This study aimed to examine the effects of contrast training on taekwondo athletes' strength and power. Contrast training, which combines heavy and low loads in the same training session, was investigated to see if it could improve the taekwondo athletes’ performance. Material and methods. In an experimental study with a pre-test-post-test control group design, 10 taekwondo athletes underwent contrast training for seven weeks. This training served as the independent variable, whereas strength and power were the dependent variables. Following that, the data were evaluated using multiple statistical tests, including Levene's test for variance homogeneity and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for data normality. The independent samples t-test or ANOVA was also performed to compare the means of the contrast training group and the control group. Results. Athletes were placed into two groups in this experimental study: the treatment group and the control group. According to the findings of this study, contrast training has a substantial influence on boosting taekwondo athletes’ strength and power. When compared to the control group, the contrast training group had higher average strength and power (p < 0.05). The contrast training group had an average post-test strength of 6.868 while the control group had an average post-test strength of 6.766. Conclusions. This study has found that contrast training has a significant positive effect on developing taekwondo athletes’ strength. Taekwondo athletes who received contrast training had higher average strength and power than the control group (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that contrast training is an effective strategy for enhancing taekwondo athletes’ strength and power.","PeriodicalId":39576,"journal":{"name":"Fizjoterapia Polska","volume":" 21","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140211003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CiteSpace V (version 5.8.R3 - 64 bit) is used to create a visual knowledge map of this research field and analyzed the time distribution, authors, institutions and keywords. The results show that the time distribution of research stages in China is generally consistent with that of international research. Although Chinese research in this field is also among the top in the world, the distribution of authors and institutions is more homogeneous than international ones, and the cooperation between authors and institutions is very weak. In terms of the age distribution of the study population, international studies cover almost all age groups and are more diverse in research content. In contrast, Chinese research is limited to focus on adolescents and college students, and the research content is mostly on physical education and school physical education. There is still a gap between China and the international advanced level in the field of PLIE research, and it is necessary to strengthen the longitudinal and interdisciplinary exploration in the future. The concept of physical literacy needs to be further researched and defined and more research results need to be published in influential journals to expand the influence of the field of PLIE research both in China and internationally.","PeriodicalId":39576,"journal":{"name":"Fizjoterapia Polska","volume":" 13","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140213870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The review adheres to the PRISMA guidelines (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis) and encompasses a total of 76 articles. The findings suggest that, on the whole, massages do not exert a significant influence on motor skills, except for flexibility. Nevertheless, some studies propose that favorable changes in muscle force and muscular strength may be noticeable 48 hours after undergoing a massage. Regarding neurophysiological aspects, massages do not seem to impact factors such as clearance of blood lactate, circulation in the muscle, blood circulation, temperature in the muscle tissue, or activation of muscles. However, there is substantiated evidence supporting the idea that massages can alleviate pain and mitigate delayed-onset muscle soreness, potentially by reducing creatine kinase enzyme levels and through psychological processes. Additionally, the review underscores the psychological advantages of massage. It is documented that massage treatments lead to a reduction in feelings of depression, stress, anxiety, and perceived fatigue while simultaneously fostering enhancements in mood, relaxation, and opinion about recovery states. Massages may not have a direct impact on certain performance aspects, but they offer notable psychological benefits for sports, and exercise performance is questionable. They also play an indirect role as an important tool for promoting focus, relaxation, and recovery in athletes. Massages can aid athletes in staying mentally and physically prepared during competitions or training sessions.","PeriodicalId":39576,"journal":{"name":"Fizjoterapia Polska","volume":" 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140214752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, with the development of technology and changes in modern lifestyles, traditional sports games have seen a decline in popularity among children. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the role of traditional sports games in increasing children's endurance in an innovative way. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research model that is a literature study that uses various literature reviews in strengthening research analysis. This research began by collecting some literature, then conducted a review and the collected literature was analyzed with a critical Apprasial table of 10 literature. The results showed that traditional sports games were able to provide significant benefits for children's endurance. Through these games, children develop motor skills, body coordination, and balance. They also learn to cope with challenges, develop social skills, such as cooperation and communication, and gain a sense of pride in their cultural heritage. In addition, the introduction of traditional sports games adapted to innovative elements, such as the use of technology or the setting of new rules, can increase children's interest in participating. This allows them to maintain a connection to the traditions of the past while experiencing the joys and challenges presented in a more contemporary context. This research provides recommendations for educators and parents to promote traditional sports games as an integral part of children's educational and activity curricula. Thus, children can develop innovative resilience through activities that honor their ancestral heritage.","PeriodicalId":39576,"journal":{"name":"Fizjoterapia Polska","volume":" 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140221907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
