In the proposed service, three-dimensional (3-D) building models drawn in CAD are exported to the XML database (DB), which stores geometry and shared properties of each building component. The SHINE browser parses XML documents from the XML DB and renders 3D models using Java 3D APIs and JavaBeans virtual component library. This paper presents a novel error concealment scheme, which exploits the beat and rhythmic pattern of music signals. Preliminary simulations show significantly improved subjective sound quality in comparison with conventional methods in the case of burst packet losses. The new scheme is proposed as a complement to prior arts. Since visual media requires large amount of storage and processing, there is a need to efficiently index, store and retrieve the visual information from multimedia database. This paper presents a unique technique for robust and efficient video indexing by analyzing the video sequence directly in compressed domain. Abrupt scene changes and special editing effects such as dissolves, fades etc. are easily detected using only DC images of I and P frames and the macroblock information of P and B frames. Our proposed system retains the MPEG bit stream structure, but with the DC differential values and some AC coefficients of intra-coded macroblocks being encrypted, hence resulting in a content invisibility for all I-, P-, and B-frames. In this way, our algorithm is efficient in terms of processing speed and data conversion overhead. Parameters that control the generation of several pseudo-random binary patterns for encryption can be dynamically updated, encrypted by a public-key algorithm, and delivered to the receiver through the encrypted MPEG video by data embedding techniques. Since these parameters can be recovered for legal users by using a private key, transmission security can be thus achieved. Besides, our crypto-system is capable of changing these parameters dynamically and making them readable at the receiver side, it is difficult for illegal users to deduce the decryption parameters by some statistical methods.","PeriodicalId":405589,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2001. In collaborative learning, through the discussion among the learners about shared problems, they acquire the skills such as problem finding skills, problem solving skills, self-regulate skills and communication skills. In collaborative learning, the interactions between learners play an important role. To make it easier to design a learning environment where desirable interactions occur, it is necessary to have a description system to express the learning process explicitly. We describe that the description system enables us to develop the tools to design the learning process involving the interactions between learners, and to develop the tools that execute the designed process symbolically to show the feasibility of the process. For the sake of real-time implementation, we developed two main algorithms: Curve Detection Algorithm (CDA) and Peak Detection Algorithm (PDA), where CDA extracts the feature from the silhouette pattern of image and PDA extracts specific patterns in silhouette image which implied peak information. Support Vector Machines is then applied for recognition.
