Violence against the elderly exists in many forms but lack of exposure has made it difficult for the society to believe that there are elderly people who have become victims of violence. Although previous studies on violence against the elderly were not widespread, it is necessary to take proactive and immediate actions so that the welfare of this group is well taken care of. In fact, Islam encourages that the well-being of the elderly must always be preserved. This article aims to systematically review studies related to violence against the elderly, using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) model. The qualitative study used the systematic review method founded by Moher et al. in 2009. Studies in the scope of violence against the elderly were identified, examined, and reviewed using the PRISMA model.  This review has focused on four themes of violence against the elderly, namely the form of violence against the elderly, the factors of violence against the elderly, the effects of violence against the elderly, and the solutions in dealing with violence against the elderly. The review has also identified eleven forms of violence against the elderly, fourteen factors of violence against the elderly, two effects of violence against the elderly, and seven solutions to deal with violence against the elderly. The spiritual aspect was found to be an important element in dealing with violence against the elderly.\u0000 ","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123588517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Poor sleep quality happens to people of all ages worldwide, particularly university students. Numerous studies have reported that stress significantly correlates with sleep quality among university students from various courses. However, these variables were less explored by past researchers, specifically on engineering students. In order to explore more information on these variables among engineering university students, a cross-sectional, quantitative, correlational study is conducted to identify the relationship between stress and sleep quality among engineering students in Malaysia. A total of 272 undergraduate engineering students from three public universities in Malaysia were involved in the study. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were used. The result from the correlational analysis shows that there is a significant negative relationship between stress and sleep quality among engineering students. The study’s findings could be used as a reference for future studies and recommend interventions to improve students’ stress and sleep quality levels.","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116886626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process of passing on management and ownership of a family business to the next generation through inheritance is known as family business succession. A succession plan is crucial for ensuring the company's transition and continuity. The process of selecting a replacement in a small and medium enterprise (SME) is more difficult because the number of successor candidates is smaller than in a corporate firm. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the challenges and factors that incumbents must consider when selecting a successor and implementing a succession plan. The study's findings indicate that internal conflicts between the leader's business and family, the leader's obsession with his leadership legacy, and the successor's level of willingness to accept responsibility are the main obstacles to implementing a succession plan. The succession planning process considers a variety of factors, including education, competencies, demographic factors, relationships with family members and incumbents, experience, integrity, birth order, and primogeniture.","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"521 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115852193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This situation has given various physiological and mental problems to students due to the transition from traditional teaching and learning approaches to online. The long focus on using digital devices during TnL has brought physical and mental fatigue to students. This research aims to identify the relationship between the five ZOOM fatigue domains (general; visual, social, motivational, emotional) among college students (n=215). A cross-sectional study was conducted using the \"ZOOM & Fatigue Fatigue\" Scale (ZEF) (Fauville et al., 2021) which contains 15 items used to collect data for general fatigue; visual, social, motivational, and emotional. A Pearson correlation analysis was performed to identify the general fatigue domain relationship; visual, social, motivational, and emotional. The research results found that there is a strong to moderate relationship between the five ZOOM fatigue domains. This finding can help increase awareness of the effects of ZOOM fatigue on students' physical and psychological well-being. Apart from that, this study can help to introduce measures to make adjustments to undergo TnL online among students.","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131349725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, existing research shows that gender transcends mere classifications into male and female. Based on the nexus between gender and housing, a clear contextual understanding of the dynamics is vital to housing policies and design. This study, therefore, examines gender-based responses to housing attributes by deconstructing gender into the degree of masculinity or femininity rather than just being male or female. Upon a successful pilot study, questionnaire-based primary data were obtained by multi-stage sampling technique from 222 staff members of Osun State University Osogbo. Secondary data were obtained from the Academic Planning Unit of the University. Data obtained were descriptively analysed. Findings show similarities and differences based on gender (male/female) and gender identity. Gender similarities and differences were found in the importance of housing attributes, the perceived impact of housing attributes on domestic tasks, and the desirability of housing attributes. Results also show that respondents with Feminine Female (FF) gender identity placed high importance on housing attributes required to support frequently performed domestic tasks. In addition, only FF considered the availability of neighbourhood markets and schools (D= 0.02) highly impactful on household tasks. The study concluded that responses to housing attributes are gendered with variations concerning gender, gender identity and gender roles. It further established a relationship between responses to housing attributes and the domestic gender roles of respondents in the study area. Therefore, the study recommends adequate attention to gender in housing design, policy and process.","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115100626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Food delivery gig workers are among the important types of gig jobs especially in urban areas such as Johor Bahru. Thus, studies related to the economy of gigs, especially employees who are involved as food deliverers are also given attention by researchers. Therefore, this study aims to explore the experience of food delivery gig workers around Johor Bahru. Qualitative studies using phenomenological approaches were used to explore the working experiences of informants. Snowball sampling technique was used and through this technique 9 informants were obtained. Thematic analysis was applied to obtain the meaning of the experience of the informants interviewed in a semi -structured manner. The results of the study found that although the job is flexible, free and easy but high risk. The informant also described the gig job as still unstable in terms of job security and uncertain job prospects. This job is still considered a transition before the informant obtains a more secure permanent job. Therefore, the government and other stakeholders need to pay attention by offering policies that can ensure job security and reduce the vulnerability and risk of these gig workers.","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125733119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The items were constructed based on operational definitions from the literature and adapted based on the current context. The first administration (pre) of the Educational Student Professionalism Trait Questionnaire (STPMP) was in the second week, while the second administration (post) was in the thirteenth week of the study session 2021/2022 semester 1. The administrations were done through the Google Form application on 126 students taking Teacher Professionalism Course. Both data sets were analyzed to identify professionalism traits (pre and post), professionalism traits based on gender, the relationship between dimensions, and dominant dimensions that are predictors of professionalism traits. STPMP had undergone a consistency verification process (N = 42) where the Cronbach’s Alpha (r) reliability index is at (.95). The findings of the study showed that the mean score for the professionalism traits of the education students is at a moderately high level, while the mean score for the professionalism traits of male students is higher than female students. Next, (BS) is the highest dimension, while (MM) is the lowest dimension. There is also a significant effect on the professionalism of the student (p <0.05); four dominant dimensions are KK (.185), MM (.158), BS (.149), and AB (.139). IG is the dimension least influencing the professionalism traits of educational students.","PeriodicalId":407354,"journal":{"name":"Sains Humanika","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133241278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

APA possesses good functional properties such as improving emulsifying capacity, alternative for fat, alternative for eggs besides functions as a cheap protein alternative. There are opinion regards transformation of animal plasma into commercial APA is part of the sustainable effort to minimize environmental problems as a result the non-systematic disposal of animal blood into land and water. Moreover, some of the minor group of scholars claimed the prohibition attributes to spilled-out blood not the plasma which has transformed its physical characteristics. However, based on the collected qualitative data from numerous library sources and interview with the experts show that there is no room to permit its utilization unless in dharuriyh situation. To justify the arguments, the researchers propose a guideline of determination haram status animal plasma into surimi products that will be a good reference for other researchers to comprehend this issue. The analysis shows ‘illah (legal cause) of its prohibition due of its impurity characteristics as stated in the Islamic legal texts. Therefore, Industry 4.0 is expected to impact the employment structure and demand for labour, particularly low-skilled workers. This group is considered to be the most vulnerable to losing their jobs. Based on the questionnaire data obtained from fieldwork in Selangor, a total of 377 respondents of low-skilled workers were analysed. This study examines the ICT knowledge and skills of low-skilled workers towards Industry 4.0. The aspects studied are economic, labour market, technological and social. Using the Structured Equation Model (SEM), this study found that all aspects (economics, labour market and technology) are positive and significant in influencing the level of ICT knowledge and skills of employees. On the other hand, the social aspects involving the use of social media and knowledge of cybercrime were found to be insignificant.
