This research was conducted at SD Negeri 5 West Sabu. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used by researchers in this study were oral tests, interviews, observation, and documentation. The focus of the research in this study was the teacher and students while the research subjects were all 30 class III students at SD Negeri 5 West Sabu, with 18 female students and 12 male students. The results showed that the characteristics of fluency reading difficulties in class III were pronouncing words and sentences incorrectly, spelling, omitting letters and words, adding words, flat intonation and not paying attention to punctuation marks, unable to string letters together, reading haltingly and not understanding reading content. The factors that cause difficulty reading fluently are internal and external factors. Internal factors include (difficulty recognizing letters, eliminating letters and words, lack of interest in reading, and physical factors). While external factors include (how to teach teachers and family environment factors). \u0000 \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":402427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Character and Elementary Education","volume":"112 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114031660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of research is CAR which is carried out with the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting with the research subjects being grade 1 students, totaling 15 people. Data collection in this study was carried out using observation and test techniques, then the data obtained would be processed and analyzed further using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the pre-cycle data obtained by the researcher, there were 2 students (13.3%) completed and as many as 13 students (86.6%) did not complete, so the researcher needed to take action and get results in the first cycle as many as 6 students. (40%) completed because they can read vowels and consonants and spell syllables into words, while there are 9 students (60%) who have not finished because students are less active and lack concentration in reading vowels and consonants. Furthermore, in the second cycle, there was an increase, namely as many as 13 students (86.7%) completed, which means the teacher began to be able to overcome the deficiencies that occurred in the first cycle. However, there were still 2 students who had not finished in the second cycle, so the teacher needed to find a way to solve the problem. can overcome the shortcomings of these students with the need for cooperation with parents of students and a more approach to these students. Therefore, mathematics subjects need to be given to all students from elementary school to high school levels to equip students with the ability to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, and creatively, and be able to solve the problems they face in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibiting factors of teachers in learning mathematics and the efforts made to overcome the inhibiting factors of teachers in learning mathematics at elementary school Inpres Oebufu, Kupang City. The results of this study indicate that the inhibiting factors for teachers in learning mathematics are the lack of interest and motivation of students in learning, there is insufficient infrastructure and must be made by the teacher, and the family environment and residence that do not support students' interest and motivation to learn. at home. Efforts are being made to overcome the inhibiting factors of teachers in learning mathematics, namely every time the teacher starts a lesson the teacher gives enthusiasm and motivates students to focus on learning, provides stabilization in the study of material, and provides sufficient media.","PeriodicalId":402427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Character and Elementary Education","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115837461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The background of this research study is the low science process skills of students in science learning and learning that still uses conventional models. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the Project Based Learning learning model on science process skills. The type of research used is quantitative. The research method uses the One Group Pretest Posttest Design with the Pre-Experimental research design. The instruments used were observation sheets, student worksheets, and science process skills questionnaire sheets which were used as pre-test and post-test. The sampling technique in this study is by taking simple random sampling, the sample used is 1 class, namely VA. The research was conducted at SD GMIT Manumuti, Kupang Regency. Based on the research, it was found that from all indicators of students' science process skills, the results of calculating the independent t-test hypothesis using SPSS 22 obtained the results seen from Sig. (2-tailed) < α 0.05, namely 0.00, this shows that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model has a significant influence on science process skills.","PeriodicalId":402427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Character and Elementary Education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115488428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
