At Amazon.com, they use recommendation algorithms to personalize the online store for each customer. Many applications collect customer's interests to generate a list of recommended items. We introduce recommendation algorithms to smart docent service which guides the visitor considering his preference and other conditions such as his location in museums or art galleries. We use a hybrid approach which combines item-item collaborative filtering and demographical recommendation.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125114987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Time sensitivity refers to the constraint that the content must be delivered to the destinations within a given time frame called time validity. A content delivery fails when the time constraint cannot be satisfied. Thus, DDTV exploits user's mobility and historical travel records to obtain the delivery probability of contents to its destination within the designated time. Then, the expected delivery probability obtained at each time interval is used to select the most suitable content carrier that can satisfy the contents time validity. To further increase the content delivery probability, a successor is selected to continue the delivery of the contents. Simulations show that DDTV has a remarkable improvement when dealing with time-sensitive contents on delivery rate and delivery efficiency with lesser transmission overhead when compared to other existing methods.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125370090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, estimating the path loss in vehicular environments is difficult due to high dynamics and low antenna heights. In this paper, we propose a line-of-sight (LOS) path loss model in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) scenarios and provide deep analysis of shadow fading in urban non-LOS (NLOS) scenarios by the deductive method with the proposed LOS model. The results can be utilized as reference material for further analysis of V2V path loss measurements.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126847366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The cognitive functionalities equipped in femtocells enable us to effectively identify the qualified resource blocks (RBs), thus we can mitigate inter-cell interference. By exploiting the satisfaction degree and the channel state difference, the proposed distributed fair resource allocation (DFRA) algorithm is able to fairly assign the limited spectrum resource to the femtocells. In addition, the DFRA algorithm works in a fully distributed way which can reduce the signal overhead comparing with the centralized schemes. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed DFRA algorithm improves the resource allocation fairness and at the same time maintain a considerable throughput performance comparing with other existing algorithms.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129590435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since a weighted centroid localization (WCL) algorithm can reduce hardware installation cost and guarantee localization accuracy, this algorithm is considered as one of the promising localization algorithms for WSNs. In this paper, we propose a test node-based WCL algorithm for improving the localization accuracy and making the localization system cost effective. These crashes may often cause risks to passengers. In this paper, we present a vision-based threat object (TO) detection and passenger safety system that helps bus drivers and ensures passengers safety when getting off and on buses. In these systems, the fast detection of threat objects is the main priority. Therefore, we also propose a fast motion analysis algorithm based on subtracted images using the change values of the brightness difference of the pixels corresponding to the boundary of a segmented object. We configure a secondary camera on the back of the bus to detect oncoming objects, and a primary camera up to the door to analyze objects' status and track TOs. TO information is transmitted to the control unit, and the control unit controls the door's status or triggers alarms with an on-board speaker to provide a danger signal to passengers. We set up our system on a bus and verified it in a real road environment.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121569546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, logistics services need more accurate localization. However, this issue is yet to be resolved in spite of many studies. In this paper, we propose an acoustic sensing scheme of a drone's direction with respect to an arbitrary observer. The frequency shift caused by the relative velocity between the observer and the sound source, Doppler's effect, is used to find the direction. Our experiment's results show the directionality can be found accurately. Also, the outdoor field experiment shows significantly better results than indoor tests. All experiments demonstrate the feasibility of our approach.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127778566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
