Chander","doi":"10.5958/0976-2469.2016.00020.8","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5958/0976-2469.2016.00020.8","url":null,"abstract":"The study highlights results of bibliometric analysis of 671 articles published during the period 2009–2014 (six years) in the Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge published by CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (CSIR-NISCAIR). The study examines various bibliometric parameters such as authorship pattern, geographical distribution, reference pattern, types of publications cited, subject distribution and length of articles. The results of this study revealed that majority of the LIS professionals who participated in this survey are working in academic libraries as librarians and engaged for more than two years in podcasting technology due to increasing use of mobile technologies. Lack of skills, nine steps as mentioned in figure number-7, and appropriate infrastructure development were found critical issues for adopting, evaluating and augmenting of podcasting technology. This technology will be fully used by LIS professionals for various purposes at very high level.
