It has shown correlation with mechanical aging and also is influenced by temperature variations on the device surface. The impact of the mechanical stress was studied separately for the bending-stretching and relaxation phases, considering in both cases the effect of temperature changes and mechanical stress, in order to obtain an adjustment equation for the measured experimental data. . From the fit, it was observed that when using an exponential function for the drift effect due to mechanical stress, the experimental curve was fitted with R2=0.91 for the bending-stretching phase and R2=0.79 for the relaxation phase.","PeriodicalId":406990,"journal":{"name":"2022 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122115044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On-board processing can enable responsive missions that are not limited by the latency and bandwidth of the communication to earth. However, in many cases dedicated solutions are required due to the resource constraint environment of satellites. In this contribution we explore architectures for on-board processing of earth observation imagery based on deep neural networks with Symmetric Simplicial (SymSim) layers. The performance of the networks are assessed for the task of plume and scenery classification in RGB earth observation pictures. We propose an extended SymSim algorithm and show its performance in small variants of ResNet compared to the same architectures with convolutional blocks.","PeriodicalId":406990,"journal":{"name":"2022 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116909053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are multiple technologies that allow genomic sequencing; one of the main steps in this experimental process of DNA sequencing being DNA fragmentation.Nowadays there is only one standardized commercial method for DNA fragmentation in compatible sizes with third generation sequencing technologies. However, it´s main disadvantage is tflucenhe high cost of the fragmentation in comparison with its sequencing cost [1]. Consequently, a protocol was developed, in which DNA fragmentation is mechanically produced by using a syringe [2]. This method, though effective, is not as easily reproducible because hand force used by different operatives in the manipulation of the syringe, could alter the results.The purpose of this project was to develop a prototype that could automate and make reproducible the designed DNA fragmentation protocol using a syringe. An electromechanical, as well as an electronic structure of a device that allows the rise and fall of a syringe plunger with controlled velocity was developed. The rise and fall velocities, which are independent, are in a range between 0 to 3,5 cm/ , more than double of the standard velocity. The device has a user interface which allows configuration through a computer, therefore being able to modify the different parameters for the realization of the protocol: number of cycles, velocity, aspirated volume. Moreover, an electronic display and a set of buttons are included in the device to check on the experiment whilst it is done. In conclusion the developed device allows for the customization and automation of the protocol.","PeriodicalId":406990,"journal":{"name":"2022 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132430523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For IC designers, this implies increasing Power Supply Rejection (PSR) while at the same time reducing the Icc spectrum. This work provides a theoretical analysis of the Peak Current Source with emitter degeneration (PCS-ED), a well known current mirror to achieve high PSR, which gets improved even further by the emitter resistance. The trade-off between the output current and the PSR were analyzed, as well as a sensitivity analysis to quantify the effects of the emitter degeneration. Experimental measurements have been performed to validate the immunity of an off-the-shelf bipolar transistor array from 100kHz up to 1GHz. Results showed that despite the small-signal analyses predicted a considerable improvement, the non-linear effects introduced by the input stage remained as the limiting factor in terms of PSR, leading to similar responses in the Peak Current Source (PCS) and the PCS-ED, despite one having much larger PSR than the other.","PeriodicalId":406990,"journal":{"name":"2022 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123665092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal is to explore the trade offs among both architectures and to determine which topology is more efficient according to a target effective number of bits (ENOB). The SAR-pipelined ADC is implemented with 1-bit redundancy to avoid over-range in the second stage. Non-ideal residue amplifier gains are also taken into account in this analysis. System level simulations demonstrate that to achieve an ENOB higher than 8.5 bits the SAR-pipelined ADC is more efficient than SAR topology, while for ENOBs lower than 8.5 bits the SAR ADC is preferred.","PeriodicalId":406990,"journal":{"name":"2022 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE)","volume":"180 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115208209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scientific CCDs and the Skipper-CCD pushed the boundaries for sensing very weak ionizing particles, as they allow to detect without error the charge signal (even a single electron-hole pair) collected on every pixel of the detector. To obtain such precision these sensors have a slow readout time, and this has the effect of producing images with multiple particles crossing the active detection region, hindering the posterior analysis. Recently, a new electronic controller was created, the Low Threshold Acquisition or LTA. The LTA allows to perform Skipper-precision readout on selected regions of the detector. This work presents the first physics experiment utilizing the LTA ever conducted, where the spatial distribution of single electron events is studied and compared against a computational model of photon production by Cherenkov radiation, finding a close agreement between both distributions.","PeriodicalId":406990,"journal":{"name":"2022 Argentine Conference on Electronics (CAE)","volume":"24 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125671009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
