Drawing on autoethnography, critical positionality theory, and Indigenous Storywork principles, the article articulates Autoethnographic Storywork as a relational, embodied, and storied mode of enquiry that resists extractive research practices and static identity disclosures. Through the autoethnographic story The Little Gothling , the article demonstrates how knowledge can be generated through story without being reduced to thematic fragments or subjected to conventional analytic control. The story functions as both artefact and analysis, enacting a form of meaning-making that is dialogical, situated, and accountable to relationships across time. Ethical accountability is reframed beyond procedural ethics as a sustained relational commitment to stories, to those whose knowledge informs the work, and to readers who engage with it. By explicitly challenging colonial research structures that have marginalised story, embodiment, spirituality, and relational knowing, this article reopens methodological pathways long deemed out of bounds within WEIRD academia. It argues that Autoethnographic Storywork offers a rigorous and ethically grounded alternative for exploring academic identity, researcher becoming, and positionality, with implications for creative qualitative research methodologies across disciplines.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-21"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147891502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effective evaluation of microsurgical competencies is essential for developing vitreoretinal specialists. This study aimed to create a standardized assessment scale for pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and verify its reliability and validity. Methods A panel of vitreoretinal surgeons from multiple countries developed an initial scale based on surgical protocols, experience, and literature. Experts reviewed the scale and completed a questionnaire to provide feedback. Face and content validity were refined through iterative revisions. Construct validity was assessed by comparing existing scales and analyzing statistical indicators, including intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), Chi-square ( χ 2 ), degrees of freedom (df), goodness of fit index (GFI), adjusted GFI (AGFI), average variance extracted (AVE), composite reliability (CR), and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA). Results Ten experts completed the questionnaire. After revisions, consensus was achieved on the final scale. Strong construct validity was demonstrated. Based on 260 completed scales, both intrarater and interrater reliability showed ICC values >0.7 for all items and overall scores. Conclusions The developed PPV assessment scale shows strong reliability and validity, making it a practical tool for evaluating vitreoretinal surgical skills.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-02-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147895735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study investigated the effects of varying levels of bio-stimulants (0, 8, 10, and 12 L ha⁻¹) and phosphorus (0, 60, 90, and 120 kg ha⁻¹) on maize phenology, growth, and yield attributes at Charbagh Nursery Farm, Swabi, during Kharif 2024 using a randomized complete block (RCB) design with four replications. The results showed that both factors significantly influenced maize development, with notable interactions for several traits. Bio-stimulant application accelerated seed emergence, increased single leaf area, and enhanced plant height, while higher phosphorus levels improved leaf area and growth vigor. Tasseling and silking were delayed by bio-stimulants, allowing prolonged vegetative growth, with the combined application of 12 L ha⁻¹ bio-stimulant and 120 kg ha⁻¹ phosphorus producing the greatest delay. Grain yield components, including grains per ear and thousand-grain weight, as well as biological and grain yields, were significantly enhanced under higher levels of both factors, with the highest values recorded under combined application (408 grains ear⁻¹, 252.7 g thousand-grain weight, 12,958 kg ha⁻¹ biological yield, and 4,326 kg ha⁻¹ grain yield). Harvest index was also improved, reaching 41.6% under 10 L ha⁻¹ bio-stimulant × 90 kg ha⁻¹ phosphorus. In conclusion, integrating bio-stimulants with phosphorus at optimal levels enhances early crop establishment, promotes reproductive development, and maximizes maize yield, offering a practical strategy for sustainable intensification of maize production.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"3 02","pages":"14-26"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147911671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite governmental and non-governmental interventions, limited empirical evidence exists on the effectiveness of social welfare services in supporting affected families. Objective: This study examined the role of social welfare services in supporting families experiencing disruption in Bauchi State, Nigeria, identifying primary victims, causative factors, and intervention effectiveness. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted among 197 respondents (68% female, 32% male) selected through stratified random sampling from three communities in Bauchi Local Government Area. Data was collected using structured questionnaires with validated Likert-scale items and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Women and children constituted the primary victims of family disruption (86% agreement). Major causative factors included divorce (72% strong agreement), desertion (85% agreement), prolonged absence (65% agreement), and wrong basis of marriage (93% agreement). However, 79% of respondents reported inadequate access to government welfare services. Family disruption significantly correlated with child abuse (93% agreement) and poor academic performance (73% agreement). Respondents identified poverty alleviation (86% agreement) and cultural practice reform (53% strong agreement) as essential preventive measures. Conclusion: Family disruption in Bauchi State disproportionately affects women and children, with limited social welfare service accessibility. Strengthening community-based support systems, poverty alleviation programs, and culturally appropriate interventions could enhance family stability.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"02 02","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-02-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://jsshrs.ep-journals.org/index.php/jsshrs/article/download/101/80","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147905145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bucoy","doi":"10.66206/cp39fs67","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.66206/cp39fs67","url":null,"abstract":"This qualitative research study was conducted in order to determine how employees perceive their commitment to the organization and the effects of this perceived commitment on both individual and group performance. In addition to analyzing the results of a literature review, a sustainable model of commitment is developed to improve an organization's long-term performance. To gather information about employees' perceptions and experiences of their commitment to the organization, semi-structured interviews were conducted with employees from various departments, and focus group discussions were held. Specifically, the research examines how employees define organizational commitment, what meaning organizational commitment has for them in terms of their work performance, and what other aspects of an organization, such as leadership, working conditions, and organizational culture, positively or negatively impact an employee's commitment to the organization. The results show that employees view commitment as multidimensional; therefore, they consider it to have three components (affective, normative, and continuance), which reflect their loyalty, dedication, emotional bond, and sense of 'moral' obligation to their organization. Employees believe that their commitment to the organization improves their work performance through increased levels of intrinsic motivation, dependability, initiative and teamwork. Finally, the researchers used the data to develop a model of sustainable organizational commitment that includes affective, normative, and continuance commitment, as well as support structures and policies that create conditions for well-being, engagement, and high performance among employees. This model demonstrates the relationships among an individual's motivation, the relationships among individuals, and the structural support the organization provides to encourage long-term loyalty and organizational effectiveness. The study provides recommendations for leaders and human resource professionals to develop and implement policies and strategies that will not only foster lasting employee commitment but also enhance employee performance and support the organization's sustainability in an increasingly dynamic and competitive workplace.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"3 1","pages":"58-81"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://ojs.myeduheart.com/index.php/arje/article/download/172/178","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147906931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study focuses on the information technology sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, discussing its development, challenges, and the effects of international companies on the labor market and ethical practices. Although the participating companies operate globally and employ geo-hybrid teams, the study sample consists exclusively of employees in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The empirical research provides insights into the importance of ethics in organizations. The methodology was conducted using a structured questionnaire with 186 participants to assess key aspects of this research. Findings indicate a positive influence of national culture on the implementation of ethical standards. Factors such as satisfaction, awareness, and trust proved significant in linking national culture with the adoption of ethical norms. The study is limited by its small sample size, focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina, and lack of benchmarking with multinational companies, which may affect its generalizability. Future studies should expand the research sample across multiple countries to gain a better understanding of cross-national differences. This research contributes to the understanding of ethics in organizations and provides insights for strengthening ethical practices and promoting positive work environments.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"14 1","pages":"81-112"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://jabr.sbs.edu/article/download/157/127/536","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147919723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study investigates teacher readiness and professional development (PD) for technology integration within Nigerian secondary schools. Despite policy efforts and infrastructure initiatives, many Nigerian teachers remain unprepared to integrate digital tools effectively, revealing a gap between policy expectations and classroom realities. This research adopts a mixed-method design—combining survey and interview data—to analyze teachers’ levels of technological, pedagogical, and content readiness using the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework. Findings from simulated empirical data highlight low-to-moderate readiness levels, with significant disparities across urban and rural schools. The study underscores the importance of continuous professional learning, institutional support, and policy realignment toward contextualized, inclusive, and technology-enabled education. The paper concludes with a strategic readiness checklist and professional development framework tailored for Nigerian educators in the digital age.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"02 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://education.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/NATIONAL-POLICY-ON-ICT-IN-EDUCATION-2019.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147921053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This descriptive-correlational study assessed the ICT competencies of school librarians in the 1st District of Pangasinan using the National Competency-Based Standards for Filipino Librarians. It focused on core areas such as email, hardware, internet, operating systems, software applications, web tools, and the application of information technologies. The study also examined the challenges librarians face in applying these skills and the relationship between their competence levels and the difficulty of these challenges. Findings revealed that librarians showed high competence, especially in email and operating systems, while challenges were generally rated as slightly difficult. Statistical analysis indicated no significant relationship between ICT competence and the degree of difficulty, suggesting that higher skill levels do not necessarily equate to fewer challenges. As a result, a Strategic ICT Capacity Enhancement Plan was developed to further improve competencies and address the difficulties school librarians encounter in applying ICT skills.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"2 1","pages":"40-65"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://irijeea.dmmmsu.edu.ph/index.php/IRIJEEA/article/download/55/16","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147896750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Violation of the adequate use of these rules leads to the commission of errors. However, the terms ‘Tense’ and ‘Aspect’ are two interrelated grammatical elements which are closely connected. Tense denotes the direction of an action or an event in time. However, Aspect indicates how an action is to be viewed with respect to time rather than to its real direction in time. The distinction between the two categories is, ‘tense’ shows the direction of an action in time whereas ‘aspect’ shows how the action is to be perceived with time. Therefore, ‘Tense’ and ‘Aspect’ as relevant grammatical elements in English language imposed lots of problems to both teachers and /learners of English as a Second Language. The study explored the nature of such errors, the frequency of their occurrences, their underlying causes as well as proffered some pedagogical solutions. The main aim was to investigate and analyse the Grammatical Errors using tense and aspect in Written English of Senior Secondary Schools Students. Some other objectives included to identify the types of grammatical errors of tense and aspect in both written and spoken forms. It would also provide corrective measures and proffered remedies to the errors in the students’ written English. The importance of this study would be to expose how the proficiency of the students could be improved, the impacts of all the stake holders and how they could help in alleviating the causes of their children’s weaknesses in written English so that they could contribute their quota at home, within the school environment to overcome the deficiencies in their daily communication. This also exposes students to English grammar and provides them with the necessary tools for self-evaluation and correction. The curriculum designers and Language Teachers would also be acquainted with the areas that need attention in terms of course content, resource materials, instructional periods and other pedagogical relationships in the curriculum. The methodology adopted were questions (essay types) to collect data. Also, SSPS model was adopted to facilitate correct data analysis.","PeriodicalId":39687,"journal":{"name":"JK Science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://cambridgeresearchpub.com/ijlser/article/download/690/671","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147921025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
