The cluster of diseases associated with MetS, namely, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, hypertensive disease and renal disease, had made a death rate of 0.17%, higher than 0.15% attributed to cancers. Aims: To investigate the prevalence, incidence and reversion rate of MetS in Aged population undergoing periodical health examinations, as well as the associated impact factors. Results: The prevalence of MetS was found to be 19.9% among all the subjects studied, to be higher in female (23.1%) than in male (18.3%). The incidence of MetS was 17.6%. In contrast, the reversion rate of MetS was 45.0%. Sex ( p = 0.045) and history of hyperlipidemia ( p = 0.006) were two factors found to be significantly associated with the reversion rate of MetS. Conclusion: Physical examinations may help early detect diseases and revise high risk factors timely. Compared with the ordinary older population, those undergoing periodical health examinations tended to have lower incidence of MetS, better health status and higher disease reversion rate than incidence. To sum up, individualized health education and guidance is an imperative and critical nursing intervention to ensure a healthy state for aged population.","PeriodicalId":39544,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Security and Networks","volume":"10 1","pages":"1"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83701038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a subjective feeling and deeply affect women's lives. Studies evaluating it as a marker for diseases or the transition of menopause among menopausal women are lacking. Aims: To explore the life experiences among women with menopausal fatigue. Methods: In- depth interview were conducted with 17 Taiwanese women with a mean age of 52.2years, who perceived themselves as getting tired or exhausted life but have no major or serious diseases were invited by in-depth interviewed. Data were analyzed by constant comparative method. Results: “Suffering exhausted life like burning at both ends of a candle” was the core category for describing and guiding the process of women with menopausal fatigue. During this process, “Energy Exhaustion” was identified as the antecedent condition. Once the woman became aware, she would begin the process of “Suffering exhausted life like burning at both ends of a candle”. This process would be marked by action and interaction among the categories of “Need refreshing or diverting attention”, “Seeking family or significance others help and supports”, and “Arranging leisure activities and exercise”. Throughout this process women viewed their fatigue life by acceptance by “Slowing and modifying my life paces” or retrieval it but felt frustration and recycling the process of Energy Exhaustion. Conclusion: Menopausal fatigue was viewed as suffering exhausted life like burning at both ends of a candle instead of a silent life message. It is like menopausal symptoms needing to attention.","PeriodicalId":39544,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Security and Networks","volume":"1 1","pages":"95"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90097541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are few studies conducted on these women's subjective health concerns. Getting insight into their health concerns can help women implement their own health promotion lives. Aims The goal is to generate data from the in-depth interview for perimenopausal women based on their perceptions, beliefs, values, and feelings regarding perimenopausal women’s subjective health concerns. Methods: The qualitative research by using content analysis was applied. In-depth interviews were conducted with 19 perimenopausal women with a mean age of 51.31 years. The constant comparative method was used to analyze the interview data. Results Two themes and their subthemes were identified: (a) “Evaluating Health” - “Suspecting a menopausal disease or illness”, “Easily feel tired, lack energy, and feel not as strong as before”, “Worried about my abnormal physiological data” and (b) “Remaining Young” – “Worried that I lost my female characteristics and reproductive function”, “Weight loss is the focus of life, but it is not easy to achieve.” Conclusion “Evaluating Health” and “Remaining Young” are two health concerns for perimenopausal women. It is crucial for health providers to advocate these two concerns as slogans for perimenopausal health promotion women.","PeriodicalId":39544,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Security and Networks","volume":"13 1","pages":"87"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81228312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

BMI, waist-hip ratio (WHR) and lipids are important factors for controlling metabolic syndrome. The Baduanjin exercise is a traditional Chinese exercise that promotes the integration of physical and mental health, and it is easy to practice at home and fit for busy perimenopausal women. However, the health effects needed to be evaluated. Aim: The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to evaluate the effects, after twelve weeks of practicing Baduanjin exercise. Methods: This study was conducted at two Buddhism painting clubs, using a parallel-design, control trial recruiting perimenopausal women. There were three instruments: (1) BMI, (2) Waist-Hip Ratio, (3) Lipids—HDL and LDL. The intervention effects from the study baseline to a twelve weeks follow-up were estimated using T-test to evaluate the effectiveness of Baduanjin exercise. The Baduanjin exercise intervention included one-on-one teaching and telephone follow-up to help women practice Baduanjin exercise of 10-15 minutes twice per day for twelve weeks at home. Result: A total of 54 women aged 40 to 60 were recruited from two Buddhism painting clubs. Twenty-seven women were in the experimental group, while 27 women were in the control group. Positive effects were found after 12 weeks doing Baduanjin exercise of 10-15 minutes twice per day at home. In the experimental group, women improved their health by significantly decreasing BMI, increasing HDL, decreasing LDL and more slowly increasing WHR compared with the control group. Conclusion: Baduanjin exercise is a good home exercise to suggest perimenopausal women to improve their BMI, waist-hip ratio and lipid","PeriodicalId":39544,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Security and Networks","volume":"5 1","pages":"29"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75579961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nursing home directors of nursing (DONs) frequently meet the requirement to train their nurses using online continuing education programs. However, the hands-on practice of fundamental clinical nursing skills necessary to maintain proficiency cannot be accomplished with this method. Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether an educational intervention including hands-on practice of two clinical skills would improve the skills proficiency of nursing home nurses. Method: The study used a pretest-posttest design with skills fair-style educational intervention for nursing home nurses recruited from two nursing homes. The pretest and posttest each included a multiple-choice quiz and hands-on demonstrations of two different clinical skills. Statistical analysis using paired t-tests showed significantly improved skills proficiency for the participating nurses following the educational intervention with hands-on practice of the two clinical skills. Findings: The findings suggest that nursing home DONs should consider educational interventions that include hands-on practice to maintain clinical skills proficiency.","PeriodicalId":39544,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Security and Networks","volume":"42 1","pages":"39"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87095975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
