The straight Gabor wavelets have been used to get statistical and binary representation of the palmprint. But, the employment of the straight Gabor wavelets may not be suitable for representing the curvature of the palmlines. This motivated us to investigate the curved Gabor wavelets for feature extraction. Therefore, this work employs the relative statistical ensembles “Relative statistical variances” of the transformed palmprint images using curved Gabor wavelets for palmprint representation. These variances are computed at different layers which are generated through partitioning the transformed palmprint image plane. The experimental results confirm that the proposed relative statistical ensembles has good discrimination capability.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121024279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antenna tilt is one of the most influential techniques to improve the performance of cellular networks. In this paper, we have considered fractional frequency reuse (FFR) and soft frequency reuse (SFR) aided cellular network, and analyse the impact of antenna tilt on the coverage probability and average rate. It is observed that at an appropriate antenna tilt improves the coverage probability and average rate for both the FFR and SFR systems. Moreover, it is observed that, impact of antenna tilt is more on the performance of SFR system as compared to that of FFR system.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"520 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116571647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we investigate deep autoencoder (DAE) based bird call enhancement. The DAE is trained utilizing layer-wise pretraining and then fine-tuned. Objective measures such as PSNR and log spectral distortion are used to compare the effectiveness of the DAE for enhancement. Furthermore, a deep neural network (DNN) based species classification system is utilized as an application to evaluate the effectiveness of the DAE. Our experiments indicate the effectiveness of the DAE based enhancement system, including the ability to provide more generalizable inputs for the DNN-based classifier. We also demonstrate the improvements obtained when bandpass filtering is performed as a preprocessing step for the DAE and the DNN.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129287340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The surfactant added in appropriate amount helps in achieving consistent dispersion of the nanoparticles in colloidal solution. A set of experiments were done for understanding the discharge trait because of particle movement in nanofluid and pure transformer oil. It is noted that the particle levitation voltage in nanofluids achieves an increment as compared to base transformer oil. It is realised that partial discharges are generated because of movement of particle in nanofluid which emits UHF signals with 0.9 GHz as major frequency content. The partial discharge trait in nanofluid is studied under AC, DC and composite voltages. The acquired UHF signals are fed to spectrum analyser to realise number of discharges that occurs on application of supply voltage. The number of discharges are noted to be lesser in nanofluids compared to transformer oil. For investigating the phase of supply where discharges are generated because of particle movement, Phase Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) studies were done for the motion of conducting particle in nanofluid on application of AC and composite voltages.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"5 7‐8","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113955721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is important to model the human face for cross-age verification and recognition. In this paper, we introduce a Cycle Face Aging Generative Adversarial Network (CFA-GANs) framework which preserves original face identity in the aged version of his/her face. Due to the shortage of paired data of human faces, we used CycleConsistent Generative Adversarial Network (CycleGANs) which transform an image from source domain X to target domain Y in absence of paired example. Our aim is to translate an input age group image into target age group image for face aging problems. Train on the various images, we demonstrate that our CFA-GAN learns and transfer the features of the face from the input group to target group. Results have been taken on UTKFace database to obtain aged and regenerated face images.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124020622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy is the main concern for every industry. Carrying out an energy audit in industry helps to identify the energy utilization of the entire industry. The presence of high level of inductive load and proliferation in power electronic devices has become a colossal burden for supplying the quality of power to the consumer. So power quality analysis can be viewed as a serious part of the energy auditing. Power factor is one of the main factors which affect the electrical power quality. This paper describes the analysis of energy audit in a textile industry. The results are tabulated by the observed reading from an industry and the graphs are interpreted for power factor. The key consideration for this study is to evaluate the right action on mitigation plan of low power factor for electrical loads in industries.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121595636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In case of direct connection of PV with GTI the string voltage has to be maintained at the specified DC link Voltage level according to the Maximum Power Point (MPP) and the input range of the GTI by connecting the required number of PV panels to the string. In this case the Maximum Power Point tracking is done by giving the current reference to the inverter control and the response of the tracking may be limited by the inner current loops. Instead we can use a Boost converter to perform the dual function of stepping up the voltage and tracking the maximum power point. A Current Referenced Boost Converter has been proposed in this work in which the control is PWM mode with current feedback. The plant model is derived and a PI controller is tuned to satisfy the performance and stability requirements. The current referenced controller works well for Partially Shaded conditions and also has the ability to control the PV power by operating the PV array at any current reference in case of excess energy generation.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128929475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To enable on the fly real-time reconfiguration of the baseband FMCW signal parameters, a Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS) based scheme has been used which ensures the generation of baseband waveform with different Sweep Rates for different altitude zones. The proposed scheme of Altitude Measurement & Tracking Algorithm is aimed at reducing the bandwidth of the beat frequency signal specifically for the applications requiring wide range of altitude to be measured which in turn leads to reduction of thermal noise floor and better sensitivity. In addition, it also ensures the reliable detection of beat frequency corresponding to the ground return signal in the presence of in-band spurious signals generated from power supply circuit.","PeriodicalId":397083,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130768342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
