value of passion fruit and Dutch eggplant. Martabe instant drink is made using the thin layer drying (TLD) technique. This technique was chosen because it can produce powdered drinks with a reasonably high yield without reducing the nutritional value during the process and is more effective and efficient. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and three replications with variations in the ratio of purple passion fruit and Dutch eggplant.
