Si bien es cierto que se observó un repunte en mayo en comparación con el mes de abril, las estadísticas divulgadas por el Departamento Nacional de Estadística (DANE) para el primer semestre del año en curso son dramáticas. For this purpose, the economic and commercial profile for both countries, bilateral trade and the signed FTA were analyzed. Likewise, a gravity model for total and sectorial trade with panel data for the period of 1993-2013 is applied, finding consistencies with the theoretical postulates. Variables such as income of the importer and exporter countries determine positive and significant bilateral trade, while the distance and landlocked decrease the likelihood of trade. {"title":"Efecto derrame del mercado internacional en las economías latinoamericanas: los casos de Chile, Brasil, Colombia y México","authors":"Juan Manuel Candelo-Viáfara, Andres Oviedo-Gómez","doi":"10.19053/01203053.v39.n70.2020.10876","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.19053/01203053.v39.n70.2020.10876","url":null,"abstract":"In this research, the effects of spillover and volatility generated by oil, gas and coal prices on the industrial activity of the Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico economies are evaluated using the methodology proposed by Debold and Yilmaz (2012), characterized by the use of generalized autoregressive vectors, where the variance decomposition does not vary according to the order of the variables, thus measuring the contagion effects of total and directional volatility. The results show that these industries receive the financial spillover from the raw materials markets, caused by fluctuations in the prices of oil and coal and, in addition, behave as transmitters of the spillover caused by the fluctuations in gas prices. It corresponds to qualitative research with descriptive scope, framed in the interpretive paradigm. Documentary sources were consulted to achieve the objectives, and the information collected was submitted to a coding and categorization process through the Atlas Ti software. The results of the analysis allow us to present the findings in two sections: 1) the causes and process of Brexit, making special reference to the political reasons and the results of the 2016 vote; 2) the impacts of Brexit according to the analysis of the literature, which are codified and categorized for a better understanding of the phenomenon. Este trabajo revisa los postulados tras la reforma tributaria de 2018 en Colombia, conocida como Ley de Financiamiento, para mostrar, primero, que la tasa efectiva asociada al ISRE no es muy alta, para lo cual se consideran los datos agregados de las declaraciones tributarias de la Dirección de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales para el año 2016. Specifically, the state intervention in Formosa is studied, a province of the lagging periphery, differentiated by its low economic dynamism and historically marginalized in the national socio-spatial configuration. It is intended to show that, despite the “postneoliberal” turn of the Argentinian state in the period considered, the local/regional policies implemented in Formosa follow a neoliberalizing course. We take as a specific case study the policy followed around a sector/territorial intervention on some links of the cotton-textile chain based in the province between 2003 and 2015. For this, it followed the line of work of Dietzenbacher & Romero (2007) which allows tracing the effects of one sector on another from calculation of the average propagation length (APL) which uses as input from the Input-Product Matrix (MIP-symmetric, product to product, basic prices, 2010). To this end, we apply an empirical methodology based on autoregressive vectors –VAR–. This one allows us to estimate the short-run employment elasticity and to simulate its evolution when biofuel or its prices suffer a positive shock. We construct a monthly database that contains production, prices, and employment levels during 2009-2015 in Colombia. Underlying empirical structure and how elasticity can be estimated in vector models will be studied, and finally we analyze biofuel promotion policy and its effects on jobs. This work analyzes this phenomenon in the case of the main Colombian exports, oil and coal. The effect of exports of these fuels on the exchange rate, the tradable sector of the economy and the rate of Colombian economic growth during the period 1960-2016 was modeled using time series, and the results show that this hypothesis is fulfilled.
