There were 95 students participated in this study. The students were from Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program at Faculty of Languages and Literature State University of Makassar in 2020/2021 academic year. The study therefore concludes that 1) Students are very active in communicating ideas, thoughts, and feelings in online classrooms in the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, 2) The flexibility of online classes is more important to students, 3) The participation rate of participants in online classes is higher than traditional classes (face to face), 4) Online classes are no problem especially those related to internet networks, 5) Students do not experience difficulties in online classes. © 2021, Caddo Gap Press. Hasrat","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.4730889","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4730889","url":null,"abstract":"The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) emerged in Wuhan city, China in December 2019 and rapidly spread as a global health pandemic. The primary presentation is respiratory and cardiac symptoms, but neurological features are also being reported. A single-centered, cross-sectional study on 168 patients with COVID-19 was conducted in Al-Mawani teaching hospital, Basra, Iraq to assess the neurological manifestations of COVID-19 and their relationship with the disease severity. 60.7% of the patients involved in the study were documented to have neurological manifestations. The most common reported symptom is the headache (39%) followed by the dizziness(lightheadedness) (28.6%). The participants of the study were students of FKIP Tadulako University, Palu, Indonesia. There were 71 participants of the current study. The instrument of the study was questionnaire which aims to explore the students’ willingness to communicate, measured by the 16-item Likert-scale Students’ Willingness to Communicate in Online Learning at higher education. This current study concludes that group discussion is the activity most students like in online English classes. Other evidences from the study are: 1) Students do not feel nervous about expressing their feelings, opinions, thoughts, and ideas in online classes, 2) The students prefer listening rather than speaking in online class discussions, 3) Class discussions in online learning are the best way to practice speaking English, 4) Students do not feel nervous in online class discussions, 5) Students prefer online class discussions rather than offline class discussions, 6) Students are always encouraged to speak in online class discussions, 7) Students are always eager to speak in online classrooms, and (9) Students should not feel ashamed if they give wrong answers in online class discussions. © 2021, Caddo Gap Press. This study examined the journey of six pre-service urban high-school teachers in Arizona as they enact Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy (CSP) in a year-long student teaching residency. Pre-service teachers worked with and learned from English Language Learners in various contexts.
