Method: Consecutive daily smokers at least for a period of six months and age and sex-matched non-smokers were included into the study. Cases with regular alcohol consumption (one drink a day) and patients with inflammatory, infectious, or devastating disorders including eating disorders, malignancies, acute or chronic renal failure, cirrhosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hyper- or hypothyroidism, or heart failure were excluded from the study. Results: The study included 150 smokers (99 males) and 162 non-smokers. The mean age of smokers was 45.9 years, and 66.0% of them were male. Although the mean body weight, body mass index, systolic and diastolic blood pressures, and hematocrit values were similar in both groups, FPG value was lower in the smokers (101.9 versus 111.9 mg/dL, p<0.01), significantly. Similarly, high density lipoproteins (HDL) value was lower in the smokers (41.1 versus 44.0 mg/dL, p<0.05), again. On the other hand, triglycerides (163.3 versus 151.8 mg/dL, p<0.05), low density lipoproteins (LDL) (126.1 versus 117.4 mg/dL, p<0.05), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) (10.8 versus 9.4 mm/h, p<0.05), and C-reactive protein (CRP) (2.5 versus 2.1 mg/L, p<0.05) values were all higher in the smokers, significantly. Conclusion: Smoking causes a low-grade systemic inflammation on vascular endothelium terminating with an accelerated atherosclerosis-induced end-organ insufficiencies all over the body. FPG and HDL may be negative whereas triglycerides, LDL, ESR, and CRP positive acute phase reactants indicating the inflammatory effects of smoking in the human body.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126938454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the trauma,the person becomesmore prone to many psychological disorders and has tangible consequences such as decreased productivity, loss of job and loss of physical well-being. EMDR is one of the most effective methods used intrauma treatment. EMDR is a therapy method with proven effectiveness in cases of sexual abuse as well as in many types of trauma. However, EMDR applications are not available for Capgras Syndrome. In this study, it was shown that the symptoms of X, who developed Capgras Syndromeafter sexual abuse, were reduced after EMDR treatment in addition to drug treatment. X also had doubts about his sexual orientation and it was determined that these doubts disappeared after the application.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"78 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116769919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These lesions are closely associated with multiple myelomas, which should be ruled out in all these cases by necessary laboratory and radiographic examinations. A 41yrs old female came to surgery department with a complaint of slow-growing painless mass of 1.0 x0.5 x0.5cm at angle of the mandible. A diagnosis of solitary plasmacytoma was made on the basis of clinical, radiographic, and histopathological findings. Early diagnosis of plasmacytomas is of great importance. Radiotherapy is the common modality of treatment with or without adjuvant chemotherapy. Progression to plasma cell lesion is possible; thus, close follow-up of the patient is essential after the completion of the therapeutic procedure.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124777067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mutation of the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene, especially in women with low folate intake. Hyperhomocysteinemia (HHct) can be caused by several factors, such as lack of folic acid, vitamin B6 and B12 deficiency, hypothyroidism, medications, genetic abnormalities, aging and kidney dysfunction. Increased homocysteine in peripheral blood can lead to vascular disease, coronary artery dysfunction, atherosclerotic changes, and embolic disease. Thus, upstream of the trophoblastic plugs, any increase in the thrombogenic power of pregnant women will lead to the formation of a clot and the termination of pregnancy. Recent studies have reported that hyperhomocysteinemia is associated with numerous pregnancy complications, including abortion disease, preeclampsia, preterm birth, hematoma placentae, fetal growth restriction, and gestational diabetes. To avoid thrombosis, the treatment will therefore be based on anticoagulants, sometimes combined with low-dose aspirin because of the anti-aggregating action of the latter. In this article, we report the case of a patient with a history of abortive disease on hyperhomocysteinemia who carried a pregnancy to term, while recalling the metabolism of homocysteine, its impact on pregnancy, and the interest of supplementation folic acid to prevent complications due to hyperhomocysteinemia.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115366321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We display two diverse complications including methylene blue: 1) skin and parenchymal rot when color was infused in a subdermal mold and 2) Mycoplasma infection caused by sullied methylene blue in breast lessening surgery. Methods: We show two cases seen at the College of Arizona amid 2008 and alluded to a breast specialist for administration. We assessed and overseen complications of methylene blue color infused by 2 referring surgeons for different indications. A review of the literature was performed. Results: The primary case could be a 67-year ancient female analyzed with invading ductal carcinoma of the left breast for which she was treated by her beginning specialist with cleared out segmental mastectomy and sentinel hub biopsy. The working specialist infused methylene blue in a subareolar subdermal design (removed from the essential tumor); tragically the understanding endured skin and breast corruption requiring multiple surgical debridements and at last accomplishing delayed primary closure. The moment case may be a 45-year ancient female with invading lobular carcinoma with a history of Mycoplasma disease auxiliary to methylene blue infused for breast lessening surgery. She required numerous debridements and had granulomas disguising as cancer on MRI that perplexed her degree of malady. Conclusion: The utilize of methylene blue color in breast surgery isn't without hazard. In both cases methylene blue was mindful for complications requiring surgical debridement for local wound issues. In each case extreme corruption and disease were show. Methylene blue may cause not as it were noteworthy dismalness, but may moreover deliver cosmetically unsatisfactory results.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124217817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The kidneys are paired organs, extremely important for the normal functioning of the body. Each person has two kidneys, left and right, located along the spine and below the ribs. The kidneys are the main filters in the human body and perform multiple functions. They are responsible for fluid control, excretion of toxins, mineral salts, production of the hormone erythropoietin which stimulates the production of red blood cells. Each kidney works independently and a person can live with one kidney. When the kidneys are severely damaged, this leads to the need for dialysis. Kidney tumor refers to abnormal tissue growth within the kidney, and can be benign or malignant. This disease affects men more often than women aged 55 to 75 years. The disease develops within one or both kidneys, while in an advanced stage it spreads to the lymph nodes and bloodstream. It is important to know that early diagnosis and effective methods can help treat this type of cancer.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129341087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, its consumption is linked to factors that were associated with neoplastic development, such as IGF-1. IGF-1 acts by stimulating growth effects on most cells of the body via the IGF1R receptor. In this context, this work aimed to investigate studies that correlate these variables: IGF-1, cow's milk, and neoplasias. The results showed that IGF-1 in cow's milk may increase serum IGF-1 levels in humans from milk consumption. Also, we have shown it that some supplements such as choline and casein do not alter the amount of IGF-1, but when the cow undergoes recombinant bovine somatotropin treatment, there is a significant increase in circulating IGF-1. However, further studies are needed to explain the cause-and-effect relationship noted in this study.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127748394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Secondary metabolites in Trichilia monadelpha stem bark extract (TMSBE) was analyzed using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) system while proximate analysis of experimental diet was carried out using Near Infra-red Spectrophotometer kit (NIR). 40 growing New Zealand white × Chinchilla crossbred rabbits of 6-7 weeks age (472.6 ± 6.2 g) were used for the experiment. Rabbits were randomly assigned to 4 groups; each treatment was further divided into 5 replicates consisting of 2 rabbits each. Group 1 (G1): Basal diet with no TMSBE, G2: Basal diet plus 3 mL TMSBE per rabbit/day, G3: Basal diet plus 6 mL TMSBE per rabbit/day and G4: Basal diet plus 9 mL TMSBE per rabbit/day. Experimental diet was formulated to meet the nutrient requirement standards for growing rabbits according to Nutritional Research Council standards (1977). GC/MS analysis of TMSBE revealed that it is abundant in coapene (25.40 %) followed by azulene (18.29 %), δ-cadinene (15.39 %), α-cubebene (10.61 %) and α-longipinene (10.11 %) respectively other compounds were less than 5 %. Average weekly weight gain (AWWG), average weekly feed intake (AWFI) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were significantly (P˂0.05) different among the treatments. AWWG and AWFI follow similar trend and were highest in G3 and G4, intermediate in G2, lowest in G1 (P˂0.05). Better FCR were recorded among rabbits in G4 compared to the other groups (P˂0.05). It was concluded that feeding TMSBE at 9 mL/day improved feed intake and enhance performance in rabbits.","PeriodicalId":398973,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Case Reports and Trails","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121153466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
