This study examines the condition, maintenance, and proximity of roadside trees to electric wire corridors in Pokhara Metropolitan City, Nepal. This study employs field surveys, categorization based on tree attributes, and mapping techniques to analyze the distribution and characteristics of roadside trees. Out of approximately 1500 trees initially collected, 1435 were processed for further analysis. Trees were classified by species, height, condition, and the presence of fencing or resting structures (Chautaro), with proximity to electric wire corridors also assessed. Findings reveal a significant presence of trees in good condition, predominantly Dhupi, Kapur and Ashoka species, with a notable percentage requiring maintenance. A substantial number of trees were found in close proximity to electric wires, posing potential hazards. Mapping techniques facilitated visualizing the spatial distribution of trees, aiding in urban planning and management strategies. The study underscores the importance of sustainable urban greening practices and the need for proactive measures to address challenges related to tree maintenance and safety in urban environments like Pokhara Metropolitan City. This study emphasizes the pivotal role of roadside trees in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and quality of city life, positioning them as decisive factors in shaping urban environments and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors.\u0000","PeriodicalId":399251,"journal":{"name":"Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning","volume":" 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141833023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, various challenges have been identified as impacting the performance and growth of the Ethiopian construction industry. Projects in the Jimma Zone face numerous issues related to cost, time, and quality. This study aimed to evaluate how factors like resource management, stakeholder management, procurement management, and quality management influence project performance in the Jimma Zone. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to employees of Jimma Zone Employers and Contractors. A total of 62 questionnaires were distributed, with an 80.65% response rate, providing sufficient data for statistical analysis. Findings were presented using charts and tables. Quality management challenges included the absence of a quality management system and insufficient management commitment. Regression analysis indicated that resource and stakeholder management factors significantly influenced project cost and time performance, while quality management factors had a positive but not significant impact. Resource, stakeholder, and quality-related factors significantly influenced project quality performance, whereas procurement management factors did not have a significant impact. The study suggests that focusing on resource and stakeholder management could enhance project performance in the Jimma Zone.\u0000","PeriodicalId":399251,"journal":{"name":"Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning","volume":" 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140993703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper takes Jinan city park in China as the landscape aesthetic evaluation object, and obtains different types of landscape evaluation media by shooting, which are four ways: Audio-only, Image-only, Video-only, Audio-video, and uses these four media ways to evaluate the park landscape and analyze the data to explore the influence of different media ways on the landscape evaluation results, in order to get the evaluation results closer to the real environment under the psychological state. The following conclusions were obtained: (1) Different evaluation media methods will have an impact on the aesthetic evaluation of urban park landscape, and the degree of impact depends on the sound and dynamic elements in the environment. (2) Sound landscapes have a superimposed effect on the aesthetic evaluation of urban park landscapes, with good natural sound and artificial noise enhancing and reducing visual evaluation scores respectively. (3) There are significant gender differences in the aesthetic evaluation of landscapes containing sound, which in turn affects the aesthetic evaluation of landscapes.","PeriodicalId":399251,"journal":{"name":"Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116180244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Third places have become necessary in today's society due to the close integration between daily human life, work, and technology. The characteristics of third places are the diversification to meet different functional requirements, easily accessible and act as a middle ground for users from different backgrounds. Besides promoting social interaction, third places are also of great value in promoting healthier lifestyles, increasing the real estate value of the surrounding areas, and promoting community resilience during disaster times. This paper shows the transformation of old industrial buildings into third places to fill the gap for different functional needs for third places, promoting sustainable urban development and saving the old industrial buildings which otherwise face the threat of demolition due to continuous deterioration. Industrial buildings possess exceptional structural and architectural characteristics that can support many new third place functions. By searching through related literature related to the reuse of old industrial buildings and third places, different influencing factors are extracted and summarised to classify different space modes of third places into site space, ecological space, activity space, service space, and transitional space. The paper further summarises different strategies for transforming the old industrial buildings` structure, facade, and the different spatial modes of the third places.","PeriodicalId":399251,"journal":{"name":"Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122935997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As case study, the coastal region of Beni-Ksila on the west coast of Bejaia (Algeria). The wish through this article is to put, once again, in evidence my persuasions on the advent of the tourist practice in developing societies and the importance of its effects space. This situation, in the face of the stagnation of certain decision-makers and specialists in the field, at least until recent years, has never ceased to worry a number of other observers. Thus, a glimmer of awareness, more and more collective, emerges and supports the highlighting of the reality of the phenomenon. Globally, if in the past, some tourism authors and organizations underestimated domestic tourism in developing countries, let alone its spatial effects; today many authors, even even those who were reluctant in the past speak of the reality of phenomenon and its corollary spatial effects. In the case of Algeria, taking awareness of public authorities, in recent years faced with this reality, admittedly displayed in a timid manner, where actions are slow to come; but this already highlights the importance of the phenomenon.","PeriodicalId":399251,"journal":{"name":"Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126804000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
