In such cases, porosity is the most important defect. The shape of the molten aluminum that passes through the runner and gate in a mold is the one of the factors that influences gas porosity. To define the spurt index, which numerically indicates the shape of molten aluminum after the gate, Reynolds number and Ohnesorge number are used. Before die fabrication, computer-aided engineering analysis is performed to optimize the filling pattern. Finally, X-ray and surface inspection are performed after casting and machining to evaluate how the spurt index affects porosity and other product parameters. To construct a dynamic plate theory within the long-wavelength approximation, two dimensional-reduction procedures must be used for analyzing the lowand high-frequency behaviors under the dynamic variational-asymptotic method. Moreover, a separate and logically independent step for the short-wavelength regime is introduced into the present approach to avoid violation of the positive definiteness of the derived energy functional and to facilitate qualitative description of the three-dimensional dispersion curve in the short-wavelength regime. To this end, the fabrication of micro dimples is one of the most widely used surface texturing methods. According to published results, textured surfaces with elliptical micro dimples offer the best friction performance. Therefore, we fabricated elliptical micro dimples on carbon steel (SM45C) by using dual frequency vibration assisted machining. High and low frequencies of 16.3 kHz and 230 Hz were applied to the 3D resonant elliptical vibrator. The 3D resonant elliptical vibrator with a triangular cubic boron nitride insert was assembled on a computer numerically controlled turning lathe. Oval micro dimples of various profiles were manufactured on carbon steel. In terms of the profile of the elliptical micro dimples, the experimental results indicated that the average micro dimple width and depth were 112  and 7.7  . The cross-flow turbine is especially popular in many countries and remote regions where off-grided because of its many benefits such as low cost, high efficiency at low head, simple structure, and easy maintenance. However, most modern turbines, including the cross-flow turbine, are unsuitable for the ultra-low head situation, known as less than 3m water head or zero head with over 0.5m/s flow velocity. In this study, we demonstrated a 20kW class inverted-type cross-flow turbine’s performance. First, we reevaluated our previous studies and introduced how to design the inverted-type cross-flow turbine. Secondly, we fabricated the 20kW class inverted-type cross-flow turbine for the performance test. And then, we designed a testbed and installed the turbine system in the demonstration facility. In the end, we compare the demonstration with its previous CFD results. The comparing result shows that both CFD and real model fitted on guide vane angle at 10 degrees. When the pneumatic system is applied, a line scan camera should be used instead of an area camera because the COF surface makes an arc by the air pressure. The distance between the COF and the inspection camera should be kept constant to get a clear image, thus the position of COF is to be monitored on real-time. In the test printing run, tool change failure/wobble/layer shift occurred. It was confirmed that improper support was the cause of this tool change failure. As a solution, spline and electromagnetic cartridges were designed. Wobble was caused by machine vibration and the motor stepping out. To minimize wobble, an additional Z-axis was installed, and the four-point bed leveling method was used instead of the three-point bed leveling method. The occurrence of layer shift was ascribed to the eccentricity of the Z-axis lead screw. Therefore, slit coupler was replaced with an Oldham type. In addition to the mechanical supplementation, the control environment was integrated to prevent accidents and signal errors due to wire connections. Before the final test printing run, a rectifier circuit was added to the motor to secure precise control stability. Three different types of heat sources were used in the computer simulation: 1) Single Beam Straight Scan, 2) Single Beam Wobble Scan, and 3) Dual Beam Straight Scan. Among these sources, dual beam straight scan was found to be the most effective from the viewpoint of heat source control. Because the difference between the melting temperatures of copper and aluminum is approximately 400°C, a clear separation of heating temperature was required, and the dual beam straight scan provided superior controllability in this regard. When using the dual beam, the temperature of the 90:10 split was considerably easier to control than that of the 50:50 split. The optimal offset was calculated to be 4 mm off to the copper side, where the melting temperature and thermal conductivity were higher. Soil is important in terms of prediction of how the plant grow with nutrient requirement. Also, soil is important for machines to work on to solve labor shortage and save farmers from harsh environment during farm work. To meet diverse needs related to soil in agriculture, the soil related study needs to be conducted synthetically. Thus, we tried to obtain the data related to soil chemistry including pH and Electrical Conductivity (EC) with data related to soil mechanics including Cone Index (CI), moisture content, soil classification. Specifically, the condition of the field was set to be cultivated at least for five years continuously at a first step. The soil was taken from 30 sites. CI was obtained using the soil penetrometer and soil classification was conducted using sieve analysis with eight kinds of sieve. The soil was taken on December when is during winter in Korea. In this study, we develop a thermal bridge breaker to prevent thermal bridging in a metal panel roof and attempt to analyze the effects of its application. To this end, we fabricated a thermal bridge breaker and analyzed it in terms of its strength and heat-transfer characteristics, in addition to conducting a load simulation.
