La primera representa la Bendición del matrimonio de Adán y Eva; la segunda es un arbor consanguinitatis que arranca de Jesé. En el presente estudio nos adentrarnos en su significado rastreando en la patrística y en la tradición iconográfica la ligazón que une ambos elementos –Jesé y árbol de consanguinidad– y, a su vez, estos con la bendición de la unión de los primeros padres. Todo ello nos permite reconocer la insistencia de su artífice en el carácter sacramental del matrimonio, el vínculo de las imágenes con la liturgia nupcial contemporánea, así como explicar el sentido de dichas imágenes religiosas en este manuscrito jurídico.","PeriodicalId":40541,"journal":{"name":"Eikon Imago","volume":"60 6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90906616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La cuestión que se plantea aquí no versa sobre la imagen de la Virtud en sí misma. Esta será valorada y tenida en cuenta para señalar su unidad sin olvidar los aspectos volubles de su presunta configuración monolítica, capaces de generar cambios notorios en su apariencia icónica. Este estudio se concentra en la revisión de sus ausencias en el arte catalán medieval. Con el fin de describir y analizar estos espacios hueros, que nos hacen pensar en una negación de la Justicia –osea de su personificación femenina–, examino su presencia reiterada, o esporádica, en distintos lugares de Europa, al tiempo que me aproximo a las que fueron sus alternativas en contextos religiosos y civiles catalanes. Este cesar en sus funciones no debió ser condicionado tan solo por un desconocimiento y, en todo caso, pudo ser fruto de un pensamiento gráfico disyuntivo que prioriza otros temas y motivos cuando se trata de representar las ideas de juicio o de justicia.","PeriodicalId":40541,"journal":{"name":"Eikon Imago","volume":"87 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82880579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They offer a satiric interpretation of their time, and their work often perverts the typological reading of history illustrated in the Bible by opposing the promises of a second coming by Christ with the horrors of the war and the Holocaust, suggesting that the concept of “sacrifice” has no redemptive value. Anthony Hecht, an American post-war formalist, expresses this message through an ekphrastic medium, specifically emblems, inspired by mediaeval culture and Renaissance poetry. One of his early works, The Seven Deadly Sins, in collaboration with the engraver Leonard Baskin, presents a modern collection of emblem poems featuring the figure of Christ, which like the emblematic form can be seen as “word made flesh”. Through their combinations of icons and words, the emblems become the perfect form to assess the dialectical opposition between God and man, body and soul, past and present. Clm 14011 della Bayerische Staatsbibliothek di Monaco. Il manoscritto, databile alla fine del XIII secolo e riconducibile al contesto genovese, contiene le Decretales di Gregorio IX, la Collectio III di Innocenzo IV e le Constitutiones di Gregorio X. Lo studio dell’apparato illustrativo rivela l’intervento di almeno due miniatori di diversa formazione: il primo, responsabile delle tabelle miniate, è legato ai modi della scuola padovana; il secondo, che realizzò le iniziali decorate, mostra l’adesione al linguaggio della scuola gotica genovese, in particolare del Maestro del ms. Lat. 42. L’analisi delle scelte iconografiche permette infine di evidenziare come elementi stilistici e disegnativi propri dell’immaginario religioso vengano impiegati per introdurre i vari libri delle Decretales.","PeriodicalId":40541,"journal":{"name":"Eikon Imago","volume":"90 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74054534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
